NPC's seem not prefer toys and furnature...

So I had this massive house party at my mansion. I turned the WW sex setting to extreme, and invited over 50 sims to my house.

So after the massive orgy started, I noticed that the NPC's really prefer sex in the bathrooms and bedroom.  I had this wonderful BDSM room with toys, sybians, racks, poles, etc, and none of the NPC's went for them - unless i had a household member ask them.

 

So wondering what happened.... is it just that I have 3000 animations, and only 40 of them use toys? Is it just blind luck whether they use them?

The location for autonomous sex is pretty much a random choice (depending only on things like number of actors and animations available) - but bathroom and bedroom are heavily preferred, due to the massive amount of animations for objects there.

You might be able to force them to use just that room if you put the WW 'no sex in room' signs in every other room in that house.

Or just certain rooms...

Just search for sex in BB mode to find them.

(Add a Massage Table to that special room if you have 'Spa Day' installed)

 

Sims still prefer sex with other sims though, and some prefer the private locations.

Experiment with different things.

You can also disable certain objects by using shift+click on them and select WW/ 'disable for sex'.

First of all, thank you for taking the time with the thoughtful reply. 

 

Finally found the no sex signs.  What is the range of the signs? How do the signs do "zoning"?

Depends on the sign but the one for rooms just covers whatever enclosed room you put it in.

 

The other I think is to disable the whole lot which I never use.

Exactly that. Room signs also override lot signs, so you can have "No sex on lot" but "Sex allowed in room" for the bedrooms or sth like that.

 

Note, that there are signs for both sex and nudity. Signs for sex only forbid/allow sex, but since sex includes nudity, "no nudity" signs also forbid sex. Nudity permission signs on the other hand only allow nudity, and sex permission signs do not override "no nudity" signs.

 

Another difference between the many signs is that there are visible and invisible versions of every one, so you can decide whether you actually want to see them in game (like "no entry" signs) or just use them to tag your lots and rooms as either available or not available for sex.

Again thanks for the reply.

 

Did some more experimenting.  I put "sex permitted" signs all around my living room but not one NPC decided to have sex there.  Their fav places are restrooms/showers/toilets, and beds.

 

I'm going to experiment more. I'm going to make just one BDSM room with tons of toys and furnature, and a toilet with "Sex banned here", and observe what happens.

Should have mentioned that by default, sex is permitted everywhere.

If you want sex to only be permitted in specific rooms, the easiest way is a "no sex on lot" sign anywhere on your lot and one "sex permitted in room" sign per room (in your case: the BDSM play room). That's how I turned all the clubs and restaurants in my game into proper, family friendly venues where any and all sex only happens in the restrooms and no nude Sims are casually walking across the dancefloor.
