No Mods with Paranormal Stuff?

Hi guys,

 

I wanted to try out the new Paranormal Stuff-Pack, but I got the info when starting the game, that I can't create a lot with the needed lot trait as long as I have mods installed.... but Sims without mods? That's kind of boring :D

Has anyone any workaround or solution?

Sounds like EA BS to me, is something not working?

If you have mods installed you just have to make sure they are updated for the 1.70 game patch.

And there are a few that only work if you have the pack itself installed, and some are even for bug fixes.

If you have a specific problem in game you will need to explain what it is here at LL.

Maybe a corrupted save, i always clean my save files after an update.

I was actually surprised that not that many mods needed updating, not had any LE's so, so far so good.

I don't have the Paranormal stuff pack installed, just the update.

 

I ain't afraid of no ghosts, but i just don't like the look of those pokemon ghosts!

They could really do with a reskin, but who you gonna call eh...not the guru's! ;)

Not interest in that pack either.

EA is too lazy(cheap) to bother adding a real Occult for Bonehilda even.

They cheat everything with skins and masks. 

I'm still watching and collecting mod updates before I update my game, no hurry.

Yea, the Bonehilda lazyness was really disappointing, they are lazy though. -the "Gurus" No matter how much people keep defending them.

Now they are thinking about using the modding community, and even had youtubers to build lots in this latest pack. Hahaha.

That's a typical win-win situation. No need to pay the 'Gurus' any more and free content by modders or youtubers looks and works better so also the customers are happy - hopefully they continue paying for it.

 

At least the pack adds a new career so it's not too bad. One may release a mod to replace the pokemons with haunted breasts and genitals and use DD to add a rape trait to Bonehilda so normal people get scared.

I actually don't know if anything isn't working - I got the "what's new" thing after the first start with the pack, when I entered a town, I got the hint how to select a lot/house to make it paranormal, but that option is just not there (you know, like where you can choose a vet or shop or cafe or whatever, there should be a new one, something like spooky lot or so).

And since I can't make one of those paranormal lots, I don't see if the pack itself works, since all the paranormal stuff works from there, apparently. I see the clothes, hair and furniture, though. Also, there is the new career with the freelancer-job. Don't know if that's that though.

ok, since you suggested it's a mod bug and not the game itself (which I thought was legit, haha), I took out half of my mods, checked, again half of those and so on, until I found the bad boy: basemental drugs. Seems like ghosts are not into drugs.

Let's see what this new pack is all about. I don't expect to keep me busy for more than an hour, typical for Sims, but hey, it was a present...

Even without the pack I have a lot trait (ghost icon) available to create a haunted house. Playing without Basemental at the moment, though.

I had the same problem, turned out Neia's More Clubs per sim-mod was the culprit in my case. It can be from the most unlikely source, so make a thourough check in the linked thread if any known offenders are on the list, and if none are you'll have to do the 50/50 method of elimination until you find the guilty mod.

yes, I did those in that order. I suspected Basemental Drugs from pretty early on, so it was faster than I thought. I liked the mod, though, but since the new pack isn't really that great, I'll probably be activating the mod soon again anyways...

I have basemental, both drugs and gangs, and have had no issues with the paranormal pack. Did you update to the latest version?

yes, I just downloaded the newest version minutes before I found that it was the conflicting one... don't really know why! But really, I think I'll add BD again and don't care about the new pack... it's not really worth it

Basemental updated his venue list for the new pack, that may have been the cause of problem you had.

Make sure you grab the updated venue list and delete the old one. (only have one venue list) by one author in your mods folder.

Also Don't forget to Delete the "localthumbcache.package" in your "Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4" folder.-

 You should do this (Every time) you add/delete anything in your "Mods" folder.
