PsychoMachina Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 This may be a seriously stupid question, but what mods exactly do I need and in what order do I have to arrange them? Downloaded CBBE, race compatibility, monli race and elin race, but I can't choose any non-vanilla race at the start of a new game. Which Monli race mod? Kashim's Monli Race Edited v2.1? My updates of Kashim's mod? As for the Elin race, on the first page I have labeled which files as REQUIRED and the rest as OPTIONAL. The required files consist of the Main Pack and one of the Body Packs (CBBE or UNP). Regarding the Tera Body version, there is only the Tera Body Main Pack without any additional body packs. If you install the Main Pack + Body Pack, the race uses a master file and the body replacer uses a plugin. Keep the plugin (ElinRace-Use <custom body>.esp) below any other Elin mods and any mods you have that alters your character in some way. For the record, the Monli and Elin races are standalone and do not need Caliente's CBBE body. However, if you have the Xvision mod (replaces the vanilla child race) then it will most likely conflict with the Elin race. I don't know if it's the same with the Monli race. So How are the GT Elins going? I know some people will not like hearing this, but I'm starting over. I was almost done when I finally was able to test them. The male Elin had all of the female assets (body, textures, Elin ears and tails), but there was a serious neck gap. The rage moment came when I chose the female Elin and the game kept crashing. Apparantly, the game recognized the male as female and any changes I made to the actual female would show up for the males. I'm thinking the game omitted the actual male gender and replaced it with the actual female gender, so when I chose the female the game tried to access what it believed were non-existent race info. Results = CTD. I'm giving this one more chance, if it doesn't work then I'll leave the default male alone which means no futa Elins. EDIT: Okay, maybe I'll include a futa body replacer for the females.

Whether I can add the female ECE morphs to the males is something else, but I won't know until I try it out. Anyway, if the futa Elins work out, I might include one for the male Castanics and High Elves. The failure of the last attempt proved helpful in that the futa body I was including uses an equippable "male assets". While starting over, I found this among my collection of body replacers. This one is different as it is included with the body mesh and for both CBBE and UNP.

The male Elins still need some work with the ECE-CME morphs. I also have to add additional colors and warpaints. I recently finished adding 50 eyebrows (numenume). Then I have to test in game both with and without the current Elins. There might be some more.

However, the skeleton must either be a beast skeleton or one with tail bones (ex. xpms) or else she will CTD because of the Elin tails. UPDATE: Looks like this thread got trimmed down. silvernirvash Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 hello i saw something about male elins? i play tera and i know that there are no male elins in their race but im still curious about this. does the latest version of the elin race come with the male elins having bodies similar to the female elins? or is it actually the female elins bodies themselves just being put with the male heads? IF it is the female body of the elin being used why not just create a custom male body similar to the female body to fix this issue? take away the breasts make the thighs ever so slightly thicker or possibly thinner depending on what you consider masculine in this particular case lol and maybe possibly create feminine yet NOT revealing versions of their armors fit for that new version of the body. that way those of us who wish to use the male elin won't have to deal with tricking the game into thinking we're using a different body just to get the appearance right lol. this could very well be the first official "trap" race of the skyrim modding community unless im mistaken about this.

I originally was planning on leaving the males as is (Skyrim vanilla races), but later decided to make them "female" by assigning them female heads, attributes, and a futa body. I know the male counterparts to the Elins are Poporis, but since there are no models ported to Skyrim, I am left to refering to the male counterparts of the Skyrim Elins as "male Elins", but only when referring to the Girls of Tera mod. They look great so far, and I hope there are some face editing options - they don't look that, but I'd make them look more "smooth" and a bit less anime-y. Like I said, they still look damn awesome. Will the tail/ears change with hair or will it work in another way?
silvernirvash Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 wait wait wait....so its using the standard UNP body? or is it using the "new elin" race custom body? i have the other mod installed for the elin race and i love using it because of the unique body type it has and all the armor mods i have installed seem to fit around its body perfectly even though they aren't MADE for that body. so yeah does it use that special elin specific body even the MALE one (just with a penor of course) or does it use the adult UNP body?

That is clearly one of the most used female bodies, probably edited with bodyslide to have a similar shape to the original elins. But THESE five screenshots are for the Girls of Tera - Elin upcoming mod. The links at the top of this page are for The normal elin race, with their own body shape edited or converted from the original meshes from tera.

However and maybe this isn't a justified concern, but work on the elin race isn't going to end, is it? I've looked at the screenshots for the Girls of Tera mod and truthfully, it looks very much like a dwarven race with everything. Not that there's anything wrong with that mind you, but for some people like myself it's just not the right type of mod. Also if work on the elin race is discontinued in favor of the Girls of Tera won't there be issues and problems converting to a new race? As far as I've gone in the game I don't really want to start all over just to use future races or updates. So far I've been making some of my own tiny personal tweaks, like converting the wolf ears/tail set to work with the custom hair packs, it works the same way as the other ears/tail styles set up in the facial slot. I also found this mod which works perfect with the Race Menu mod on the Skyrim Nexus site to tweak my elin's proportions to look more in-line with the elin race from TERA. Widened the hips, shrank the torso a little using the UNP body and adjusted the head size.

The screenshots I posted was only to show what progress I had made since I kept pushing back the release date. Here are some of the current screenshots. It's still a work in progress. There should not be any conflicts between the New Elin race and Girls of Tera because each will be standalone, that is, no files are shared between the two. I'm aiming to make these two playable together, for example, having a GT Elin, Castanic, or High Elf pc with the current Elin npcs and followers. I have not given up on the current Elins. I am using Enhanced Character Edit with Character Making Extender. I know RaceMenu is popular, but ECE-CME is ever evolving and just yesterday I downloaded the latest version of CME. The author of CME even made a patch for the Skyrim 1.9 beta update. Do you know he is the one that made the ShowRaceMenu PreCache Killer? In case anyone is wondering, there is a breast slider that works with the current custom Elin bodies. It ranges from almost perfect flat-chest to CHSBHC size. From what I can see, the "new elin race" is basically done, and the Girls of Tera elin is a completely different mod, that just happen to be related to the same type of character. As I mentioned before, the New Elin race is not really 'done'. I have the Fox Cafe X mod that I would like to modify by replacing the npcs with the current Elins. Maybe include the GT races as options. I would like to also replace the orphans for Hearthfire and when I get Dragonborn, I'll see what I can do with that one.
