Guest Lady Luck Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 i'm planning to get Morrowind again on steam how come LL doesn't have Morrowind Modding section >
Ark of Truth Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I would say because it is too old and outdated compared to Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim.
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 dang it would be awosome if we still support that one
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 i mean we can just put an section like " older Tes game " there's so many mods on morrowind its unreal
sen4mi Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 If you are talking about rehosting other mods, that can get into some unbounded problems: There were a lot of "loving" mods for morrowind, and many of the sites that used to support them are falling into neglect. Hypothetically speaking, it's probably possible to find the mod files, but current copyright law was not designed for anything like morrowind modding - it was designed first for printing presses and had layers applied for performance arts and then later it was updated to cover expensive recording processes. The concept of "copying causes 'irreparable harm'" just does not make sense for a work of art which can only exist through constant copying. So it's legally scary, doing anything involving rehosting mods. Because some people have gotten upset about that aspect of mod existence. Personally, I try to avoid using someone's work if they express the idea that rehosting of mods is a bad idea. They may be great artists, but it's scary thinking about "what if I am interested in this for very long". But.. anyways... there is a way, I think, that gets past all the legally scary parts here - and that involves finding the mods, and tracking down author statements about how the mods can be used, and maybe tracking down authors to see if they are now willing for other people to rehost them (and they should be, it's not like there's any big advantage of any sort to restricting access to a morrowind mod) and maybe rewriting from scratch any mods that you can't get permission for (technically, rewriting from scratch is still a form of copying but it seems to please the people that get upset for no good reason and ultimately that's what all of this work would be about - avoiding people that get upset for no good reason). I am not sure if any of this is practical. And maybe that is not what you were after in the first place. If all you want is a place to talk about morrowind mods that you are writing, you can probably use the "other" category for that? (putting [Morrowind] in the subject line) and if your projects take off maybe LL can gain a new section?
gregathit Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I would agree with sen4mi, open a thread in the "other games" section and ask folks to post links to mods. You can then update the OP with those links and keep a running quick link type deal. If there is enough interest then "maybe" we can look at a section for it. In all honesty with the Morroblivion mod out there, I think anyone who did wish to play morrowind is going that route. The improved graphics and gameplay make it much more interesting than the original.
Cozy Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Yeah, there were some Adult Mods for Morrowind, actually I may have a few on an old hard drive or PC that's most likely in storage. Most were pretty rudimentary and crude, but I gotta say there was one that really pushed the engine that allowed you to have sex with NPC's, as opposed to being just a text based adult mod. I forgot the names for all of them, but they do exist.
gregathit Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 The 1st sex mod that all others were born from was Lovers and Legends by the infamous Mr Cellophane.
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 i love morrowind sex mods its funny XD not really crude just epic funny best one i seen ever you see animation that smooth its awosome!
Cozy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 The 1st sex mod that all others were born from was Lovers and Legends by the infamous Mr Cellophane. That's it! That was totally amazing when I first saw it.

That was totally amazing when I first saw it. Yea, Mr Cellophane was a freaking genius. If it had not been for his ground breaking work we might now have any of the sex mods you see in bethesda products.
polluxval Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 its like asking for a sex plug-in for mario brothers 1 on the nes.
Jerbsinator Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I don't understand why so many people are still obsessed with Morrowind, I have the game, it's good, it's fun but it is NOT THAT GOOD! It has a horrible combat system, just like every bethesda game, and the graphics are absolutely god awful, even with texture packs.
s.eden Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Get a look onto the matter before speaking, it would be wise (at last). As to activity, the MW community is not even close from death.Just take a look over the three provinces of Tarmiel Rebuilt.then, seek for Provinces : Tamriel mods (adding after the coast introduced by TR)Other, Keening as a new release. Then, the "dont say" : openmw.Update graphics and functions support maintaining compatibility with original MW mods ?*whistle*Oh, and they is this tool, "smartmerger", who in the (near) future could be able to handle quite (nearly all) incompatibility between mods (sound to be an issue related to dialogues atm, not sure as the main develloper is not around the official). As to adult, hm.Will depend I guess.RomanceMod+Lovers and Legend as base I guess ?Then, Hexenfels Castle, Agony and Rapture, Tag High Prostitution, Alimilia Daudgthers (4.12 latest) and so on.No "animation center" mod as far I may know, but that is not so required as of now (animation is still a blanck subject as to updated information atm (on my side that is). What more, I guess you could see with others (not sure who actually, but the largest collection is avalaible over http://www.wolflore.net/viewforum.php?f=15.)
polluxval Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 i have to agree with Jerb in this manner, unluckily its offtopic, so ill not go deep on it. but the main reason behind nothing similar to LL for morrowind its because something as simple as GRAPHICS. the characters in oblivion look amazing with the correct config and mods, i dare to say, characters could look awezomer than skyrim (again, with the correct mods, i reitarate before someone yells). also, the animations were easier to work on.
Nepro Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Yep we need three subforums for the Morrowind. -Morrowind Discussion -Morrowind Mods -Morrowind Technial Section
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 exactly what i think more like this Sub forum - Elder Scrolls Older Games Dos Modding " Daggerfall, Battlespire, Arena" Morrowind - Discussion - Mod Files - Technical
Symon Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Properly tricked out, Morrowind looks amazing, better than Oblivion out of the box, if any of you can remember how bad that is.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 i mean we can just put an section like " older Tes game " there's so many mods on morrowind its unreal That'd be neat actually, prehaps add in daggerfall, Fallout, and Fallout 2 to the list for that section, since they're all older games for series that bethesda owns.

To compare Morrowind with oblivion and skyrim is like to compare movies made by Tarkovsky to those made by Steven Segal.

While admittedly bethesda dumbed Morrowind down from daggerfall (albiet making the combat system a LOT better) the way the series has been so degraded since is horrible.
leddis3 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I don't know about the combat being better than Daggerfall. Now sure, Daggerfall is ancient but I quite like moving the mouse to swing my weapon. I'm sure that could be refined into something better, but instead they gave up on it entirely.
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 u know older dos game is so tardly easy to mod around because source code is so small you can just unpack the entire structure and rebuilt it lol.
Guest Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 It wouldn't do any harm (I think) to make a new sub forum for older TES games, the thing is, it'd be pretty barren. I could be wrong. Perhaps someone wants to expand upon Lovers and Legends but needs a place to post their work. Or maybe some people want to make other unrelated mods.
Guest Lady Luck Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 yeah see i dont think if the game is to old who cares if the file structure is easy to ripp the entire content just imagine if we all work on a reboot that will have that arena hype again.
