stainclap Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I've tried doing everything I've seen posted on other sites so I'm hoping someone here might know. Origin was working fine one day and now I cant get it to launch at all. I've tried many different things including reinstall, clearing caches in appdata and program data, ccleaner, clean boot, among others. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

Its just the server can't handle all the traffic. Depending on where you live you might have an easier time loading up Origin in the morning/afternoon or late (after 4pm) afternoon/evening.

I only go online to update the game or to install DLCs..

Origin wont even launch at all. When I click the icon nothing happens and theres no origin processes in task manager. This has been happening for awhile, it's not like I only tried it once or twice.

In this case I would run a full malware check. It's not normal that a process starts and terminates. Unless the virus scanner kills the process because of unknown reasons. There may be entries in the event log if it is not related to malware. Outdated drivers may be an issue while I think that Origin has no special requirements.

Thanks for the help but theres no malware, origin has been added as exception so shouldnt be killed by anti virus, and all my drivers are up to date. I use many other programs and launchers and none have an issue like this or any issues. I even tried reinstalling and repairing all of the c++ redistributals. I'm worried I'm going to have to completely reset windows to get it to work which I reaaaallly dont want to do. Edit: I should mention that there seem to be tons of people with this same issue on the ea tech support site. However i have tried all of their fixes and contacted them myself. I've also tried different fixes suggested on YouTube and other websites. None of which helped the problem.

Check to see date of last WIN10 update and try to remove it, or roll back. If that's not it I don't have a clue, unless Origin got corrupted somehow but I still think it's an OS problem preventing Origin from launching. Origin was working fine for me yesterday but I'm running Win7. Found a neat mod that disables the auto WIN10 updates and puts you back in control. You can turn it off and update only when YOU want to. Installed it on a used Laptop I bought several months ago and it works great. https://greatis.com/stopupdates10/download.htm

I wouldnt be sure how far to rollback. I think my only option now is just reset windows.
