Game exit crash

[N.Gamma]

I'm playing a modded version of Fallout 4 and it works really well despite the amount of mods I use.

The only problem that always occurs is that every time I want to leave the game, the game freezes.

It doesn't matter if I want to go directly to the desktop or back to the main menu, this happens every time.

 

Can the problem be solved?

I have had this problem and still kinda do with Large mod list. I usally save in game then exit game as normale just in case it dose not close down as it can take up to 3 minute's for it to close down but if  not I still have the save I made in game so then I just end game in windows process manager. To the best of my knowledge this is because of the amount of script heavy mods being used. I notics it more if I'm using Sim Settletment 3in1.

You can try disable group of mods or just use alt+f4

I'm having this exit save problem as well though it only occures when I have sim settlements conqueror installed. I've looked on the net and the problem is the amout of scripts and the solution is as stated about Alt-F4 or typing qqq in the console which is less than ideal when you play on survival. Other than that there is no other fix. Is it possible to increase the script limit of 64mb? that could fix it though i have no idea?

No sorry there is no way for the 64mb limit to be incressed unless Bethesda Deems it needed.

1. Not really a solution but Rather then using the Save and exit option just save the game then exit. Then if it crashes on exit you still have the save. 

2. have you tried setting Sim settlements to low or cutting down on your script heavy mods.

Yeah I cut out any mod I could find scripts for and it didn't help, I cut out large mods and that didn't help either. I've tried it on low setting and that didn't help. For some reason conqueror doesn't like my setup. I mean it takes over an hour to finish loading the mod even though my pc is brand new and high spec.

I just had a quick look round and found it can happen if a mod is using an old version of of workshopScripts or an old save that has it. Other then Sorry. ?  for the best help I would go here:https://www.simsettlements.com/site/index.php

They look ok But I do not use half of them so can't be 100% sure. as I said above the link to sim settlements site above will be able give you a better answer. But as a side note I have suffered this type of issue with   sim Conqueror Hence I do not use it. Sorry for my crappy answer

Disable War of the Commonwealth (WOTC.esp).

 

It causes massive save file bloat, and causes what you're experiencing more times than not. My saves went from 58mb+ down to 16mb when I got rid of it.

 

edit: just want to add that I had to roll a new character once I discovered it was the source of my issues because it's scripts were too deeply embedded into the save to salvage it. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Thanks for the advice. I disabled WOTC and did a new char playthrow rebuilt the bash patch and merge patch. Same problem occured cant quit to desktop without it freezing forever.  if I save and quit to mainmenu that works but when i quit to desktop it freezes. So i gave up on conqueror and uninstalled it and the problem went way. I've always had issues with conqueror so if I could get it to work then great but if not well its one mod I don't really need.

No problem. Glad you were able to pinpoint the mod responsible. I never experienced the exit save issue, but did spend a fair few hours narrowing down my save bloat problem (my loading times went from over a minute to less than 10 seconds as well). Any mod that adds 50mb+ to saves, is simply not worth the risk of using.

 

WOTC is an awesome mod. I really miss having it in my load order. But as is typical with many mods, I found that using two (maybe three?) other mods was able to give me much the same effect, but without the bitching at my screen for the game to load ?

Yeah this is the first time i've used WOTC and its one of those mods i can't do without now. It makes Fallout more fallout like. Though i would like a fallout game where you can join the Enclave and it being a major part of the game.
