Placing Stairs in Split-level Room

So I decided to try out the new Strip Club feature in Wicked Whims. Instead of making a brand-new club or using one of the clubs made by other players, I decided to convert the bar in Strangerville by adding a "secret" basement.

The project was going pretty smoothly, at first; in that screenshot you can see the basic layout. You might also see the problem. To create the stage for the dancers, I used walls to separate the stage area from the rest of the main room. Then I used the "Platform" function on the room to change the level, so the stage could be visually separated from the audience:

The screenshots don't quite show the process, because I wasn't taking them step-by-step. In the shot above, you can see that I had started sectioning the raised "stage" room into smaller rooms; the stage, a changing room, and a small two-square space that I needed so I could put a locked door at the top of the stairs. That was all going fine. And then I tried to place some stairs so the dancers could actually get up into the stage "room". Everything looked fine while I was positioning the stairs, but the moment I placed them a gaping void appeared beneath them. It looks like the floor tile just vanished. I don't know if the problem is just visual or if a sim stepping into that space will tumble into the infinite void. :v

I can make it look better if I raise or lower the stage's "platform":

... but as you can see, the floor is still gone. I might be able to cover it up with a rug or something, but I don't know if it'll cause some kind of problem later on.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to prevent the floor from disappearing?

I don't think that'll affect anything tbh....try it and see.

You're right; it doesn't seem to affect a sim's ability to use the stairs... but it still looks terrible. I can sort of cover it up with a rug and the "move objects" cheat, but the results are... not fantastic:

I'd still like to find a less band-aid solution to the missing floor tiles, if anyone has encountered the problem before!

While I'd still like to find an solution to the problem described above, it looks like it'll be academic as far as my strip club goes. I noticed after testing the stairs that the ground in front of the bar has also disappeared, which renders the whole lot unusable. ><;

This really sucks, because I'm going to need to scrap the entire project. It might not look like much, but I spent at least an hour setting up the basement before all of this. :c

Try adding a wall around the missing floor at ground level, (the idea is to enclose it).

This should add a floor.

Then add floor tiles/covering.

Then use the hammer to destroy each wall section when done.

You might have to remove some things to build a wall.

Unfortunately, I've already reverted the custom version of the lot back to the default version so I can't test that idea. I'll try that if I ever run into the problem again, though!

I can confirm that this works.

I had the same thing happen on a lot i downloaded, it was the ceiling that was missing.

Yes I use the same trick to use a flat roof on single level houses.

Just build a wall around the second level and it makes a flat roof/ceiling.
