Skyrim SE won't launch, but shows up in task manager

Hi, I have played and modded skyrim for some time now. I had my 300+ mods installed and skyrim ran fine for a week, but today, it refuses to launch. Skyrim program shows up in task manager, using about 80 mb of memory, but doesn't seem to do anything. I tried disabling few of my latest mods, but it didn't help. Steam file validating gets stuck when I try using it. The only thing different from yesterday is that I installed new antivirus today (F secure). I tried disabling antivirus but it didn't help either.

Does anyone have tips for what I should try next? Thanks in advance.

are you running 300+ esp and esm files?

Do you play steam online or offline? Iff online, perhaps your AV update is interfering with communication to-from Steam...maybe?

Try deactivating the 'Ransomware Protection' of the AVS.

i believe that the antivirus was just a coincidence but as @flutie mentioned 300 + esp ?

you have hit the limit by all means . now you need to narrow it down first to 200 and see if it launch correctly than up to 250 .

and than see if you can put more ( i do not advise ).

the max limit is 255

The limit in SE is 255 but you can easy have more then that.

My self have 328 plugins and esm.

You need to refrase your question little.

 

I would like to ask OP how have you installed your mods, what tool have you used?

You say it freeze, and it clearly do that since the game only uses 80 meg of ram.

When you validate your Steamfiles it stops and dont work.

 

I think you may have issues whit your permissions. Where have you Skyrim installed?

Do your other games work as they should?

Have you defragged your drive, removed temp files and so on?

I disabled good portion of the mods, and it began working. It seems that it was this plugin limit issue, and I was not aware of it. It just seemed unlikely to me as it was working fine for a while.

 

Thanks for your advise, I was already wondering if I need to reinstall my game ?

 

Edit: While I was trying experiment how many mods I would have to delete, I found the real reason preventing skyrim from launcing. By uninstalling NET Script Framework, game started working with all of mods. Maybe antivirus had blocked some of it's code?
