when it comes to sims i would like to use my laptop since i can go anywhere in my house to be comfortable. the thing is when i play sims 3 with the 18+ mods its 100% unplayable the sims will have constant animation lock ups each 5-10 sec. it never go away. they only way to get sims 3 to be payable on my laptop is to remove the mods. then and only that can sims 3 run normally. the laptop is a lenovo Ideapad 130-15AST. its specs r AMD APU - A6-9225, the GPU is a Radeon R4 and 8GB of ram in single channel. now its not the best laptop in the world but without the mods sims 3 runs completely fine, but with the mods 100% unplayable...

heres a video i made showing off what im talking about

Okay, not sure what your point is, but I will say you've perfectly demonstrated the choices EA made when designing the game.

In an effort to make as much money as possible, EA created the game to run on extremely low end computers to increase sales possibilities. While several other developers created games which benefit from cutting edge technology, The Sims 3 was not one of those. In fact - the Sims 3 with it's open world created stresses on the systems of the time which required a lot of patches and even outside mods from NRaas to bypass critical issues. EA themselves never completely addressed the issues themselves, instead falling back on 'work arounds' like "don't run all EP's at once" type gibberish. Your 'modern' system is able to handle all EP's, but asking it to do more like the Core mods (you seem intent on 'exposing') will demand from a system shows the shortcomings of your chosen laptop.

I did a search for your system, and also looked at reviews. While not everyone can afford high end PC's, (my system cost 10X what yours can be bought for) you get what you pay for. Gaming on a PC requires more than one used for surfing the internet, streaming videos, or doing your taxes on will require. One can't even buy a gaming console for the price of the system you're using for demonstration....  (Is your CAPS key broken?)

This is why the Sims 4 reverted to the 'closed' world format. Pretty graphics are less demanding than complicated scripting which requires more CPU/Memory.

I'll say the video was comprehensive. Showing all the shortcomings of the tool you chose for the job. Yet it also proved how EA created the program to make as many sales as possible realizing the target audience for the Sims series isn't the same as the audience for other games they create like the Battlefield, Battlefront, and others series requiring a dedicated gaming system. Try running one of those, and get back to us.

Complaining that your car blows up after using Nitrous because it isn't capable of handling it like a performance vehicle is what I get from this. "Go away. I do not care!" You can say that again because it makes me laugh - thanks for that!

The date on 'your' profile says you've been with LL for several years - then why so much venom and misunderstanding about the products, use of mods, and choice of venting location? This IS a mod users/creators site. I thought we ALL knew what it takes to use mods successfully depending on the game/mod in question. There are many posts (most all) explaining everything from system requirements, and settings to accomplish this. So I repeat the first part of this reply: Okay, not sure what your point is....

(Please don't tell me this is click-bait to get YouTube views for monetization)

TLDR?

I watched your entire video, but you couldn't bother to read my reply? I think that is the problem - you don't take the time to read and comprehend.

You said it yourself - your laptop can't handle the mods. I agree.

I said you are a member of a site which has many posts explaining in detail what is required. Up to you to search for answers instead of waiting on one to be handed out.

For others following - I explained this was EA's plan all along concerning the Sims 3, but they over did it and 'fixed' it with the Sims 4.

I'm done here.

I trimmed a lot of the game's features to make the game run smoother.

Like disable all the stray pets and wild horses, disable the story progression, download pathfinding correction world maps, merge package files, etc.

That is how I get smooth gameplay.

The latest version of KinkyWorld v409 on Patreon is also makes the game runs smoother, especially it fixed the undressing stuck issue before woohoo.

Not made to run TS3. I have a Lenovo ideapd 320 as a travel laptop... generally a step or 2 up from what you have. It can't handle anything more than base game and a couple of EP's. Start adding mods and it grinds to unplayable. Much has to do with the graphics card, or lack of. But, the processor also simply isn't able to handle the load. Your processor probably isn't fast enough. Your SSD is able to throw the info at the processor, but it can't read it fast enough. So, what I see is graphics card and processor being 90 to 99% of the problem.

Think of your laptop as a pick up truck. Pull a small boat trailer with your truck. It was made to do that and you are fine. Now try pulling a fully loaded 60 foot trailer... up hill. Won't work so well.

I have put together some links to info pages, including one regarding what you need to run TS3. That link doesn't allow for things like Kinky World, but you can still see the increased need as you increase the mods load.

I'm also seeing KW build 399, which is a bug filled build.

People also ask

Is AMD Radeon R4 good?
The AMD Radeon R4 is an integrated DirectX 12 graphics card found in some AMD APUs (for example, the A6-6310). ... The performance of the Radeon R4 is roughly equivalent to a Radeon HD 7470M or the Intel HD Graphics 4200. Typically, only older or less demanding games like FIFA will play fluently.6 days ago

It should be on a newer laptop. Right click your launcher icon, click properties, compatibility tab and choose run as Windows 7 or 8.

Build 375 is generally considered the most stable version released as public. As having been released by Oniki herself, here at one time, there does not appear to be any legal issues to reposting it on my help page. As for other builds that have not been publicly released, you have two choices... one is to become her patron on Patreon, or two, find a pirate version somewhere. They are out there. However, it is against LL's TOS to post pirated material or links here.

I am not an expert on Passion (not really an expert on KW, but have been using it and have more experience with it). What I understand is that Passion is more of an extension/ expansion of the old Animated Woohoo mod. It is more of an add-on mod, not a core altering mod like KW. It does much less... it TRIES to do much less, so it does not create as many game issues (potential issues) as KW can.

Twilightstorm is active here, and will answer questions and updates his mod regularly, whereas Oniki has been MIA for almost 2 years, and KW questions are answered by people willing to share their personal experiences with no connection to Oniki. So.... you have options. )))

it looks like all i needed was KW Build 375. i havnt had the problems i was having before. i did put Win7 on that laptop also. so idk if that helped or not. i did try it on other lenovo laptop i have. a x140e with Win10 and it ran fine on there. though im going to upgrade that laptop back to win7 and see what happens since that laptop is alot smaller and its more what i want when it comes to playing sims 3 with mods like this

Which in the case of the Sims 4 they didn't need to do since it's a 64bit game :unamused:

Sure!

The newer version of KinkyWorld is much much better in the performance aspect to compare with the old version here in LL.

In the last several releases, there's a lack of new features introduced, mostly just fixes and tweaks.

At first, I'm kinda disappointed with the lack of new features, but now I really appreciate it much.

But you also need to do a lot of tweak to the game as I mentioned above, to make the game flawlessly smooth.

I had the same issue as yours in the past and it forced me to play in a tiny world, using minimal CC and mods, etc.

But now it's not a problem anymore, I even play in a huge world with tons of sims families inside, and 21gb of CC and mods.

also whats your thoughts on Passion ? i toke a look at it and from i can tell its not a hard to run like kinky?

Passion is more like just woohoo to me, while KinkyWorld is more like the whole story, the world of woohoo.

Both have advantages and disadvantages.

Passion has more woohoo spots and the animation transition is smooth.

While KinkyWorld for the woohoo is not as good as Passion, but there's a drug, alcohol, kinky interaction, prostitution career, kinky chat, etc. But those extra features what make KinkyWorld runs much heavier.

Personally, I still feel EA knows that TS4 was simply tooooo simplified. It is the complete opposite of TS3. 4 is 1/2 kilo of poop in a 64 bit sack, while 3 has always been 64 kilos in a 32 bit sack. Don't have 4 and have no interest in it aside from maybe some CC conversions to 3, but what I've read, and youtube videos, it looks like TS1 game play with better graphics. 1/2 step up from Nintendo 64!

And I still think TS5 is a mess in development. Same trailers for 3 years, and still no release date. I really think we will see a 64 bit TS3 for Windows before TS5... and probably Origin only download.

Unless Microsoft drops 32bit support a 64bit Sims 3 will never happen. The only reason Mac got a 64bit Sims 3 was because Mac dropped 32bit support.

They only started development 2 yrs ago and is still only in the planning stage and team gathering stage. The problem is that most of the trailers that have been seen was either fan made or confused with Sims Freeplay. Has EA even released an Official Trailer yet?

It's not the mods making it unplayable, it's your processing power. Sims 3 is more CPU intensive as there's a lot of ticks going on, every sim is.. well.. simulated. Do you use NRAAS mods? If you use Story Prog you can go into general options then for each of the individual options you can increase the speed manager (increase the amount of time between ticks)

Also I see you're using KW, try Passion instead, as others mentioned its much more lightweight. I didn't see any performance drops from Passion (but i have a half decent PC finally now, so can't promise you the same results - but worth a try right?)

Be sure to install overwatch and errortrap too. Sometimes the stuttering can happen as there's a baby birth glitch with Woohooer solves (you can use woohooer with passion btw, they play nicely together, passion even uses karma simtra etc!)
