Mr. Otaku Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 See i've been thinking about it for a while now, how does one make Botox for Skyrim work with a mod it doesn't cover/recognize? I saw recently that Botox released a bunch of patches for Immersive patrols, Immersive Wenches and Inconsequential NPC's, thought it'd be great if i could do patches like that for some other mods i have that i don't think Botox would be covering. I did searches to make sure this was explained somewhere but so far no good. Now, depending on how this works it may very well be a really stupid question, but since i'm also totally clueless about mod tinkering, i'm willing to risk looking like a retard if it clears things up for me. Can someone help me out here? I use MO2 by the way, thought i should clear that up.

The mod doesn't apply a sort of treatment to the faces of the NPC's but it replaces their facegeom meshes (along with hair and probably some other stuff) with a new one and tells the game to use this. For it to work on a mod that adds new NPC's you would need do the same. You could, in theory, use one of Botox's existing overhauls to apply. Looking at one of the esp's in TES5Edit and copying what it does to an NPC of your choice but I am afraid it would take some knowledge of tools like xEdit or CK.

So what exactly do i need to copy from Botox to the other mod? I'm willing to learn, seems like a handy thing to know.

You have to patch that mod with a Botox Chargen Files, Koiwe/Kasper has good info on it on Nexus page. Basically you have to have CK setup to run with multiple masters. Say you want to patch InConsequintial Npcs, load InCon and Chargen.esp from botox into ck, find npcs you want to patch and export head data, Cntr+F4, done. Make sure you have no textures for characters(fair skin, demonic, bijin skin) present when patching or you get RedForehead.

Koiwe/Kasper set mod up where when you export face data, game see's vanilla nord hair 11, koiwe/kasper went to root of nord hair 11 and changed what is occupied in its place. Nord hair 11 consist vanilla of Nord Hair 11 and Nord HL 11, Koiwe and company changed what is nord hair 11 and nord hl 11 so game thinks its vanilla but it has KS parts instead of vanilla. Similar for the head meshes as well. So when you load InConsequintial NPCS into ck with chargen esp present you putting nord hair 11 on npcs that wear it. It's just that nord hair 11 with botox equals ks hair instead of vanilla hair.

If you followed my instructions you're about as likely to break your game as successfully modify it. I would look for guides on how to create a real standalone follower, not something that just uses vanilla assets. Like https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KKIEDhXFRznHNPGdAmZWLLvdO8-5WOw5kbY1TX_UjWo/edit or https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23972/ If you understand how to make one from scratch then modifying the appearance of an existing NPC should make a lot more sense. Alternatively, you could find a mod that overhauls one NPC and examine the esp file in xEdit, it should show what is being changed. I can't offer more help as I have never done it myself. Closest I ever did to this was changing the strippers in the mod "Get Stripped, Again" to be Male Guards but the above is what I would look at if I wanted to try this.

There is no Chargen.esp in Botox right now, i remember it being there but the latest update doesn't have it. Do i have to get the old version for it to work? Would that mean i can't use the latest update of Botox? Also yes i do have both Fair Skin and all three Bijin mods, do i have to disable them in MO and then do the exporting or do i have to completely uninstall them? 19 minutes ago, Mez558 said: I don't know, I know only the basics of CK and xEdit. Alright thanks, those tutorials look pretty good.
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Load mods into ck, nothing needs to be active Make sure your texture replacer mod(fairskin, bijin, demonic) is not active or you will get redforehead I initially had my textures active and you can see Red Forehead in ck Sometimes you want to look in xedit before ck and find out how mod is naming their npcs, so you can find them in actors tab in ck Lets change High Elf from citizens named Taralin. Click on her and go to character gen parts and hit full at bottom of page. I had my textures present when I \ went in and I see red forehead. When your in Charactere gen parts section, you can change anything you want here that is in Face Tint layers box, this is makeup, warpaint, and dirt, and maybe beauty marks? You can also change face complextion, at the end of the day you can also change face parts, like hair and eyebrows but not on vanilla characters and not on modded characters in an exciting save game. InConsequintial NPC females you can change them from having nord hair 10 to 11, but you need a new game cause save game wants that char to have hair 11, new game doesnt care. If you change stuff here in that box, you have to exit that page by clicking "OK" at bottom of page, trust me this works, also when you change stuff here it is still important when exiting ck to NOT save file, never save in ck when working with botox, this example would create an unneeded reference to the particular npcs in the esp, dont do it. When exiting ck after patching if you made changes to the tintmask(make up,dirt, make up) ck will want you to save file, dont do it When you exit ck if you use MO and the mod you patched didn't have the unneeded tga file that gets generated with the dds file, then mo will have 1 in the overwrite folder and it can be tossed out.(TGA files are not needed) If mod your working on has the dds and nif files and tga file, then nothing gets generated to overwrite, they are overwriting at the source where you have mod installed(MO/Mods/Incon/Meshes/actor/facestuff/npc.nif If you don't use MO it's about the same I think, shit just gets overwriting were it is kept. And of course, to export the face data, in actor tab, highlight desired npc/npcs and hold Ctrl+F4

Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 My Botox files found here on LL is better, sorry if thats rude But i easily suggest you install My Botox Files over Nexus version. I removed dirt from most NPCs and I have HG hairs in addition to KS hairs and other stuffs that went into my files.
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 MO2 is good, I would unistall Nexus version and install my files, you should never have any botox files clicked active when in game.
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 In fact, I hide my chargens when Im not patching

Reveal hidden contents Wait, are you telling Botox will still have effect in game even if i disable all of it's esp's? Woah... lol
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 My files will work fine with what Kowie has in dl section on nexus for patched other mods. so no problem there. Those files are only needing to find hair textrues that are packaged with My Botox Files, very compatible with everything except Shiva Hair Replacer mod.

Both versions at base level only affect vanilla npcs, kowie and I have patched other mods and the mods I patched, needs My Files, the mods Nexus version has patched can be used with either versions.
