firelight Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I have installed sexout, all files required, and two plugins, SexoutSex and SexoutKey just to try it out. It all seems to work. The problem is that once I install SexoutNG, I suppose this is the file that changes a clothed male body (when you take off the armor in the game) to an almost naked one and adds a naked erect body. So, my body texture is somehow corrupt. Some parts of it are black, as if my character has a gangrene, some are gray, and other parts (like the back of the character0 have weird scratches. Once I deactivate SexoutNG and SCR, my character's skin is back to normal (of course, those parts that are actually exposed). I have read in one of the topics that installing SexoutNG with FOMM may not be causing a problem. Maybe a manual installation (where I'd place textures into my data folder myself) would work. I have seen a topic on this forum with the instuctions of manual installation somewhere, but I can't find it in this dump again. Now I'm going to write something you won't like. I think that this forum, is like the most obscure mod "site" I came about. It almost seems like people don't want their mod to be installed so that nobody sees what these mods are about. Why the hell there are so many threads on the forum when it could be ONE thread with all the explanations and all links to all required files in it? I have to click through 10 freaking black and white pages to install this thing. It's terrible, and if I'm going to say how terrible it is I'm going to be banned. Also, whoever has decided to make a pinned forum threads stand for a list of things required to install obviosly doesn't care about usability at all. Also, I'm seeing advertisement with porn on every page, yet I have to look to find actual pics of Sexout in action and have to press "Show" buttons to see the pict. WTF? Many mods authors on Nexus even make special visuals to advertise their mods and to show what they're about. All I see here is an endless list of words and links and words and links and abbreviations. I think it has to be said that in terms of usability this forum is a dump. Partly I'm frutstarted that I've spent several hours on installing this thing. How hard would it be to simply merge all required meshes and textures and all into ONE file? If they're required, why the hell not merge them so that I can download ONE file instead of 4?
gregathit Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Couple of things: 1. That is about the most fucked up approach to asking for help that I have ever seen before. Seriously??? Hey, you guys have a fucked up site and I am too lazy to read, so make an easy button? Yea, good luck with that approach in any other issue you have in life, whether that be in a forum or RL. You'll be lucky not to get decked. 2. This is the deep end of the modding pool (meaning you need to have the basics of mod installing already under your belt), so if you can't be bothered to read and follow directions then you probably should just move on and find something else. 3. Sexout is NOT one mod, nor does it have a single mod author. It is a community effort that is still a WIP. It has a large number of plugins from a large number of different folks and coordinating anything like that is a full time job for several people. Kinda foolish to demand that someone give up a shit ton of free time, when you can't be bothered to spend a very small amount of time reading and following directions, don't you think? 4. No we don't typically ban folks for making ridiculous posts. However, unless you change your approach, you won't get shit for help from anyone so............
firelight Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Yeah, I've noticed that this place is very "deep". Probably the deepest place I've been to. Very advanced. If somebody's making this thing his full time job, why not make it actually easy to install and read for people?

Grumpf Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I can understand frustration... Look firelight, we're going to fix this the best way we can: We're going to make it work for you and we're going to use this time to write down what we did so other players will benefit from our work. Forgive us as we're so down into our thingies here that sometimes we forget how lost a new member can feel. But that's where we can all benefit from what seems to be a flaw! Let's go slowly and sure enough, not only everything will be working but you'll be in turn, able to help new members when the needs arise... (I'm taking a lot of liberty with my fellow colleagues here as I've never really installed Sexout but I'm ready to do it with you for the sake of it). So first thing first, can you list all the mods you currently have installed right now?

firelight Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Here's how the problem looks. If you looked like this (below your head), you'd be frustrated too.
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 You've either forgotten to toggle archive invalidation on/off in FOMM, or you're using Robert's body replacer, which currently is incompatible with Sexout, at least in the erection stage, which is always the stage activated during sex. I would recommend you uninstall any male body replacer, and reinstall Sexout, which comes with its own replacer (Breezes) and works straight out of the box. If you read the FAQ and "How to Install Sexout" threads carefully, you'll see what you've done wrong.
firelight Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 ChancellorKremlin, yoг were close. It was New Vegas Redesigned 2 that was at fault here. Seems like that mod isn't compatible with Sexout.
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 That can't be right, because I use NVR 2. I installed NVR 2 first, then Sexout, and it works fine.
firelight Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 When I disable NVR 2, I see a normal texture instead of that mess. It's a fact for me. Now I'm having another freaking issue. The game crashes on start once I uninstall the damn SexoutNG. What a load of. Now if I don't use SexoutNG, it crashes on start! Why can it be happening? All in all, this thing requires a lot of things to install and does absolutely nothing interesting enough except breaking the game. :-( It's HAPPENING. I activate SexoutNG -- game starts. I deactivate it -- it crashes on start. Also, after all this activating of that required crap, even with SexoutNG, the game crashes on exit. Great.
Grumpf Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I'll reinstall the game, make a backup and start adding mod by mod and select only the ones that seem useful. From what I see from your shot, you have nif that uses wrong textures (or textures that are mapped incorrectly on the nif if you prefer). That is usually because most body mods use the "foot" texture for the whole body but this is not vanilla standard. I actually guess that as I didn't mod for FO but other fellow members may correct me if I'm wrong. So step1: breath, backup your savegames, and reinstall FONV. Step2: re-download the mods you absolutely need Step3: backup your Data folder Step4: Install mods, one by one, making sure they all work fine before adding a new one. Then we'll go on.
firelight Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Phew. Here's what I did. Deactivated all mods and the game crashed on start even with SexoutNG this time. I wanted to climb a wall already, a thought of reinstalling again isn't fun. Then I activated Darnified UI (now I know it's crashed when I disabled it probably because there were still Darnified UI specific things in config files, when you install a lot of mods and make changes like that, it's all getting very hectic when you make changes sometimes), Project Nevada, Mod Configuration Menu, oHUD, Unified HUD in that order (as recommended on Unified HUD page on Nexus, if I'm not mistaken). Now game starts without crashing and exits without crashing and without SexoutNG. Reverted back to NVSE 2. Getting rid of Sexout and hopefully I'm back to where I was. Thanks for being helpful. Still, why it was crashing before I disabled all the mods and why it depended on SexoutNG remains a mistery for me. Also funny thing -- I've tried to revert back to NVSE 2 before disabling all mods step, and then my game crashed on loading of any saves. Lots of mysteries.
Grumpf Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Crashing on start and crashing on loading saves are very different. Don't worry too much about crashing on load savegame, as soon as you can, make a clean save and you should be fine.
firelight Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 I know they are different things and I had both happening, like I wrote. So many different things could brake. Sometimes when dealing with a lot of mods, reinstalling may not be the best thing. I think my data folder should be good, provided that FOMM writes and deletes everything nicely in it when a package is activated/deactivated.
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 You really shouldn't revert to any previous version of NVSE, because that is a sure way of screwing things up. A crash on start is usually a sign that you're running a mod/plugin that has a master as a requirement that it is not finding; ie, something you uninstalled or de-activated. Maybe you still had a plugin that required SexoutNG, but you de-activated that. Crashes on exit are fairly common and seem to come and go. Also, settle down a little. This is something on your end because we have thousands of downloads with very few reports of errors, not to mention it works fine for me and a bunch of other people. We're trying to help you, and trust me - our initial reactions (mine especially!) - to your OP could be 10x worse. So chill out.
KainsChylde Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Crash on exit can be caused by numerous mods, sexout or non. Easiest way around it that I've found is to install New Vegas Stutter Reducer. Load the game once (main menu is fine, don't need to make it all the way to game play). Once you've loaded and exited the game, go back to the folder where you installed NVSR, there should now be an .ini file for it. Near the top of the .ini you should see the line "bFastExit=0" Change the 0 to 1 and voila! No more crash on exit.
