regarding body replacers, can i get a simple explanation?

I'll make this as short as possible, I'm burnt out from reading so many mod pages that appear to contradict each other on how these systems work. It feels like everyone who makes these mods intentionally avoids explaining basic shit, as if literally everyone knows it as common knowledge, but all I see is a million acronyms I don't know and a bunch of context-less info that doesn't answer my questions.

I've been looking into body replacers for hours upon hours and every next page I read gets me more confused, I might be losing hair now.

I see mods on this site such as "Clams of Skyrim" which calls itself a body replacer mod with built in functioning genital physics etc. For armors it says to use CBBE versions, does this mean its actually CBBE but just modified with better physics?

I also see a mod called "All-in-one hdt animated pussy" which at first appears to be the same thing as the above but upon reading the page I become confused. The requirements say the usual stuff for body replacers but in the Bodyslide step it says to do certain things depending on the body replacer you use, mentioning UUNP, or CBBE if you use aforementioned "Clams of Skyrim" body. So wtf is this mod then?? The description has the author talking about meshs and nifskope and not having to use them anymore... I don't even know what those are or why I would need to use them. Is this a mandatory thing to know about for all physics enabled body replacers? And does this mean it just replaces the physics of Clams of Skyrim but keeps the same body? Am very confuse.

Then I see a mod called "CITRUS" which claims again to be a body replacer but specifically uses the language "body mesh replacer", is this different than just a "body replacer"? It is clear that is not UUNP or CBBE based but something new, and also says it uses HDT PE which is yet another new acronym I do not know. Upon research on google I found that PE and SMP are 2 different ways to do physics but I also saw some stuff about them being used together which some posts said you cant do and other posts said you could. For this one I am wondering if because it's a brand new body base, would older popular armor replacers be able to fit to it properly through Bodyslide, or would I get stuck only having the body work with special custom armors or nude only. Does this somehow relate to the AOI hdt animated pussy post talking about refitting meshs and using nifskope? If it takes all that extra effort to get the armors and clothes to fit I would just avoid it.

The last time I did this several years ago I used a UUNP body and custom vanilla armor replacer but Bodyslide fucked up all my outfits no matter what body I picked, I picked the body I had installed from UUNP but still got neck and hand seams and body clipping through armor, then when the armor was removed, the body would completely change into another shape. I spent weeks trying to get help with it but no one could help me and re-installation didn't work so I gave up altogether.

In conclusion, I just want someone to explain in plain language what all the acronyms mean and just how all this stuff works together. I want to use whatever is most stable and complete in the way of armor that can use Bodyslide fitting, with physics enabled.

I am looking for someone who actually knows all this shit inside and out to give me simple answers. I don't want a walk-through, just a "use this one, it will allow you do what you want, its stable, and doesn't take 900 hrs of reading to learn how to set up"

And before you start typing a response, if your response is anything close to "figure it out yourself" or "you should read more" or "you get what you put in" or any other jackass responses like that you will be ignored 100%.

Thanks in advance to all the kind horny souls for taking the time ❤️

Well for starters, it is because it is not simple.

It can be made simple but it would then be at least to some degree wrong.

The simple version:

Unless you know what is what, you should stick with either CBBE or UUNP these are the two most popular body styles and have the most support. Installing Bodyslide and outfit studio (in LE) will give you the option to install sliders for either or both of those body sets.

some of the things you asked about are just genital animation mods for either CBBE or UUNP. You should avoid worrying about that for now. Get a body, get a skin, get some outfits make the basics look nice in game for what you want. Then get fancy... By using these things you will start to learn more about what they are and what you are looking for.

Honestly I never got that either.

I started wtih CBBE, then tried UNP (never looked back) then I installed HDT(body physics) and then finally ended with UUNPB (or something like that) HDT.

If it says my keywords I use it and if not I skip it.

AIO-P: It could hardly be simpler.

It offers you to install either CBBE or UUNP inclusive all needed files for those bodytypes.

It has an installer that helps with the various steps to install a body.  Even if you make errors or want to try some experiments you can just restart the installing process after messing up or if the result isn't to your liking.

You can work yourself thru this blog from top to bottom:

You find all the requirements for AIO-P there too. All what is left to do is some try and error.

Remember to choose either UUNP or CBBE and stick to it for armor, outfits, mods.

If you learn more later you can just overwrite files from AIO-P you don't like (for example skin textures or alternative HDT settings).

While you install the AIO-P related mods you might even learn what they are needed for!

Hey man I really appreciate this! This is exactly the type of thing I was looking for! So happy someone took the time to put this together!

I went and followed all the steps and everything worked great! I had an issue with neck seams on the Bijin characters, but I suspect its because I foolishly used Shivas hair replacer as well, in the past it messed with alot of mods so I suspect its the culprit here.

I wasnt very happy with the general face textures in the first setup I just tried, Im curious if I can easily swap them. If I dont like the skin/face textures installed by the AOI mod can I literally just press "re-install mod" and select different options? Or do I need to uninstall the mod and clean my install first? I tried doing this by installing the Demoniac skin like in the walkthrough but it caused neck seams on the Bijin girls. Was this from Shivas hair replacer or me screwing up the skin install somehow?

On a similar note, how can I change NPC makeup? As I walked around and looked at various NPCs I didnt like the makeup they seemed to all be wearing, dark lips was one of the thing that stood out. Is there a way to disable makeup completely or control it per character or something? Ive never dealt with anything regarding makeup in skyrim before.

Just an aside for context, I play a male character so I am only interested in things that change female NPCs and not female player characters.

Thanks again!

❤️

UPDATE ON BIJIN:

Upon a full fresh install the Bijin heads still show a seam with only the mods in the walkthrough and the plugins from the AIO-P for Bijin support. Its a very subtle seam that only really stands out if your look directly at the neck. I can live with it, but if anyone knows a solution please let me know!

Thanks :D

If you use NMM you will have to uninstall and install the mod again. Reinstall won't restart the FOMOD and NMM will install AIO-P with the last chosen FOMOD settings. In addition you need to remember with what mods you overwrote AIO-P already and choose "no to overwrite" if you want to keep the changes added by other mods that overwrote AIO-P.

If you use MO it might be different if it comes to reinstalling mods. In this case I guess (hope) you only need to move AIO-P back in the right spot on the left plane to have the same effect as NMM's overwrite system.

That highly depends what files you overwrote, what other mods effect Bijin and where the Bijin replacers is located in your LO.

Bijin should be below all other NPC replacers in LO to win against other replacers.

If you have a Bijin version that comes with hair and skin you don't want to overwrite those textures and meshes.

It depends what mods you installed to give them makeup or warpaints.

There are also mods out there to rise the quality of warpaints and make ups.

I mainly use NPC replacers and don't change anything on racemenu overlays on NPC, but there are mods out there to allow that, I think Manipulator is one of those.

Alternative are makeups via slavetats.

List all mods that change Bijin on your setup and post a LO.

Maybe a screenshot would help too.

You can cause neck seems for example by having a body with a different skin as the face or in worst cases use a face for CBBE on a UUNP body.

Install sequence is also important, for example you installed AIO-P for Bijin but you didn't overwrote them with the skin texture you installed later.

It's actually relatively simple, but like most things with Bethesda games, it's just a lot of work porting stuff to your current setup, more so when you suffer from OCD as I do.

You can use Outfit Studio to attach your body to any outfit you've in the game and then use it to fix any clipping manually, but yeah... tons of work if you've lots of outfits.

I haven't even fully finished OCD aligning FM animations yet, and there are times that I launch Skyrim only to align animations; if I am to put even more hours of work into a game that I play at most 2 hours a week, I might aswell just stop playing. I just run vanilla outfits and Immersive Armors with a HDT CBBE body, and since I only play as a male, there isn't much difference.

Thanks :D

Some Bijin heads seem to have been made for a certain weight that isn't the one currently set within their NPC_ records. Here is a post I've made about it sometime ago; if you actually mean a neck gap and not a seam.

Thanks for all the replies guys I appreciate it!

Im satisfied with where I'm at, the seams are minor enough that I dont notice them 90% of the time so I dont want to spend hours to fix it.

Thanks again I probably wont return to this thread again unless I need to find the guide link again :P

Thanks again!
