UPDATED NEWEST VERSION, IN GAME TELLS ME I NEED AN OLDER ONE?

I have a fully updated game (Origin) and I got an MCC script error, so updated that. Wicked Whims was working fine at the time. Opened the game again after updating MCC and still it wasn't working. Checked Wicked Whims for updates, updated to the latest version. I go to play? Bam, error notification that says I need v153c instead? That the newest version is unsupported for whatever reason. But I can't access the old version download, and thus can't even USE wicked whims right now, can someone please help? (I have tried to redownload it and yes I did delete old files first) Also MCC still doesn't work, continues to give me last exception errors. Are one of my mods broken or something? If so how can I even tell which one???

That notification is from a mod by ColonolNutty (most likely). If it says something like "expect XYZ to break", simply update mod XYZ and the notification should not appear again.

If you have multiple mods by CN (like Wicked Pets, Kinky Whims, CGS), update al of them and don't forget to also update Sims 4 Community Library.

So, I tried the suggested. I updated the mod then it said it was broken, and the MCC still says last exception. I'm not sure how to find the script error thing it tells me to send to the discord, though. Do you know how to locate the script error so I can do that? Ended up deleting kinky whims to see if MCC would work after that, but no luck.

@sly_dingo There's a file called "lastException.txt" in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4". It's an error log generated by the game and contains all information that was gathered about the LE. Just make another post in this thread and attach the file, so I or someone else can take a look at it.

@queenworld1 Update WickedWhims and all moids depending on it (like Wicked Pets, Nisa's Wicked Pervs etc). Keeping your mods up to date is the best way to prevent exceptions from happening - especially since game updates tend to break mods.

I did see Nisa mod was in all of those text files, so I deleted it. Gonna try to use the mods without it and see if that works, if not I'll be back to update

Okay Wicked Whims now works fine... MCC command center still doesn't.

It looks like your issue was pretty much with Nisa's mod, because I read about 4 of the LE files and they all only mentioned Wicked Perversions. When you updated your mods, did you remember to delete the localthumbcache file?

@RUASim21 I just did, do you think it should fix the MCC issue? I can't think of any reason it still doesn't work, but it didn't fix it. Still getting exception error when I try and use MCC. It claims a last exception file was added to where the others all were, but it isn't there, either.

Delete your Last Exceptions so you only have the most recent one generated. What version of MCCC are you using? Also forgot to ask, when you are updating your mods are you deleting the old one first; or are you replacing the files because if you are replacing it can cause errors too.

I did delete them but the new one still hasn't popped up, even though it says it has in game. I'm using the most recent updated one, and yes I do delete the old mods before reinstalling new updated version. I just can't understand what is wrong- it claims it is a script error. Like it lets me change their clothes but nothing else and I'm very confused by it

Sorry for not answering sooner, but my internet connection was down.

WickedPervs indeed does pop up a lot in those exceptions and was probably outdated, given the fact that no version number for the mod is given (which changed with version 2.3 IIRC).

Another thing I noticed is that you are using OneDrive, which might also cause issues. I vaguely remember another thread from some time ago, where a user had reported script errors as well and also had used OneDrive to create some kind of "cloud save" functionality for TS4. Unfortunately, I cannot find it right now, but I'm pretty sure (about 90 percent) that OneDrive was somehow causing this and that it could be fixed by keeping the TS4 folders local only.

Disabling/enabling OneDrive as your default file save location is detailed here:

You might have to additionally force TS4 to create a new folder (where you then put all your saves, mods etc.), as it might still access the old one within your OneDrive files. This post here is about TS3, but the steps should also work for TS4:

I had to change my S4 install location on another PC recently as it was messed up and not the same as my main PC, but not on One Drive though.

Origin/Game/Right click on Sims 4 and choose move installation.

(It's in the same menu with repair).

However I don't know if it will work with One Drive...

Doesn't this only change the install location and keep all saved games etc. where they are? I moved my C&C and Crysis games using this method a while ago, and as far as I could tell, the folders containing the saved games had not been affected in any way. I don't mean to doubt anyone, I'm really just curious about this.

Probably so... because I had to manually move those to the location I wanted after the move anyway.

The game seemed to find them OK afterwards though.

I think the idea is for any games working files to be in the "users" files area, or they should be anyway.

Don't think that cloud storage was meant for these kinds of applications.

All the EA game download files are moved to C:/Program Files(x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 4

But in my case all the other files and folders were also installed in this same location, saves and all.

(I didn't want everything piled into the same location)

So I moved all of those manually to the location mentioned below.

Luckily I had another PC to look at so I could copy all the right ones.

For the Sims anyway...

The only folders you should see in this (Origin Games) location are:

__Installer

Data

Delta

EP01

EP02

etc.

Game

GP01

GP02

etc.

SP01

Sp02

etc

Support

(Origin/Sims 4 Launcher changes the games location in the registry when doing the move with Origin)

Everything else gets moved to the location below.

The other one is created in "Your Username"/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4

Contains Saves, Tray, Mods, and a few other folders plus some misc files.

(I guess this could be considered the games work space)

Thanks for clarifying that, as I wasn't completely sure about it.

Regarding @sly_dingo's issue, this probably also means that you can simply take the "work space" folder and move it out of OneDrive's folder structure, into the local "Documents" directory. Spares you the trouble of going through a bunch of settings and double-checking everything - which can be quite a pain with anything Microsoft-related ?
