Sex doesn't work outdoors. I set it to a very high degree of autonomy. In parks and beaches, all Sims enter the bathroom. Without walls, I never have sex.

The bathroom/bedroom preference is normal behavior and so is the tendency to avoid public places (dunno, if Sims with the Exhibitionist trait also care about public spots).

Also, sex autonomy isn't everything. There are other settings to prevent sex in front of children or some such, and Sim preferences are also taken into account (starting with gender prefs, but also personality archetypes and attractiveness, if you have those features enabled). "Always accept" in Settngs>Sex>Cheats can override this if set to half (still respects gender prefs and some other things) or full (anythiing goes).

Finally, animations are always tagged for specific locations. If you only have bed, bathroom and "up against a wall"-type animations, you won't see that much action outdoors (locations here would be floor, bench, and so on).

Sims just don't use the ground or floors anymore, well maybe 1 out of a thousand they might.

You can force them if you click on the ground and select Wicked and pick any available sims.

 

Shift+Click on Toilets or other objects and Select Wicked/'Disable for Autonomous Sex'.

Some bathrooms on public lots have enough room to add a love seat or living room chair for use.

Placing those objects out on the open sand/grass areas will almost never get used.

 

Sims like privacy locations first, then comfort locations second.

Experiment with the settings below.

 

WW Settings/Sex Settings/Autonomy Settings/Autonomy Specifics/Autonomy Location Styles:

Outside Lots Locations OFF (ON if your out in the wild doing off lot exploring)

Outdoor Style Locations ON (This switch doesn't work very well anymore IMO)

Risky Style Locations ON

Comfort Style Locations ON

Privacy Style Locations OFF (This will cut way down on Sims using the Bathrooms unless they have no other choices)

                                                 (But on some public lots the Sims might just refuse to have any autonomous sex at all)

I just got an answer from Turbodrive from Patron. Quite a long time ago, the probability of having sex in public places has decreased.

I saw an experiment on outdoor sex in your old forum post. We are thinking same now. I hope the turbodriver will solve this problem.

And I hope to add a feature that allows for very frequent sex in a particular area.
