"What mod is this?" III

you can remove the horn with nifskope!

Not really a shame since it's quite easy to remove with nifskope. Just bring up the Lunaluna_0 mesh in nifskope right click the horn thingy then go down to block and select remove then use save as to overwrite the Lunaluna_0 nif then do the same to the Lunaluna_1 nif. Just remember what you do to one nif you have to do to the other nif as well or it will not change in game.

Really?  Pardon my ignorance (very new to the modding scene), but how does that work, exactly?  Do I literally just download NifSkope, open the file with it, and make any changes I desire?

Nifskope is free to download. You can just install the mod then open nifskope click load follow the path to the folder in your skyrim folder that holds the nifs for the the outfit double click it and it will load up into nifskope. Or if you want it to be permanent you can unzip the rar into a empty folder on the desktop make the corrections and then rar it back up. Since the armor in question comes in pieces and the horn is one of the pieces you can use just nifskope to remove it.

If a armor is in 1 piece then you would have to use something like gimp2 with .dds plugin and do the removing by modifying the texture file and then overwriting it. You may also have to add a NiAlphaProperty to the nif to get the changes to show up. If the armor is in one piece you also have to find out if there is a body under it or not. No body means you can't do anything unless you use something like 3dmax to port a body into it otherwise you will have big gap and you will be able to see into your players body.

Nifskope can also render most things it wil have trouble rendering anything with multiple files like head files. To render a outfit click render then settings then follow the path to skyrim click data then hit ok it should render. Same for if the file is on the desktop. Sometimes it's trial and error which folder to click on to get most things to render.

I see.  Thank you for taking the time to explain.

I do have one other question.  By "in pieces", do you mean that the pieces of the armor are separated/separable in-game (like boots and gauntlets would be), or do you mean that the creator of the armor put it together using many smaller separate pieces instead of, I guess, sculpting the entire thing out of one large 'piece'? (Hope that makes sense.)

after 1 min of searching I saw it from jack site lewl

It was quite easy to find just had to find Carry0833 profile and search latest posts. The download link though is the a Baidu link which a joke to try to download from as of late as everything takes huge ass amount of time to download something from it or it starts shooting out Failed-network errors. A 2. something takes a huge amount of time download when it shouldn't.

@luls In pieces means if you click the outfit or whatever you click and only it hightlights that is pieces if you click the outfit and the whole outfit hight lights that means it's not in pieces and you won't be able to remove one piece from a outfit if the whole thing high lights as it will remove the whole thing. When you click something to remove from a armor hold the mouse down and rotate the model to make sure only what you clicked is high lighted so that you don't remove something that you didn't want to some outfits will have more then one thing connected to them. Also if you make a mistake just reload the nif it will make the nif turn back to the way it was as long as it wasn't saved as.

Ah.  And I'd imagine there's no real way to tell whether an item is in pieces or not aside from opening it up in a program like NifSkope?

Not really it's more hit and miss trial and error and some common sense full body outfits are generally 1 piece not always but it's mostly trial and error download throw it into nifskope and check. When I first started out I downloaded different things just to tinker with. Found out things by trial and error like using gimp2 with eraser option and setting Opacity to anything but 100% to make a dress/outfit/armor transparent. The lasso tool for gimp2 is great for tracing around something that you want to change as what is inside of the lasso is all that is affected. Also depends on the modder some make their outfits one piece while others make their things in pieces just like some put bodies under the armor and some don't.

Your Welcome also remember to get the .dds plugin if you plan to do anything using gimp you will need it for gimp to be able to load .dds files. The .dds files you only mess with are the ones that say like (example outfit.dds) anything with n.dds m.dds and so forth are not to be messed with as they are for something else.

I don't think JackGa does anything in UNP it's always CBBE. I haven't tried the mod out yet as it's getting late but looking at it in niskope it's cbbe as the nipple textures have migrated up. But since the outfit covers everything you won't even notice that it's not unp except maybe for the chest size.

Sorry off topic...

question:

1.Is it hard to convert armor from oblivion to skyrim?

2.Is it hard to convert armor between cbbe and unp?

3.which of the above is more difficult?
