Consistent CTD after about four or five minutes, potentially corrupted savefile?

So I'm consistently crashing to my desktop after a few minutes now after moving some mods from Mod Organizer to Vortex (Mod Organizer wasn't running the NetScriptFramework so if I used it to run the game I couldn't even track crashes to begin with.)

Every time, after just a few minutes, the game crashes and this pops up:

I only have one theory to what could be causing it, and that would be me having to change a plugin for custom race compatibility with the All Geared Up mod, as I had accidentally set it to be an ESL when it needed to be an ESP, and was thus causing a cyclic interaction between itself and the mod.

Did me removing the ESL corrupt my save file? I was half considering restarting anyway, I just wanna know if I've screwed myself.

Removing plugins often breaks games.  So your guess is probably right.  Have you tried cleaning your saved game?  Before abandoning it, try that first.  If all else fails, try a new game and see if you have the same issue.

Well, the good news is that the save appears to be fine.

Upon leaving Solitude the regular crashes stop and I can play the game unfettered now. I've been wary to return to Solitude since then but I'm gonna go back to test and see. Given I planned to join the Legion on this playthrough...it complicates matters.

Well you have options for getting in there.

Two gates, coq, fast travel, console moveto etc.

fwiw, sometimes you just have to stay away from a given city for a little while. I have no idea why, but I've had consistent crashes in White Run (specifically the hold), Solitude, and Rifken on several different occasions, then stayed away for several/many game days and played elsewhere, returned later, and all was once again well with the world.

I can only assume it has something to do with a navmesh somewhere even though the plugin I had to remove had nothing to do with navmeshes.

Such is the joy of modding.

From what I have seen it is more about spawns and spawn points.  Hence the stay away for 3 in game days and it resolves itself.

This sounds more plausible to me.

(and PS> thanks for the explanation)
