I mean it, don't click if you don't want to be exposed to graphic images, there are limbs blown off, people with missing body parts unbandaged and exposed.

 

The reason it appears that alot of people are sharing this is because people don't consider what happened at Boston an act of terrorism.  Which is disgusting as this is obviously an act of terror.

 

If by some chance if you have not heard of what has happened I suggest flicking over to FOX News as they have the most current information at the moment (subject to change, but so far they are the most reliable at the moment due to having alot of staff onsite before the bombings occurred) along with very clear footage of the explosions.

Anyway, here is some more background information that I have found watching Fox at the moment.

 

3 Bombs of an unknown type were detonated in the Boston Marathon area.  2 were along the finish line which appear to have done the most damage.  One also was detonated in the JFk Libary although it is unknown if it is related or not.

 

Also, 2 bombs were found and defused, not that it is any consolation but it could of been far worse than it was if it were not for the quick thinking of officials in the area.

BUT that is NOT true.  Those two news providers have no evidence that this is the case and NOBODY KNOWS who did this.

 

According to comments on Facebook (on many news pages such as Fox, CNN and more) the person they have under police protection/custody is a Saudi male but again, that is pure speculation and he may indeed be a victim not a perpetrator.

Also, as far as I am aware the Cellphone network is still down as officials believe the bombs were detonated with a cellphone device.

 

EDIT:  According to some things I have heard on Fox there is a marathon going to be in London in the next upcoming days or weeks.  If by chance it is an international terror cell doing this please be careful anyone who is going or participating in the upcoming London event.

Note, this is not a political issue.  Please Marky, don't bring up the word politics... its just gotten plain nasty on Facebook, especially when CNN and Esquire started blaming Right Wing supporters.

 

Anyone who trys turning this tragedy into a right vs left shit slinging competition is sick.. no respect for CNN especially anymore.

 

Nobody knows who did this, it could be domestic American terrorist groups, it could be jihadists or it could be a bunch of crazys.

The damn victims and the people who are helping are all a mixture of left, right w/e view points and it is a disservice to those people to turn this tragedy into a political point scoring match.

I know what you meant mate its just that I dont want to see this thread here turn into a slinging match over politics, im trying to keep everyone informed as realisitically as possible about what it is going on.

 

Not much new info has surfaced yet though, i'll update when I see something important.

 

Apparantly the youngest injured is 3 and the youngest killed was 8, speculation though sadly.. but I wouldnt not be surprised if that is fact.

 

According to fox currently at least 2 people have died.  This is however and it is expected to rise.  At least 10 people have suffered grevious amuptations.  Fox sourced the Boston Police for this so I assume this is the official count so far.

Your not getting it.....Right I feel sad for the people that were injured or killed but it isn't really something that should be discussed on a public forum when it is all over the news. When that message was posted the Cell Phone network was still down and alot effected by the blasts were in Hospitals, how do you answer house phones while in Hospital?.  Journalists themselves said on live television that Social Media was the best approach at that time as friends and family who may not have been hospitalised would of been able to update the current condition of a mutual loved one.

Now that Cell Phone networks are back up yes that is the debatably the best way now, the cellphone provider in that area, ATT I believe, is struggling to field the large amount of calls that is happening right now.

Anyway folks, this thread here is largely redundant now as basic services have been fully or partially restored.

 

To my knowledge nobody knows who has done this, however the bombs were something called pressure cooker bombs I believe.  Apparently said bombs are used overseas quite often as makeshift bombs so sadly I don't think it helps narrow down a list of suspects.

 

 

I'm from Boston.  This was fucked up.  I have a friend in the hospital right now, thankfully she only needed stitches.  Another guy I know who ran wasn't hurt.  I hate going into the city. 

 

Damn, it has to be utterly horrible nowdays to be afraid to leave your own house because of this sort of atrocity.

 

How are the Boston people coping at the moment?  We havn't heard alot from the everyday Boston citizen on the news at the moment, but it appears everyone in the city has pulled together which says alot of about how good a city Boston is.
