[SSE] CTD with horses until reinstalling animations

I've found a weird CTD condition in my game. I was using sexlab defeat in combination with MNC (and billyy's sexlab anim loader pack for SE) and testing out some of the creatures. All was good until I got to horses, which would cause a CTD as soon as they tried to animate. After this happened, anytime I restarted the game and loaded any of my saves, it would CTD.

 

However, reinstalling Billyy's SE SLAL pack and then running FNIS would let me load my saves just fine. I tested it again and the results were the same: the game was normal and would only start crashing on every load after I caused a horse animation to play. The reinstall + FNIS procedure let me load games again.

 

For now I've just disabled horse animations in my MCM. I'm curious if anyone has had a similar experience, or what your thoughts are on this. Is it a known problem with some animations? Does simply disabling the animations sound like a good fix?

You don't need that "horse fix" anymore (it is outdated).  MNCs skeletons now need to overwrite the other skeletons (including XPMSE animal skeletons).  From the OP (of that same link):



...Don't let XPMSSE overwrite the skeletons.
