Nonplayed Sim to Played Sim oddities

Curious if anyone else experienced this, I altered a townie that was wandering around my neighborhood like I often do, never had any issues til now. My Sim ended up in a relationship and invited them into my household. The Sim randomly generates a future cub item in her inventory every few hours, I don't care to cheat and sell them for money, but I also think Sims bills can reflect their inventory (or used to in the past). The Sim also will randomly pull a Violin and Guitar out and play a few notes before putting them away. Thing is, she doesn't have either in her inventory, nor does she have violin skill. She also apparently really wants to be an actress as she will seem to want to practice acting every now and then.

Few other things I've noticed since last patch, I have an outdoor grill and Sims invited into my house will eventually try and use it to make De-stress elixirs from the Herbalism skill. Thing is, I know several of these Sims don't have that skill.

Same here for the musical instruments, plus mine seem to have access to an endless supply of these little clay blocks. Even currently active Sims sometimes make one appear out of thin air and play with it a little - one Sim that I hadn't played for a while had eight of them in the inventory and even got another one while I sold them. Haven't seen any other items pop up out of nowhere yet, but it's already annoying enough as is.

There's no apparent pattern to this (other than all issues having started after the latest patch), so I'm guessing it's a game bug.

EDIT: Did a quick Google search and apparently it is indeed a game bug related to the N.A.P.s from Eco Living. Something about enforcing appropriate behavior when visiting different neighborhoods. Luckily, Basemental has created a fix for this (I haven't tried it yet, but I will, once I have the time):

I just hope that this issue will be properly patched out of existence soon.

These bugs are driving me insane. Besides the constantly replicating Future Cubes, various other things are just driving me nuts. I am playing University for the first time using the same 2 Sims I mentioned before, A played Sim and a former NP Sim. I'd go to the Commons to get food and they would sit down to eat and then suddenly get the queue to go dancing which causes them to stop eating, stand up and since the plates despawn, I'd have to tell them to get more food. I have autonomy shut off on played sims, but several keep getting random queue pop ups, like the same Sim wants to practice programming now over and over, often times abandoning a current task to do it. Either that or dance.

I'll give that fix a shot because OMFG this is just stupid.

Here's some more detailed info on the issue and what N.A.P. does what (also linked on the MTS page for Basemental's fix), including more ways to potentially take care of this while we wait for a patch:

More good info, thanks. I was curious if there was a way to cheat away the Sharing is Caring NAP. On neighborhoods that don't have a residential location, I ended up temporarily moving out a business, making a dummy Sim, putting them onto the lot and then turning on testing cheats and shift clicking the mailbox to cheat away the bad NAPs. Nice to know there is a code to enter.

Hoping they eventually fix the problems because some of these are terrible bugs to have.

Shift+Click on mailbox to disable your neighborhood NAP's.

Has to be done in each town/neighborhood so you will have to use 'control any sim' mod or switch played household to fix other neighborhoods.

But first go into game settings/ECO and disable Autonomous NPC NAP voting box so sims don't just add them back in later.

Yeah, it's really annoying and fixing everything takes a lot of time - at least for someone like me, who just wants to play casually for an hour or so.

By the way, you can also place a NAP voting board on some non-residential lots like bars and clubs (and, with the usual cheats enabled, enter Build mode while you're visiting the place with one of your Sims). The game will not allow you to cheat anything about NAPs that way, if the lot is not part of your Sim's neighborhood (or maybe in any case), but at least you can find out which NAPs are active. For entirely non-res 'hoods there were none active in my game, unless any lot there was owned by a played household (which was not allowed to vote, however).

With nearly all NAPs being affected by the bug(s) somehow and the rest being a real pain ("our neighborhood wants to reduce water and electricity consumption, so we're glad you got all this green tech on your lot - but we're still gonna punish you for using your collected and stored water during the time the supply is being cut"), I think I'll go ahead and disable Eco Living's gameplay features for now.

I have yet to visit some places in my game in order to assess the damage done by these bad NAPs (especially when it comes to stealing stuff), and honestly I'm afraid to find the entire staff at the police department staring at future cubes while the bars of the prison cells have been stolen - probably by the inmates themselves.

Hopefully, I won't have to move my 150+ Sims to a new save. That would make for a fun weekend.

Thanks, but if you read further I literally said I did just that, also keyword, WAS :P

Oh God damn I didn't think about that. I know Eco green/industrial is disabled on vacation and Strangeville, but hopefully on the active job locations too. I think I might end up checking those out asap. If anything I'll revert to a previous save before Eco came out, sucks to lose progress but reverting damage is better.

Heck, Strangerville was something I didn't think about, Just checked it and apparently the whole "footprint" thing is disabled, but NAPs aren't. Means that every neighborhood with residential lots or venues owned by someone is affected by this and contributes to the problems in-game.

On the bright side, there are no residential lots in the vacation worlds, and apparently they are fine. Same for active job locations.
