asafreememberyoucant Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Here's something I've never exerienced in Fallout 4 on my PC before. The game always had 200+ mods installed, from smaller ones (weapons, idle animations, clothes etc) to huge expansions. But it ran perfectly with steady 60-50 fps. The only noticeable drops, to 20 fps at most, I've experienced were in a middle of Boston, which is not uncommon. But recently the game started to have these waves of fps drops. Right after the loading it gives me perfect 60 fps, but every two-three minutes they drop to 15-10 fps, no matter the area I'm in. It might be in a middle of crowded Diamond City or inside of a small house with only me in it. Then after couple of minutes it raises back to normal, but then drops and raises again and so on. You might agree it kinda ruins the whole experience, so I’d very much appreciate any advice. Here’s my specs: Intel Core i7 7700HQ 2800 MHz/15.6"/1920x1080/8Gb/1128Gb HDD+SSD/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060/Windows 10 Home. And my modlist: LoadOrder_Fallout4_2020-01-20T21-14-55.txt

Scrap Everything - Ultimate Edition.esp UltraExteriorLighting.esp=1 UltraInteriorLighting.esp=1 No More Mist.esp=1 also remove all of these except one Live Dismemberment - Mental.esp=1 Live Dismemberment - Mind-Blowing.esp=1 Live Dismemberment - POSTAL.esp=1 Live Dismemberment - Brutal.esp=1 Live Dismemberment - Insane-o.esp=1 Live Dismemberment - Liebermode.esp=1 Live Dismemberment - Regular.esp=1 nevertheless the advice from the person above is still completely valid so do that as well

Therefore, adding alot of 2K & 4K bitmaps is going to affect your game play. There are mods out there that will reduce the size of the bitmaps for you.
asafreememberyoucant Posted January 21, 2020 Author Posted January 21, 2020 Oh, thanks for the advise. I'll look for them. Also, disabling enb partially solved the issue (tho it's still here).

Also, disabling enb partially solved the issue (tho it's still here). Yea, ENB's are the worst for that. You pretty much have to have the latest greatest hardware to run them. I have a pair of 950's & an ENB slows me down to a crawl.
D_ManXX2 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 check your shadow distance this will also kill your fps
asafreememberyoucant Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 Well, seems like I solved the fps issue, at least partially. Boston and Lexington still give me shit, but that's nothing new. Overall I came back to normal 50-60 fps. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I can't tell what caused it particularly, but I followed your advices and: On 1/20/2020 at 11:53 PM, Invictaxe said: UltraExteriorLighting.esp=1 UltraInteriorLighting.esp=1 got rid of these... The game looks slightly worse now lol but at least I can play it. Feel like I became overconfident with my PC and overloaded the game with mods. Still can't shoot near the Corvega without an instant CTD tho. Feel like the best solution would be reinstalling the game and installng all the mods from scratch, but I don't feel like I'm ready to put myself throught it for now lol. Need lots of mental preparation. Thanks again guys.

bajs11 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 also remember laptop cpus and gpus are usually slower in some cases much slower than the desktop versions depending on the cooling solution the manufacturers use. Even a desktop gtx 1060 would struggle in heavily modded Fallout 4 and Skyrim. You need at least a gtx 1080 or rtx 2060 Super
