Nymra Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Hey, 1. this is happening on test profiles where I add new mods and remove some for testing (while cleaning the saves from remnants). 2. this happens after some time usually 3. it starts with stuttering and then freezes completly. sound still works. The game does not CTD tho. When I load the save it usually works again. I could not measure a certain moment or time that passes. While I know that those profiles are doomed to fail sooner or later I just wonder why the game freezes instead of CTD. I have a new machine now, might that be connected? I ask because I want to rule out that some other problem might cause this which just happens to coincide with my testing profiles getting "overly abused" I had no crashdumps when this happens and I dont see anything in the papyrus log that helps me I mostly see SLAX and FWB active there, but no errors or something that repeats in the logs towards the end. @Lupine00 I dont suspect these mods are responsible but maybe u can see something in the log I can't (and would it be wise to disable FWB and SLAX log output?!) Papyrus.0.log
coolfreaky Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 papyrus log is not a crash log it will not relate the crash . It will only relates on events for mod debug and it can sometime give some far clues ! the stuttering and freezing without crashing is generally load order issue : you need to run loot if you already did ; it means you need to manually sorte somme of your mods !

( last week i had 50 mods and today it is about 70 )

There is a way, I just never got arround digging into it. Loot is pure poison for large loadouts. It basically destroys MNC, kills collisions, makes patches irrelevant etc. etc. I now make it like that: 1. Sort with LOOT 2. FIX the mess LOOT makes manually 3. Play If I add new mods, I COPY my profile in MO2. Run LOOT Apply changes to my original profile manually, so that I can keep all my fixed LO in place (I only sort new mods manually, as LOOT puts them). I never let LOOT change my main LO ever again... BTW: I now changed my LO on a running game (its a test profile anyways). THe stutter seems to be gone now lol and no crashes either. Load saves without problems. Just managed to make my forcefull bash not work anymore, lol again (LOOT Placed it before Ordinator so it no longer works, yeah LOOT we luv it)
coolfreaky Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 you are not running LOOT from Mod Manager ! you need to install the loot.exe as a shortcut . never launch it from the desktop launcher and never click with the " sort " the little square in M O . when launching out of M O it does not consider the Virtual manager and gives you a different L O . any way glade to here you resolve it and happy gaming

But it still messes up alot even when used correctly. Dunno who to blame, LOOT, the Mod Creators or both. But it certainly is not sufficient to just let LOOT sort and leave it that way All I wanted to say Yeah. Kinda just wanted to check if the "stutter and freeze" is a more common thing because I never experienced it before. Thx!
Fotogen Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 You can have Crash To Desktop. And thats it. You can have Crash To Desktop and there as popup message box(windows) behind Skyrim that says someting like "debug ... error ... virtual call ... FootIK ... stuff". It actually just CTD. You can have Crash To Desktop that looks like "freeze". Its still a CTD, just more rare. Maybe its second version. Popup box behind skyrim. The last time I had "freeze", it was hardware related. Video card was overheating. It could be just Skyrim, bad mod. It can also be bad hardware or driver.

I have a new rig but that does not mean it cannot have a problem. Since I tempered alot with mod adding and removing I still think its high chance of just beeing related to that. Before I mainly noticed that at some time when adding/removing too much it will not load anymore. Feels like one step ahead, loool Anyhow thx for the replies.

You can easily cause a deadlock by something acquiring a lock primitive, but never releasing it.

I wonder if I can increase the lifetime of my testing profiles by tracking the issue down, hmm. Papyrus Log? I hoped I could avoid the old "remove mod by mod" method. Also not sure if removing a mod would help if the save itself is damaged. With my knowlegde of ReSaver I could not see what might be wrong. I just used the usual cleaning method.
coolfreaky Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 if you experience a CTD you need to describe exactly when it happened : entering a cell , arriving to an area , putting on off cloth/armour , on save ,on load a save , on loading , on lunching , randomly , etc … if it is for the stuttering and load order did not resolve it , try tessedit to see conflicts and arrange or clean them . it can be a mod that is on the edge of consuming ressources specially in a heavy area like Helgen or whiterun . ( you can use "skyrim performance monitor " ) .
iggypop1 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 coolfreaky I have the same problem as Nymra On 5/8/2020 at 4:31 AM, coolfreaky said: if you experience a CTD you need to describe exactly when it happened : entering a cell , arriving to an area , putting on off cloth/armour , on save ,on load a save , on loading , on lunching , randomly , etc … My came crashes often when undressing/ redressing...the most crashing /freezing is about SL...scenes

I usually know why I have a CTD. This issue was about Stutter and a Freeze, no CTD and no Error message. I have never experienced a freeze with Sexlab. It only CTDs with C++ error msg sometimes, but it has been a while and usually its only happening to... profiles that I intentionally messed up When you have CTD the usual reasons for that can be: - use a Mod Organizer - Wrong Load order (Use LOOT to sort) - U are missing some common fixes (Crash Fixes, Animation Load Fix, Load Game CTD fix, SrtCrashfix Animation Limig Crash Fix_v1.1. <- these are mine) - bad Save (Use ReSaver to clean) these are the reasons for me at least when I CTD. also if you have script lag at the same time it can be a singular mod (barefoot realism was it for me or sexlab cumshot with particles instead of projectiles etc.)

It was the first thing I fixed when started mod consumption, lol you need to google your problems. I think this is it:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78557/
coolfreaky Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 8 hours ago, iggypop1 said: just adding to @Nymra the freezing part the PC needs updates : video card , VCredist (64 and 86 ) , DotNet it can be the HDT files ( several in game that conflicts ) not sure about this . re-install JContainer 3.3 from LL you can have " Crash Fixes " , and " Load Game CTD Fix " a good one , and SrtCrashFix all in skse no problem . for the undressing and redressing ctd part you need to see if it is all or a single cloth/armour or the body . ( the conflict may be just in the Virtual Manager part where some files may overwrite or multi files from same mod ) . i can not say anymore for load order as it depends on : if you use Mod Manager or not , what mod manager you are using version and more . loot tries to fix with important mods and leave the rest up to you to sort .
