NME2800 Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Hey! Long time modder and FINALLY got all the mods I've ever wanted to play nice with one another without random crashes and such, but now I have a weird issue where any human NPC I encounter in the wild won't attack me. I.E. Witches, Bandits, Forsworn... Animals and anything else attack just fine, and if I attack them they'll attack me, but for the life of me I can't figure out which mod effects NPCs designating targets as their suppose to. I've checked Realm of Lorkhan to see if it was their faction ability, but nope. If anyone has any idea what mod could be causing it, or maybe one of my settings needs to be adjusted, that'd be great! List of mods: ZazAnimation: Nope XP32: Nope Wintermyst Enchantments of Skyrim: Doubtful Unofficial Skyrim Legendary patch: Doubtful Unique Uniques: Nope UFO: Doubtful Trees HD: Nope The Oblivion Realms Series: Doubtful Summermyst Enchantments of Skyrim: Doubtful Static Mesh Improvement: Nope SOS: Nope SL Stories: Doubtful SL Stories Devious: Doubtful SL Dialogues SL Defeat: Maybe? Andromeda Unique standing stones: Nope The Bijin Collection: Nope Deadly Dragons: Nope I started to skip around near the end since I doubt a lot of the texture mods would really have anything to do with this, but if anyone has any ideas that'd be great
lelelehue Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Probably won't help much, but an idea I have for this it to use the ingame console to see if any plugin is modifying those folks that are supposed to be hostile.

If this is what you mean, I don't really see anything there that could cause it

But after trying what they recommended, and taking it a step further and completely uninstalling DA after disabling the mod in MCM AND running all of the utilities, I can safely say that's not the problem in my case... Also, I can still attack the bandits and then they actually attack, but it's only when I damage them. All other NPCs will flee until they take damage as well.. Which isn't the end of the world, but it's kind of cheeky how I can plot and plan how to handle a room full of people by picking them off one at a time...
travelmedic Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Do you have TES5Edit installed to see if anything is altering your factions?
Grey Cloud Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 It won't help your problem but this Wintermyst Enchantments of Skyrim is just the old version of this Summermyst Enchantments of Skyrim

Unfortunately I just got a new computer and don't have Skyrim installed on it yet, or else I'd screenshot it. If your TES5Edit is installed correctly, when you run it you should see a list of all of your active esm and esp files. If you click the "+" next to Skyrim, it will expand and you'll see stuff like NPC, Armor, Objects, etc. If you keep expanding the categories, I think (not 100% positive) you'll find a section called "Factions" and then that will have subsections for Bandits, Forsworn, Whiterun, Acadias Cauldron, and so on and so forth. Look to see if any of the boxes those factions are in are colored red. If the box is colored red, then single click on it and in the right pane of TES5Edit you'll see columns that list the mods that conflict with those factions, if any. I don't know that factions are your problem, but it's possible you have a mod that adds your character to those factions as a friend, hence the reason they don't attack.

Load all mods into xedit, click skyrim.esm and expand factions. I Would also look in skyrim.esm and expand non-player character and look at Player to see what faction your player has. have you tested on new game? i would install alt start for testing with new game

So I see what you mean now, and Bandit factions are in red! Looking deeper into it I can see what had changed it.. BUT I'm also seeing that Skyrim has it listed as Friend as well... Is that bad? Or anything to think on?

I think what the problem was was that Deviously Helpless was getting stuck and leaving me on Friendly with Bandits and such, trying everything without it to see if the problem occurs again!
NME2800 Posted January 30, 2021 Author Posted January 30, 2021 Ok! I've been playing for about a day now with the Deviously Helpless mod disabled and the problem is now gone! Thanks everyone!
