Skyrim crashing after opening the skyrim launcher after a long time

Hi, i need help with my skyrim. I havent played my skyrim in al leats two months, today I wanted to play so I openen it usng SKSE, everything was working as intended but it was in windowed mode and I anted to put it in fullscreen, because there are no options like that neither on the game or the main menu, i had to close everything and open the launcher, when I opened it said that it was going to check for the graphics card, i clicked ok, then went to options, fullscreen and modified some other stuff like lod's and stuff. then closed everything and opened SKSE again, it loaded the bethestda logo, and the skyrim logo apeared but inmediatle after that it just crashes, first I thought it was maybe becuase i had it in fullscreen now, so i went back and started modifing stuff, but no mather what i did, the game still crashed, so I came here to ask ofr help, hope someone can help me.

 

P.S. I use mod organizer for my mods

@Helsong55 Launcher breaks many Skyrim settings if you have mods, try download bethini and change settings in this program

Skse launcher would be preferred.

tried it, modified stuff but the crashing is still present, I don't know what could have happened, the only thing I did was put it in fullscreen

WTF? I loaded another profile and the game now works?, mmmm, some mods are diferent, so I'm guessing is a mod problem, but I still don't understand can could have happened, the only thing i did was put it in fullscreen

 

Edit: ok, cloned the mods actives and created a new profile without the display options modified and now it works?, everything is exactly the same exept the display preferences, so I guess is solved, i'll just use the bethini from now on, thanks @yarz96 for that option.

If the launcher said it was going to detect your hardware it means it completely replaced your config files for a new set of vanilla presets. So no, it's not a single setting. By using the vanilla launcher you lost any manual edit you've made to your config files in the past. Not sure which settings in particular would make your game crash at that point, but be careful when you use such tools (or make the habit of keeping backups) as things aren't that simple when we talk about Skyrim with mods.

If you ran Skyrim Launcher then it would reactivate any mods you had as deactivated. This means it could well take you past the 255 plug-in limit.

If you need to edit ini or plugins settings when using MO do it from within MO you can also use bethini through there as well.

Don't ever use the skyrim launcher it can screw up all the things everyone has already mentioned.
