Botched Surgery Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I'm brand new to modding and was able to fix some other issues, but i'm completely lost on what happening here. When ever I try to have sex with an NPC I get all of the dialogue options leading to the animation, but just when the animation is supposed to start the NPC just walks away and nothing happens. It doesn't get recorded in the sexLab Diary and have no idea how to fix it. I loaded all of the animation using FNIS using MO and created a mod with the override file that was created and then enabled it. I followed this tutorial: https://wiki.step-project.com/Fores_New_Idles_in_Skyrim. I am completely stumped on what to do and haven't been able to find any fixes online. I named the mod created from the override file "FNIS" I don't know if this is important but I manually installed FNIS as MO said that "the content of <data> does not look valid. I installed FNIS behavior 7.6.

I installed FNIS behavior 7.6. You need to fix the folder structure in that case, not workaround it by installing a mod manually. You should attempt to fix your current FNIS install in MO (or just remove it and do a proper install) and remove the manual install you did. Example: On 1/9/2020 at 8:29 PM, dontknowdontcaredontask said: Note the red message saying the content doesn't look valid, pressing Ok and moving on without fixing this will not install the mod correctly. In the case of FNIS in particular you need to: Install “FNIS Behavior”, in the Install mods window expand the "FNIS Behavior..." folder and right click in the "Data" folder you'll see inside. Then select "Set as <data> directory", the message should be in green confirming the folder structure is valid. Press Ok to finish the installation. If you downloaded "FNIS Creature Pack", install it too. Repeat the "Set as <data> directory" as above and when you finish MO will ask you what to do with the files. Because FNIS share the same mod name as this creature pack, select Merge, so MO will preserve the base FNIS files, adding the creature pack on top. And then you must register the FNIS executable (GenerateFNISforUsers.exe) in MO and use it through MO. So follow that part of the instructions you linked: And as a general tip, if you think your issue is related to FNIS copy the text FNIS gives you after using it and paste it in your post. That information is really useful. Edit: reworded some stuff to adjust instructions for regular Skyrim. BTW, you have Racemenu and NetImmersive Override installed as a separate mod. Unnecessary, Racemenu already comes with NetImmersive Override. And you have both "XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended" and "XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended". One of them is not made for the game you're using, you should remove it.

Just about to mention that. @Botched Surgery 1. You appear to be running Skyrim LE so get rid of XP32 Max Skeleton Special Extended. 2. Make sure all your other mods are the correct version for Skyrim LE. As a rule of thumb, assume LE mods won't work with SE and vice versa. 3. I can't see any animation packs or SL Animation Loader which may or may not explain why you don't get any sex animations. 4. You have quite a few mods there that I wouldn't recommend for some one new to modding. The best practice is to get a stable vanilla game up and running and then add mods a few at a time, testing as you go.
Botched Surgery Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 @Grey Cloud @dontknowdontcaredontask I went and did the things both of you suggested. I reinstalled FNIS using MO and ran it through MO. I also tried installing SL Animation Loader to see if that will fix it but nothing changed. I also disabled the mods that you told me I do not need. I am wondering if I need to reinstall sexLab or my mods if I reinstalled FNIS? I was asked to add the FNIS text so here it is. You don't need to reinstall your other mods if they are already installed properly (which can be seen in the log you posted). SL Anim Loader (SLAL) is only required for adding more animations which come in packs ready to be used with SLAL, reading that log you don't seem to have any installed, so you'll be stuck with the default animations + the ones from ZAZ (I think you need to go into the ZAZ menu and register these). Your FNIS log seems fine to me, perhaps the version listed are odd (not sure if Dev Cursed Loot 6.3 is right, pretty sure this mod is in version 8.0 or even more, Sexlab Aroused doesn't show version but that could be normal... not sure, but you're not getting errors and it's detecting the important stuff correctly). So if you still can't start any animations it might be due to not completing the in game install of Sexlab* or because the mod you're using to call the animations isn't working properly. *: go to the Sexlab MCM, press INSTALL/UPDATE, exit the menu and give it a couple of minutes (you'll see some messages in the top-left corner notifying you when the process is completed).
Botched Surgery Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 I don't know if I'm missing something. I went onto ZAZ MCM and it says that all of the sexlab animation are registered. There is a YES beside every animation name. In the sexlab MCM I cannot find the INSTALL/UPDATE button but it says the sexlab is enabled. Although there is a ? beside "creature pack" and"FNIS for users behaviors generated" under the system requirements tab in third person and a ? beside "creature pack", FNIS for users behaviors generated", "sexlab framework idles", and "sexlab creature idles" when in first person. If it means anything I can see animations from the sexlab arousal mod. When my character is unbound the sex animations trigger and show. Also when my character gets bound during the animation the animation continues to show properly. But when I try to get a sex animation when my character bound before the dialogue my items get unequipped just before its meant to go off, then nothing happens. After when I talk to the same NPC I get the post animation dialogue options.

On the last page, Rebuild and Clean. First entry should say something like - Sexlab: enabled DISABLE IT. Yep, that's how it appears in LE. I don't use DCL so can't say on that one.

I can see the sex animations if I initialize them when my character is not bound in any gear or if the character was bound by themselves before the animation. The animations appear to break during the shopping quest and when my character is bound in an strait jacket. I someone with the same issue and someone linked this guide. I followed this guide but I installed the patch through MO. Unfortunately nothing changed. I do apologize for not testing different gear out before making my post. edit: added some text
Grey Cloud Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 No apology necessary. If you are happy that regular non-DD sex anims will play then my advice still holds - deactivate the DD mods and re-add one at a time. Once you have found the culprit, if you can't fix it yourself then ask in the support thread for that mod.

So that's fine, the requirements appearing as ? is something weird, but I've seen some ? in my setup sometimes and everything is working fine (usually this happens while I'm configuring everything at the start of a new game, after I play for a couple of hours everything installed shows properly). If you didn't install the FNIS creature pack then the creature checks won't be detected, these are optional and only needed if you want creature animations. That ZAZ fix is easy to install, if you're using MO you can safely replace the files from your ZAZ install with the ones from this fix, no need to add it as a new mod (but if you do place it after ZAZ in the left panel so it overwrites the files it's fixing). Could it be that your current animations don't support that device (straight jacket)? I know some devices are quite restrictive and block certain types of animations because it wouldn't make sense to perform these animations with such device. Can't say for sure because I'm used to have some SLAL packs on top of the default animations, and I also don't like to have too much DD stuff. You could find more info about this in the support thread for Devious Devices or Dev Cursed Loot. Because apart from that your FNIS log and what I've seen of your MO install seems fine.
Botched Surgery Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 Alright, Ill check out the support threads. Thank you both for you help and advice.
