It's not very hard to bundle all assets used to a follower if anything stripping them down is more problematic but then the permissions and what not I think it was those days when all this people pumping followers were starting to care about those who made assets for them to use and shit so much drama honestly.

There's actually a way to extract shape data from nif files with bodyslide '-' You can search it real quick it's a thread in reddit I had used it before long way back in my experience it works but my experience is only le bodyslide.

Not too sure why you would quote a post from nearly four years ago to be honest, as for permissions they do not matter at all, no matter what the mod author states, unless you are intending to distribute what you create, if you are doing it just for yourself, you can do anything you want to those assets.
