Hmm... Why exactly does CotS not work with it? Has there been any attempt to make them compatible?

And more importantly, are there armors for male Children of the Sky? >.> I'm trying to equip some Vanilla armors and well.. they all give a bigger body type and create gaps on the feet and hands and a big ring gap around the neck... What armor am I supposed to use?

As promised, here's my modified xvisionchildren.esp in two flavours:

- non-killable children with added Aeta;

- killable children with added Aeta.

I didn't touch anything else aside from these two things. Both Hearthfire and Dragonborn are required. I'm not going to make the non-Hearthfire version, don't even ask, but I can help if you want to modify your non-Hearthfire xvisionchildren.esp and don't know how.

Keep in mind that since I don't have CotS installed, I didn't use its resources and left Aeta with vanilla hair. Since CotS modifies default hair assets, your mileage may vary. Fortunately changing hair is as easy as ABC (unless somebody else holds knowledge of perils I am unaware of):

1. Open xvisionchildren.esp in CK (if CK is giving you trouble refusing to load multiple masters, google the error message, it's a common issue and very easily rectified).

2. Go to Actors, find DLC2SVAeta, double click to open the actor.

3. Go to the Character Gen Parts tab, click Hair in the Base Head Parts panel.

4. Choose the hair you like, click OK and save the plugin.

If you modify any of the facial features in the Character Gen Morphs tab, after you are done you *must* click on DLC2SVAeta to select her in the Object Window, then press Ctrl+F4 to export the facegen data, otherwise you'll run into the grey face bug.

NOTES FOR THE KILLABLE KIDS VERSION:

This version removes the Child flag from all the child races, which means they can be killed like other NPCs. HOWEVER children won't be restricted to child-only idles when sandboxing, and the engine will rescale them to adult size whenever they start using idles meant for adults. They might not get scaled back when breaking from the idle. There are a few options to handle this issue:

1. Deal with it;

2. Scale the kids manually using the 'setscale' command in the console;

3. Try another skeleton. There's quite a few of them already. Some of them might require race rescaling in CK, some of them might not. For all you curious about which skeleton to replace, xvisionchildren uses this one for boys: actors\character\xvisionc\character assets\skeleton_x117.nif  and this one for girls: actors\character\Oriental\x117\skeleton_female_x117.nif.

Keep xvisionchildren.esp at the bottom of your load order to prevent other mods from setting the flag back.

The following actors have been flagged Protected (meaning: they can only be killed by the player character) to prevent their quests from bugging out in a case of their death - it also includes the Hearthfire adoptable kids:

Blaise
Babette
Lucia
Aventus Aretino
Sofie
Aeta
Fjotra
Helgi (duh)
Sond
Bottar

Credit for the resized mesh of Aeta's outfit goes to d4rk0n3.

Hmm... I uninstalled ECE and installed the older version (.85) and I'm not getting the popup error, but the females still all have cloudy white eyes. I don't understand what's causing that.

Would it be possible to simply remove the CotS chargen files? So that the CotS character in a save file would be secure, but I couldn't make another one and the chargen files wouldn't interfere with ECE? That really would be the best option for me, I just don't know which files I need to save and which ones I can get rid of.

Sorry, I'm afraid I can't help you any further with this. As I said before, I don't have neither CotS nor new ECE installed at this moment, and I don't want to trick you into doing something you might regret later. Just to let you know, if you replace the CotS meshes and tris with anything else, your character might not look right. All these troubles were the main reason for me to uninstall CotS, since I'm too lazy (and probably not knowledgeable enough) to fix the mod myself.

Hey. I found two mods which I want to try out, but I'm not sure how they will work with the CotS custom race.

Realistic Ragdolls and Force: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/601/?

Female Facial Animation: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35303//?

Is anyone using either of these mods in conjunction with CotS?

I use the first one and it doesn't seem to conflict. When I install CotS it asks to override some facial animation that ZaZ has, but I say no and it still functions fine.

All in all, I'd say those two should work just fine.

I'm just stumped with mine. :( I'll just have to uninstall CotS every time I wanna make a non CotS character, lol. At least it's only the chargen stuff that gets royally screwed up (thanks for trying to help, kyods).

I'd still really like to know if there are male CotS armors though. >.>

Realistic Ragdolls and Force is a good idea. I don't play Skyrim without this mod for very long time. But... You need to replace existing X117 skeleton with XPMS (it is work with this mod) and install Realistic Ragdolls and Force "realistic". Not medium power or others.  1. Install this mod. 2. Replace sceletons. I mean Install XPMS after RRF. For OraezeRaceX117 you need to edit YChildren of the Sky.esp  in part of scaling. Set 0.8 - high and 0- weight for this race. Personally I make this file ESM after editing.

Female Facial Animation  good mod too. Install this. But this mod don't work with Children of the Sky race because of head meshes.  As CME this mod using vanilla head bones and TRI file. So problem with eyes and morphing change in Character making extender will exist until Jiitek make head for this Race compatible with vanilla.

For people who has problems with CME and eyes :  no matter what version of the CME you using. CME works greate. Just OraezeRaceX117 using custom (incompatible) head meshes and only 3 or 4 eye color. Just scroll all eyes and you  found compatible. It is Blue, Green and  Brown.

I don't really know what you're saying. I can create CotS characters fine, but all other female human races have blank eyes.

Thanks Ortog. This is what I did:

1) Install CotS

2) Install RRF

3) Install XPMS

I let xpms overwrite the cots first person .nif like it wanted to at first but that disabled the first person height fix, so I uninstalled and reinstalled CotS and let it keep its .nif. I also tried the edit of the YChildren of the Sky.esp you mentioned but found that it made my child way too short. So I uninstalled CotS, deleted it, reinstalled it and let it overwrite the XPMS .nif. My game seems to be working ok. A couple of times it seemed like the first person height was shrinking, but that may have been my imagination. I'm not sure if XPMS is even needed because I let CotS overwrite it. The only thing I noticed is that my save file is now about 1 kb bigger. It's growing very quickly in this savegame, not sure why.

@ Seiji-Chan

I talk about correct installation of this mod. In my game this mode causing no trouble for ANY race  installed. If you have such issue, then   you using wrong load order. Try to use BOSS.

Try using an eye mod like Eyes of Beauty. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13722/?

Use the main file, the NPC replacer, and the dawnguard update. Overwrite any files it asks and you should be good to go. It is what I use and I run CotS as well (then again, I deleted the femalehead file in the meshes folder so CotS didn't overwrite any vanilla assets, but I also don't use the playable race version), and it works fine. No blank eyes.

Agree, but keep in mind - not only Children of the Sky installing head meshes and TRI files in / Character Assets folder.  Enhanced Character Edit and CME installation do the same. So you not really know what file you deleting.

Well, I dunno. CotS asks to overwrite loads of ECE files when I install it. I use BOSS too. You don't get the CME error?

Thanks! I installed the player version and girls have eyes now.

Alright, perhaps all will work now. I tried removing those vampire and companion pex files in the CotS files too and the error messages went away. Is that gonna ruin anything?

PlayerVampire and PlayerWerewolf i remove before install. Nothing wrong. CompanionsHousekeeping - present. Because all my housecarl are Sky Children.

So just play. Good luck.

Only problem I have with this great mod is swapping the clothes using console to remove a sky children clothes from a child and then adding another sky children clothes (ie removing Sky clothes 1 for sky children clothes 3 for example) results in the child being naked also the clothes don't display in my inventory as a item of clothes or armor just a character with a tag Sky Children Clothes.

The child clothes are flagged as unplayable in CotS, just like the regular vanilla child clothes. You won't see them in your inventory, and you won't be able to pickpocket them. If I remember correctly, the child shoes are still playable, if it's of any comfort to you.

They are in the inventory, under Misc, just like normal children's clothes.

Yes, that's what I meant, sorry for being vague. They simply won't appear under the clothing section of the inventory.

I see thanks for the info so to change the clothes sets around on certain npc children I'd have to change CoTS in CK I presume? either way im fine with how they are as with the default cots clothing now I know I cant really swap clothing items over.
