TextureSlide - CBBE Beta UNP Alpha

12/24/2019 Uploading UNP Alpha / CBBE Beta -- Thank you for checking out my first Mod.  I can use your help and feedback on how well it works in your hands.

PLEASE do not upload to other sites!  Please play nice and do not pirate.

The purpose of this mod is to accentuate the visual changes in shape provided by BodySlide with a complimentary change in shading.  Thus "TextureSlide"  Hmm... Maybe ShadeSlide is a better term.  We can think about and discuss it.  By modifying Shape ( Bodyslide Mesh ) and Shade ( ShadeSlide Texture ) a more powerful and better looking illusion is achieved.    This is a Texture Slider.  It uses different "Normal Maps" to adjust the shadow strength of the breasts depending upon the weight of the Female Character.

CBBE

I wish to thank Ousnius of the Nexus for allowing me to use the normal maps of CBBE.

I also wish to thank the work of Guk and other authors for inspiration and documentation on how to create this magic.  Where they used the normal map to modulate the musculature and veins of the actor, I just play with the shadows.

I used the Petite, Normal, Curvy and SevenBase normal maps provided in the CBBE - Normal Map Options - v1.4  FOMOD and blended them together.  I also overlaid the nipple enhancement of the "Fetish" normal map on each of the other maps.

This mod provides four key pieces

1) Two BodySlide Presets.  One Nude and one clothed.  The Zero Weight is close to the CBBE Petite, but I did shrink the breasts a bit more.  The 100 Weight is a little bigger than the CBBE SevenBase 100.   I chose these to start with because people will be familiar with them from the original BodySlide.  I did this to emphasize the dynamic range of the preset.

2) Pre-constructed Meshes of the above Nude preset ( Note: you will have to regenerate your own outfits if you want to achieve this variety of clothed women running around Skyrim )

3) The normal maps ( based on 2K resolution to start for simplicity )

4) The ESP ( small, should be able to ESL it, but I have not looked into doing it )

It does not contain the other textures.  It uses the file names and folder structure of CBBE.  It should be compatible with other texture sets as long as they do not rely heavily on a modified Normal Map.  If people do like this magic, I should be able to tweak the system given time and proper permissions to include other body types looks.  For example, Sexy-Sporty abs constant and the range of breast sizes shown here.  The same magic should also work in UNP,  but not this set.  I have not asked for permission or built the set for UNP.

It will not affect Custom NPCs that use their own custom textures and folder structures.  If there is interest, these can be patched with permission of the original author.  As a proof in principle, I built the magic into my version of "Mango".  Her mangoes can grow from cherries to watermelons.  I have not uploaded it, but could do so if there is interest in showing how it can be done to specific NPC..

UNP:

I thank HHaleyy of the Nexus for use of his UPN Fair Skin. I have never used UNP.  I wanted to get this uploaded so people can at least try it before the holidays.  I put together 9 normal maps for UNP.  The Slider technology works, but I have not tweaked the effect.  The shading of UNP is more subtle than with CBBE.  This might be why people like the texture set.  Not judging, just making observation.  People with more experience with UNP can help me with constructive comments.  The more we work together the better the results will be.  Unlike the CBBE version, this version only contains the Normal Maps and the ShadeSlide technology ESP.  I figure you all know what body mesh you like and if you want to increase the dynamic range of the breast slider, you can do it your self.  PLEASE NOTE:  if you have a narrow preset of huge boobs, this will look funny.  The ShadeSlider is designed to cover an A cup to DD.

Thanks

Again, I would like to thank the original authors and curators of

Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE- by Ousnius and Caliente

Fair Skin Complexion by HHaleyy

BodySlide and Outfit Studio by Ousnius and Caliente

Guk and others who got the ball rolling in SkyrimLE

Skyrim LE and Se

PaintDotNet

You for creative criticism and sage advice

Permissions

The normal maps that I have used are modified versions from other authors.  I do not have permission to given them to you.  I would be happy to work with other artists and authors with their own normal maps ( or work together with them to secure permission to edit the maps of others )

Eventually, I will learn this HTML stuff and make a pretty landing page as opposed to this wall of text.

Tecnicaly its a very interesting thing. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your interest.  I have not downloaded your mod, but I think fair skin had three normal maps.  I think they were Flat, Petite and Normal compared to CBBE.  I was probably going to seek that authors permission next.  I was going to release a "fairskin" module like I did for CBBE, but then create a custom that would go from Flat to SevenBase.

As you already have permission, I could combine the three maps for you so could have the same function in your mod.  However, I would like to get explicit permission prior to uploading, because it is something a l little different.  If you wanted to get more creative, different races could have different normal maps if you wanted to make, say, Orcs more muscular, elves lean and Nords more voluptuous etc.  I think there is a lot that can be done with the variety of normal maps out there.  But, I am biased.

I'm using CoR and really looking forward for this.

Tried to swap some of the normal maps with 4 normal maps that come with Bijin Skin.

The 1st row is without your mod.

The 2nd row is with your mod.

The 3rd row is me swapping the normal maps.

I used Fair Skin Complexion in the screenshots.

If it apply to all vanilla NPC, this mod can definitely diversify the body types without creating additional body types.

I love this mod idea and look forward to the CoR supported features! :D

Thank you so much for the feedback!  This is the type of information I need to tweak it.

My mod has two components.  The BodySlide and the TextureSlide.  It should work on all vanilla NPCs and all NPCs that do not use a custom race to change texture file structure.

BodySlide Portion  -- Shape

In the screenshots, I think you have a slightly different Mesh.  Which is fine!  This is all about personal taste.  If you use ModOrganizer, you may have the female body meshes from a different mod lower than mine, or one you built in "Overwrite".

TextureSlide Portion  -- Shade

Not sure why the pale skin was lost.  Did you turn something off?

My mod only carries the Normal map.  I figured other skin types would use the same naming and path structure as CBBE.  If they do not, it does not mean it wont work, it just means more optimization on my part to increase compatibility.  The way I thought it would work would be that it supply the shadows underneath whichever skin texture was used.  But, it will ignore whatever normal maps other mods supply because I renamed them to help me keep them straight.

If you turned Fair Skin off when you turned my on, try them both on and let me know what happens.  I am a newb and still learning and I have not had the time to test everything.

Thanks again for your interest and enthusiasm!  We as a community can get this too work and bring a greater variety of Shapes ( BodySlide ) and Shades ( TextureSlide )  to Skyrim

For the body mesh, In the screen shots I used my own bodyslide preset. ?

Thanks to ModOrganizer, I can quickly preview different normal maps and choose what I wanted.

The skin color difference is because I've chosen different races for my reference. I'm sorry that confuses you.?

Wow!

Yea, the technology is very powerful.  My beta was just an introduction and targets vanilla NPCs.   Start placing different TextureSlides on different races and it exponentially increases diversity.  Emphasize muscle shading for orcs or Forsworn for example.   No reason to make every woman a buxom babe or fitness model.  By combining Bodyslide and TextureSide it is easy to have both.

I am not smart enough to manipulate shade maps based on individual node from RaceMenu in game, but I think we are showing that more can be done than the community is actually using.

The first time I saw this mod, I immediately thought of diversifying female NPC physique. And my bandit screenshot has proven this idea work!

Another idea is to couple with mod like Pumping Iron that create female PC progression. But I'm not that interested in this idea to create another BodySlide preset.?

Like this mod a lot and feel free to use my screen shots in your mod page. I believes this mod deserve more attention.❤️

Yea, the earlier LE mods were muscle and vascular heavy.  The first I made eased off of a bit.  I have what I released built for myself with "SG" abs.  Some tone, but not washboard.  I have another that goes from washboard to voluptuous.   I have to secure some more permissions and figure out the best way to popularize them.  BodySlide and ShadeSlide are like ice cream, there are classic flavors, but nearly everyone has a specialist flavor they like a little better.  ;) .

What about BodyShade?

Nice mod, but the description is unclear. From what I see inside the .esp file it works similarly to old muscle texture changer but for normal maps? We don't actually need included preset for anything other than testing. It will work with any preset and will swap TextureSets based on weight, correct me if I'm wrong?

"BodyShade", another good one!  You are right, it does what the MuscleSliders do, but just the Normal Maps to accentuate the breasts.  I included the CBBE Mesh and sliders to make it simpler for less experienced users and to show the dynamic range.  Most people uploading CBBE presets use a very narrow range...  Luckily, the UPN Mesh I loaded in game did have nice range, because I do not have UPN built into my BodySlide.  I am also trying to build a new SSE on a new PC, so stuff is sort of all over the place.

My goal is to share and get some feedback before uploading on the Nexus.  My feeling was user of LL have more experience on average than users of the Nexus and more accepting of a work in progress.

Future Plans,

Add Abdominal variation into the progression

Modify the normal maps to show better shading progression on other regions.

Longer term, actually build BodySlide and BodyShade options into each Race, Orcs are muscular, Nords are more voluptuous to fight of the winter chill.  Maybe Redguard are less Arabic and more sub Saharan African and pear-shaped to accentuate the booty.  Not sure, I havent really studied the lore and the game was never designed to display such differences.

I made a special Bodyslide preset to test this. It goes from completely flat, to BBW.

Thank you very much for your interest, help and promotion!  Do you feel the technology works in your hands without much fuss?

Your preset is closer to what I use for myself.  But, in the beta, I wanted to emulate the classic CBBE - SE presets.  Second, I wanted to simplify the install and the concept to bring it to the masses.  Going from, Vanilla to BodySlide is a big leap. Going from BodySlide to  Basvanbeus or ( Guk & elmanouche ) is another.  I feel my version is pretty close to an out of the box install with the novice user not even required to use BodySlide, but may inspire them to learn more.

I do not know what the ratio of People to Bots is, nor the number of repeat users, but in one week the number of DL was over 550 and posts here are positive and you, urielmanx7, even find it worthy of linking to your own work.

Thank you very much for bringing Basvanbeus to my attention.  Now, I remember I did look at that years and years ago, but didn't have the understanding of file structure pathing to really use it.  I will be sure to credit his work in the inspiration.

Hello, I've made a patch for this to work with Total Unique Player 2.0 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28840?tab=description

If you don't want to upload it to the mod page, do you mind if I potentially add it to a compendium of the total unique player 2.0 mods I'm working on? I don't have any permissions yet, just hypothetically.

Also, even if you don't have permission to release normals for UUNP, you can always release uncompressed texblend files and let people make their own! That's what I plan to do (make texblend files, idk about releasing them). Thanks for the mod, it's very useful.
