TheBeggar
Hey!  I'm rather new to modding and I face some difficulties with Skyrim basic version (not SE or LE) when following the tutorial posted here at this forum. I've downloaded SKSE 1.7 (and copied into the game folder), installed Nexus Mod Manager (0.71) and downloaded mods "SkyUI", "A quality world map" and "Skyrim HD - 2k textures", so I can see if that works. I see the mods as active in NMM. The thing is, when I try to run the game using normal Skyrim Luncher, it crashes. When I try SKSE luncher, it writes "Please update to the lastes version of Skyrim". I'm kinda lost here and would greatly appreciate any help or guidance.  Thanks in advance and happy C and NY! Link to comment
woodsman30
well you need either LE for old version on Se for new version SKSE won't run with out it. Link to comment
Anuketh
Hello! The (most probable) issue is that you downloaded a SkyUI/SKSE version that is different from your game. I recommend you to uninstall all the mods, run Skyrim normally and then check your game version (pressing ESC inside the game). Here's a tutorial. Once you do it, make sure you install the correct version of the mods and that they match your Skyrim version.  NOTE: - LE latest version is 1.7.3 - SE latest version is 1.5.97 Link to comment

He must have edited the post to make things clear. I don't recall reading literally the "Skyrim basic version" when I published my post. Thanks for the correction ? Link to comment
Just Don't
Even then, "basic version" would be Skyrim 32-bits without all the DLCs files, the skyrim.exe should still be version 1.9.32... which is compatible with SKSE 1.7.3 (latest release for Skyrim 32-bits). So either OP is using the wrong SKSE release, or has a pirated and outdated copy of the game. Link to comment
TheBeggar
Yes, I this one is a pirated copy. I have original copy of Skyrim LE for Xbox One but since I just wanted to try the mods and loverslab, I didn't wanted to buy a new copy for PC. Does that mean, I can't run SKSE and LoversLab on the pirated copy? Link to comment
