Kyeckr Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Body mods sure as hell have come a long way in the past decade. I remember when I first discovered HGEC for Oblivion! Now body replacers are prolific come in many flavors, each have many user presets shared, different skeletons and physics options. The two primary flavors have for a long time and appear to still be UNP and CBBE. This being said, I haven't seen an open discussion comparing the two, at least not as it's own thread here. (I even used the search bar *gasp*) I'm curious which bodies people are using these days, and why they prefer the one they use to others. Or how they maybe wish their body was a little more like an alternative option, but there are other features that keep them from switching. For Skyrim I've always used CBBE since it dropped. Since returning to Skyrim I've been using CBBE 3BA. I was really impressed with the functionality of Wbody to utilize different physics presets depending on what the actor is or isn't wearing, and all the 3BBB skeletons are top notch! This being said, BHUNP offers a lot of the functionality of CBBE 3BA, has a few slider options in bodyslide I wish that CBBE had, I prefer how the "pregnant" slider works better, and some of the presets are really desirable. I'm considering making the switch to BHUNP, despite losing the functionality from Wbody. What about you? What are you using? Why? What are your pros and cons? Are there other bodies that should be discussed? 1
Highborn Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 It's a matter of preference in the end, so I guess the amount of outfits supported is the thing that might make you choose one or the other. For LE, I used BHUNP / UUNP for most part. In SE, I'm using CBBE 3BA, because of the number of outfits being supported, although BHUNP is starting to get more and more support.
supercaca Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I used CBBE 3BA in my two months ago skyrim setup, now im using BHUNP. BHUNP is more beautifull and feminine. The cons of BHUNP is that there are a few conversions, and some are ok but not top quality. CBBE 3BA has more conversion and with less clipping issues. But i prefer in the end BHUNP because is the best body for a sexualiced skyrim. 1

FauxFurry Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I use BHUNP partly because of how easy it is to convert the pre-existing UUNP outfits to BHUNP and it works just fine with CBP-C (including some of CBBE 3BBB's CBP-C config files). Then again, I rarely have trouble converting from CBBE to UNP body types. I've even goofed around and converted from UNP to SOS before so that isn't the best reason for me to go with that choice but it is something.

It doesn't seem too difficult, just unintuitive to start out.
invisible Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 I really enjoy BHUNP, the problem for me is that there's no tutorials on how to convert CBBE heels, gloves, sandals, boots to BHUNP. I can convert upper body armor and pants, panties just fine with the conversion reference that comes with BHUNP but I get stuck with the part when it comes to heels, gloves etc.. Other then that I'm content with BHUNP.
aulton1968 Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 any uunp clothes u can find are easy to use with the bhunp body. My favorite replacer to use with bhunp is bd uunp armor and clothes: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/89849
Kyeckr Posted May 21, 2020 Author Posted May 21, 2020 At this moment I'm hunting down how to do the uniboob reference thing with BHUNP.

FusRoDah2 Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 To me it all comes down to what's available. People can bring up stuff about vertices here and there being better on body A, or the jiggles being better on body B, but that's not really something you (or at least, me) would notice without somebody pointing it out to me. Though, based purely on gut feeling, I do feel like physics look better on 3BA. I recently made the switch from (BH)UNP to 3BA, actually. This decision was largely based on wanting to use 'CBBE Muscle Solution' , combined with the fact that most mods like Book of UNP that previously made me decide to stick with BHUNP, already have CBBE conversions.
Fujii6lemons Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 2022 - now we have bhunp v3.14 and CBBE 3BA v2.45. i have used both for years, i still have two profiles for each one and i go back and forth, heres what i found out : 1- In terms of compatibility CBBE just works with almost anything, armors and clothing and animations all work flawlessly, if u use sex mods the authors will often say it has worse collisions but in my experience CBBE literally has way better Sex collisions out of the box. 2- Ease of use, CBBE wins again, it's way easier to apply bodyslide presets, mod authors that create for CBBE always put everything in neat groups, and it works well with Obody's randomization algorithms. Also, when BHUNP was updated to V3 some armors don't work well anymore, the sliders have changed, some of them removed. 3- This is in my opinion the most important point, people will say you can make any type of body you like with both, that's BS, There Are features that will always look different between CBBE and UUNP, The good thing about BHUNP is that it offers many totally different body "Base" shapes to work with, whereas CBBE only has 4 (CBBE, Vaniilla, 7B, Old shape), there are certain body shapes (Realistic and fantasy) i just can't make with 3BA sliders... 4- Optimization. This is important to me but i don't think people care about this one, but CBBE wins here by Miles, the bodyslide files are sometimes less than half the size (sometimes 1/4 the size) of BHUNP files, and because of the poly count BHUNP will tank your FPS in crouded areas where there are lots of female npc's. Building meshes is also way faster with CBBE, so if you download huge armor compilations it's faster to install and takes less space And runs smoother 4
B3juc0 Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 I use both at the same time (very easy to do in Mod Organizer). The PC and lots of unique NPC use BBHUP or regular BHUP. The generic characters use 3BB CBBE. To me it's all about the sliders. BBHUP has the most, so you can make the bodies look the way you want. In my opinion there's something wrong with the way the ass looks on CBBE. No matter what I try... I can't make it move or collide from what I perceive is the correct way. If you want simulation accuracy in your SMP config xml file go to <numIterations>XX</numIterations> raise that number to 24 or 32 or even higher if you have a AMD 7950X or an Intel 13900K CPU. If you don't have a high end CPU don't bother because it will crush your FPS. But the accuracy of the collisions looks way better with a higher number.
hana120 Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Cbbe 3ba! Bhunp is a real pain to operate! Either you are lucky, it works. Or you can stick a finger up your ass deep in the air because it doesn't work. I have NEVER been able to get it to work. I've never seen a mod that's such a pain in the ass to make work.
Jyratx Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Is there a way to change the color of the 3BA twat to actually match your selected skin color that doesn't involve the optional download file? A green orc with bright pink lady bits is a bit unimmersive (yes, I know the mod has color selection options, and NONE of them correspond to Racemenu color sliders). Because if so, it wins for me. If not, then screw it. I've been trying for a LONG time to figure that out, and as nobody seems to have broached that particular topic that led to anything, I've never found a solution.
Londo101 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 In Skyrim LE, BHUNP works fine for me. But in Skyrim SE I failed to get in work. The sliders do not show up in game. I tried hard, but now I stick to Skytim LE. Damn...
I_Am_Notthin_ Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Obviously CBBE 3BA.It has more conversions and outfits are less size than BHUNP.People say that in sex animations bhunp is the best, that is false you can get realistic physics with 3BA with SMP....
belegost Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 (edited) 3BA because I had already CBBE set up on SE by the time I learned 3BA exists and I'm too lazy to change it now. Though long time ago, I used UNP on Oldrim (even before it became LE) because that was the only option that DX clothes supported. Edited February 21, 2023 by belegost
