LEs with newest mod versions but old game version

so, stupid question but:

aren't all mods backwards compatible?

before updating my game I just downloaded the newest versions of every single (script) mod I have. But apparently something is still wrong. LE shows my errors of:

MCCC, Nisa, WW, UI Cheat Extensions and BM

Game Version is still 1.67.45.1020
MCCC: 7.5.2
Nisa: 2.7f
WW 161b
UI CE: 1.20.1
BM 7.13.132

downloaded all the versions like 10mins ago :D

So I am afraid of updating the game with broken mods ^^ I still can go back to older mod versions for now, but after updating the game, there is no way back

New mods with old game = :(

You need to update your game or go back to older mod versions...

Some people are having crash problems but I haven't had that so far....all my mods are up to date.

I'm holding off on updating my game as there are a couple of mods I still need that haven't been updated yet.

I also expect another game patch/bug fix next week.

Some 'fail to load' and CTD problems were possibly related to Windows Updates, I assume Win10 of course.

so all those LEs really were because of "new mods" and "old game"

Glad it works for you.

As a general rule of thumb: I never update any script mods unless I have too.

Meaning only after a nasty game update, but I collect all those mods updates well before I update my game.

Noticed quite a few mods even mention 'not backward compatible with previous game versions', UI Cheats is one of them.

I should probably clean out my downloads folder as I have quite a few different versions of certain mods that are useless now.

well
this is what I do ;) I have a text file with all my script mods listed with the current (installed) version, so that I don't lose track :D

and I have all the script mods listed as bookmarks, where to download from ;) everytime I (have to) update the base game I check all the mods and compare them to much current version.

But, tbh honest, I did not check the backwards compatibility for the mods  - which now "got me in trouble" :D

and usually I make a backup of my mods folder every once in a while, just to be sure, that I don't fuck it up ^^

Good idea...

I'm not very organized for updating my script mods but the main ones are easy to remember.

It's usually the smaller odd ones that bite me later on because I overlook them although quite a few aren't scripts anyway.

But oddly enough I have some mods that are quite old and never need updates but most are no longer maintained or updated.

Kind-of been a learned habit for me from early on I guess.
