SspongzZ Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 I've noticed after last update, all strip club clients just stand around outside where they spawn, maybe about 4-5 of them actually enter the club. Is this noticed by anyone? Great mod by the way

LancerEvoX Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 Most likely a simulation lag issue. Probably too many things and sims on the lot.
BatDood Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 I've had this happen for a while now. There's always a Drinker standing outside. Socializers and Loiterers seem to find their way in no problem though. I haven't been playing with strip clubs over the past few updates so I can't really comment on whether there's a notable difference in the number of sims standing outside though. This has been a minor issue for me since strip clubs were released. If I found a sim stuck outside, I'd just use MCCC to send them home and get a fresh sim who knows what they actually came for.
procian Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Not just strip clubs...my sims come home from work/school and just stand outside the house...same with sims I invite over, they just stand outside, don't even knock on the door

Just a small heads up if you have the Dine Out pack and take your sims to restaurants. If you use the No Empty Venues When Arriving mod, restaurants will be filled when you arrive and from my experience, meals take a lot longer to get. I removed that mod quite some time ago for that reason because dining out can be a very long experience to begin with. You could always give it a go and see how it works for your playstyle. It's great for Nightclubs though. It's nice to have the club filled and hopping when you arrive.

Absolute Legend, Any clues on why npcs keep doing push ups all the time?

JD_Mortal Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 A few things can mess the game up... Besides stupid "waiting to interact", when the person is not actually available or has quit trying to interact. (Someone can start an interaction, then "go home", leaving the interaction hanging until they actually leave the lot.) Things that shouldn't and should be in your strip club... 1: High quality chairs or love-seats, 4-8, flagged as lap-dance spots. (Not bar-stools.) 2: High quality chairs, with a small table, near the bar, but NOT at the bar. (You don't want people clogging-up the bar area. Small square tables allows easy clean-up by a janitor from one standing spot.) 3: Room around a pole or dance spot, which is about 4-6 blocks away, for people to gather and throw money. (They will not go up to the spot, unless they are just talking about non-work stuff. They will stand real far away and throw money, from absurd distances. I am sure this was to compensate for building a 3x3 platform around a pole, but it is odd without a platform.) 4: No more than 4 "viewing" seats per dancer. Most will want to stand and watch anyways. The ones throwing money, at least. (If they sit, the customers will start talking to one another and ignoring the dancers, or talking to the dancers and disrupting the dance.) 5: Fuck the DJ... Get a simple radio. Customers will ignore the girls and dance if there is a DJ there. The higher his skill and celebrity status, as a spotlighter... The less money you will make from your strippers. (Until they make a special "stripper DJ" and special "strip-club mix", which disables dancing and makes everyone ignore the DJ... It will not work as you think it will.) 6: At least 2-3 of each... Showers, Toilets that don't talk, Sinks, Trash-cans, Coffee-machines, Vending-machines, Dishwashers and 1-2 janitors. (The longer they can stay "fresh and full", the better. Janitors will drop shit on the ground if they can't find an unused dishwasher, sink or trash-can. Also, UPGRADE EVERYTHING. There should honestly be a special "commercial-grade option", for doing all upgrades at once+.) 7: Put a door to your dance stage and only allow specific sims to enter it. The door can be hidden behind a runway-stage wall. But it will keep people from gathering on stage. (Note, you can use the ultra-low "not a wall" border to isolate the dancers too. However, you need a gate or door on a wall, to be able to block people from entering.) 8: Manually set a bartender, or do it yourself, off-the-clock. (That is like having a free employee.) The game will pick one dancer to run the bar. (That should be a specific "hire", as well as a "DJ", who is not the "normal DJ". But, it is not, so DIY instead. 9: Can't find a person in your household in your hire list... Just have a free slot open for hiring and have them use their phone to pick "Work as a stripper", from the stirp-club menu, not the actual "jobs" menu. (The number of employees can be up to 12, if you manually set it with a cheat-code. The list of hires can only be set to 100, I think, if you cheat that too. However, my world has over 500+ sims and more than half are unemployed. I just couldn't hire my mother as a stripper, because she wouldn't show in the list!) 10: If you use cheats-UI, it will not work for stripping skills. You have to use MC-Cheats for skills, to set the values. The biggest thing that messes-up the game is having sims with all needs being filled. If there is no NEED to have fun, they will not do anything to have fun. If there is no NEED to socialize, they will not do anything social. However, because the game eventually "tries everything in a room" to see if it has something a sim needs... The more crap there is, the longer it takes to select some stupid random "idle action". (Like talking, pushups, playing with something, dancing, etc.) As for the "stuck NPC issue". The game is doing the same thing for them, but at the same time, the actions are stacking-up, while the game looks at every item in the lot. It is a stupid way to do it, as it is totally backwards. (It should be looking at the greatest "needs", then simply look at a short list of items which is pre-sorted to fill those needs fastest. But there is a LOT of stupid choices for automation in this game.) In the latest updates, this is getting worse, for some stupid reason. (Mods have NOTHING to do with it.) Someone has screwed-up the code somewhere, for some stupid add-on to work, and borked-up the rest of the whole game, again... One trick that seems to work well, for me. I pause the game with the "~" key, for about 2 seconds. Then return speed to normal "1". Suddenly all sims seem to be moving again and not "stuck", doing nothing or the last action they started, but they were actually done with it, ages ago. It's just a subconscious action for me now. I can sort-of tell when it happens, because almost everyone stops moving and you see a lot of mid-frozen animations. (Like contemplating a painting, or being partially through a dance move, stuck in a squatting position.) At first I BLAMED the prior mentioned "fixes" that help unstick sims, as being the cause. (I had gotten it to reduce drinking and eating, before I no longer needed to eat and drink, but they still do it.) However, I noticed that the exact same shit is happening in the base-game, without any mods too. I have two installs, just to test for this garbage. The game is on its last leg. They have squeezed-out every last cent from legitimate paying customers, who are down into the hundreds now, by steam sales. They have resorted to giving the base game away for free, and that has led to some horrible reviews, because it is so borked-up now. (It is not currently "free", but I have seen it randomly advertised as free, days after the promotions have ended. I never catch the actual deal, when it happens. )
