Not really outside of adding one or two morphs that were missing from the chargen data. Still haven't found a way to get all the Skyrim sliders to be available for the player even though they are for NPCs.

 

Also updates will happen when they happen, I'm currently doing some minor stuff for Skyrim just enjoying my free time in general so don't expect it to happen in the immediate future.

The tail takes up one of the "back" slots that are unused in the vanilla game but plenty of mod-added gear use it instead, so if you are using non-vanilla items you may be simply equipping something in the same slot.

 

If you mean it spazzing out and getting bugged, that's a 100% vanilla bug with the physics, as the tail just reuses the vanilla long coat physics and bones.

I'm not sure what you mean here.

 

As far as I can tell, all the mod does is edit the vanilla NPC races (human, ghoul, child, etc) so they point to a separate skeleton, thus allowing the player to use a custom skeleton (like the one required by CaN races and the like) without screwing up NPCs. So far so good. Want to play as a pony without messing up NPCs? You need that. Understandable.

 

The thing is, so far this mod is only meant to be used to play as a Selachii, thus not needing to change the player's skeleton at all (since Selachii use the same (vanilla) skeleton as humans do), so what would be the point of using that mod alongside this one then?

Never had that issue before nor I have any idea what could cause it. Load order looks fine as far as I can tell.

try disabling everymod and try just using shark race and even try a manual install

Still broken, I'll try nuking the MO profile next and if that doesn't work I'll nuke MO itself (might fix Skyrim at the same time if its the problem). Its now well past midnight I've spent that long trying to diagnose the problem.

You seem to be the second person to report this bug (first one being Rockat), but I've never experienced it myself so I don't understand what's happening. Seems like the game is unable to find the race's assets, but I don't know why.

 

The Vulpine race seems to have a similar issue for some people and it seemingly gets fixed by downloading and installing the alternate version of the mod (i.e. if you got the Archived version you try installing the Loose Files one and vice versa), but this mod only has one version available so I don't know how that would work here.

 

I'll double check the file and plugin and try doing a "clean" install on my end to see if something can get borked during MO install or whatever, but I honestly don't know what the deal is there.

The weird thing is that all of the files do show in MO's explorer, so it should be picking them up.

Yes. I haven't used FG much so I don't remember if it has any extra bits on the texture that may need to be pasted on the shark textures to get everything to look as intended, but otherwise the race should be FG-compatible as long as you get the ZeX skeleton and all the other requirements for FG.

 

Do remember to select the "Human Feet" skin option in the Body tab of LooksMenu to force the PC to use the default body mesh path (and thus load the FG body meshes instead of the custom "beast feet" CBBE ones that come by default).

What do you mean by "can't get the head to change", exactly? Do you mean you are stuck with a human head (or the one from the Anime Race)? Or does it load the proper shark head but you are having trouble customizing the face shape and all that?

 

Also I've never tried using the AnimeRace so I'm not sure yet, but I get the feeling it will be incompatible with this mod without a patch.

I mean, technically the game can load more than one custom race at once even though you can only play as one at a time (obviously), and I actually use it alongside Vulpines just fine. The problem is in the AnimeRace itself, because it changes the base skeleton and thus causes issues if you don't play as an... Anime girl? (or whatever a member of that "race" is called, lol). As I said, it should even be possible to make a patch for it, but I don't think I'll be touching the AnimeRace anytime soon if ever so don't expect it to happen from my end.
