coolfreaky Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 some questions : what windows you have ? old or new PC ? what Mod Manager you are using ? what Fnis are you using for L E or for S E ? you might need to repaire net framework from Microsoft directly . re-download Fnis S E ( a bad file in a download might happen ). it can be the Mod Manager that creates a problem ( to verify ).
sauronsbane Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 In order: Windows 10 home Newish pc Legion y7000p NMM the most current fnis 7_6 for se
coolfreaky Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 it must be FNIS and NMM . i think i have read about in FNIS warning . here : If you use NMM: If not done yet, "Configure FNIS" in NMM's list of supported tools (right most drop-down button in the menu bar). In the folder selection box go to your Skyrim Installation directory(for example D:/Games/Steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrim), and from there to Data/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users. Click OK. If you use NMM: "Launch FNIS" from NMM's list of supported tools (right most drop-down button in the menu bar) and here : https://www.loverslab.com/topic/86825-fnis-error-2001/ most likely NMM did not extracted all the FNIS.7zip correctly . You will have to do it manually : extract the file with a " 7zip " , than go to the Virtual Manager files mod and find the Fnis folder , delete the contenant and replace with the one just extracted . than try again to launch Fnis for users through NMM why not migrate to Vortex new version of NMM ( personally i use MO2 )
sauronsbane Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 In response to the NMM part yeah I did that exactly as a step by step guide said it failing is what prompted me to seek aid. Also yeah NMM didn't extract anything so I tried copying everything from it no dice. Going to try MO2 I have tried to use vortex no offence but I hate it.
sauronsbane Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 Think I did it right I ran it from the virtual folder and all green. Yeah think I'm going to like Mo2.
sauronsbane Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 Never mind can't seem to figure it out followed every guide to get it right nothing is working feel like I'm critical failing here. May need written step by step instructions. Getting a headache. Specifically I can't add FNIS to the executable tab doesn't give me the option for a blank template.
coolfreaky Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 take a deep breath , make yourself a coffee !!!?? and than return .? the Fnis .exe should be where you choose the Mod Directory ( profile, mods, downloads, overwrite , etc … ) for mo2 to be . click on the " wrench and screwdriver in the top left " it will show you the path where the base directory is . when this is set you add fnis.exe and run.
Aylis Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 In MO2 it should look similar to this: Spoiler Your path will look different but i hope the pic will help.
sauronsbane Posted June 7, 2020 Author Posted June 7, 2020 Ahh thanks for the screen cap here I have a few that may help you guys out in helping me get this trouble sorted. Had to take a break from attempting to fix it. This is what the screen looks like when I try to synch up fnis tool it's not here. As you can see in the second it's installed. Trying to get a file for it yields the next two screens. My question now is do I need to utterly manual the thing the whole way or did I miss a setting. The other half of my question is since for an unknown reason I seem to have to go in through my virtual folder to use fnis and am not sure it is really running properly is it? Caps 5, 6, and 7 respective to results.
Just Don't Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 That's not how you run FNIS through MO2. The first screenshot is the same window that Aylis pointed but you have not added the FNIS executable. Then you start the virtual folder explorer to run the executable manually? If you need a step by step check the post in my signature, step 7 is all about adding and using FNIS with MO2.
sauronsbane Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 Thank you so much that was the part that was screwing me up all the videos I watched glossed over that part in particular. I'd gone through the fifth time of attempting install till I face desked and took a break. Did a couple of test runs and it is working as intended finally thank you guys so much.
