Customize a NPC or my character with Looksmenu, Bodyslide

Recommended Posts

Hello, I read a lot about Looksmenu and Bodyslide issue but in the end I didn't understand if it's possible to do the thing I want or not :

I would like to customize the bodysize of some NPC using the Looksmenu, using presets or to change only my character bodysize.

I'm using CBBE and CBP Physics for F4.

If I try to change the bodyside of an NPC with looksmenu, using presets or not, it doesn't work, the body size revert back to its default state, and body tattooes disappears when I exit Looksmenu.

The only changes I can do are the skin texture, and the head, be it to an npc, my character, or a fresh new character.

The only changes I'm able to make, and preset I'm able to see, are thanks to the JSON files located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets.

The files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Tools\BodySlide\SliderPresets aren't taken into account.

I know that there are already a lot of threads through the internet about Bodyslide which I read, but I'm really confused because everything seems in order in my files.

I'm pretty sure my load order isn't the issue.

If its possible to do what I want, I'm asking for some keywords or clues about what may be the issue.

Here is my load order just in case

try this video and under body in looksmenu there are sliders for body.  there is also, the unique player and companions mod.  which uses body slide for the body.

Most of the spawned characters can be changed in looksmenu, problem is all copies in-game of the base template will be modified to it. Few ones which I am finding hard to modify are Bedlam - Raider Boss at Dunwich Borers, Forged Grenadier (Female), Forged Flamer (Female) and Cinder - Raider Boss at Reverie Beach Station. Tried modifying the NPC record by making a mod, the change got reflected, but still looksmenu fails to retain the changes.

Here's how to increase the height for your Fallout 4 character/NPC's.  You'll need to be playing on PC for these Console Commands:

Your character only: player.setscale <1-10>
Any NPC (including you, if you target yourself): "setscale <1-10>" while targetting the NPC.

You can also find out what the Scale (height) of any NPC is, including yourself.  Just target yourself or the NPC & use the Console Command: getscale <target>

I'ts' worth noting that there are side effect's to doing this like when you reload the game it will reset back to normal scale, plus it may be reset back to normal in game play if you use any mods like animation's.

I do remember there being a mod that allowed you to play as a kid but I have forgotten the name of it.  sorry I'm not much help.

Some NPC's cannot be modified. If they start with "FF" it's doubtful they can be changed.

:exclamation:

As I understand it, this is the correct answer. You will need to do it using the CK. Unfortunately I do not know exactly how. I would try to contact someone who has done a Piper/Cait/Curie face replacer to see if they could write up a tutorial for you. One thing I've found with those replacers is that once you install it, you can change that NPC's face to whatever you like.
