UNP vs CBBE vs LB vs Real Female Body

It all boils down to personal preference.  At first I was big on CBBE then CHSBHC then UNP then anything with TBBP.  I recently started a new game and now using LB (with the TBBP walking/running anims, but no 'bounce').

CBBE is more realistic and very customizable if you like the girls with natural boobs or plastic boobs.

The looks of the body mesh is naturally a matter of preference as PsychoMachina say.

Some like round shapes, perky tits and so on.

 

What matters to me is the detail of the texture.

And now I'm not talking about the ingame experience as you have to examine this very closely to see the difference.

But the actual .dds file.

Here CBBE has a great advantage seeing the UNP texture is a mess, two vaginas?

Might spin off to another fetishism but it doesn't work for me.

 

I haven't tried either of LB or RFB so I can't say anything about those two.

Started with CBBE but dropped if forever once UNP got actual armor replacers. Now I'm resting comfortable on UNPB-TBBP and use the Racemenu to customized the breast size.

 

Don't see a point to CBBE anymore; UNPB bridged the gap between the breast sizes between UNP and CBBE which was the only complaint half the people using it has against UNP. And Racemenu lets you go up to CHSBHC sizes so that has been covered for both CBBE and UNP.

 

With Skyrims weight sliders we don't need this many body types; Fallout and oblivion don't have weight sliders which is why they have so many but it feels redundant here.

 

And my main support for UNP is the fact that its backwards compatible. I have UNP, UNPB, UNPB-BBP, UNPB-TBBP armors in my game with no glaring texture problems Its nice never having to panic for conversions.

Well, I got another question about each type of body... How hard is the FPS hit that each one gives? I'm using CBBE right now and I noticed that my FPS is kinda low... When I used UNP I didn't noticed this change...(Theses changes on FPS can only be seen if I use the third person camera)

 

 And sorry, i'm not so good with english ><!

 Just installed UNP + UNPB and the FPS went UP again. Guess I'm not going to use CBBE anymore xD

The body itself is just a skeleton, it shouldn't slow the game down any. Using HD textures you can get some FPS loss, but that goes for anything in the game.

Try using this tool to make the textures smaller, see if it helps.

Also, thanks of that comparison pic up top. Pretty soundly displays just how ludicrous CBBE looks from a realism standpoint, and how much more like an actual woman (even a model/porn star like pictured) UNP and LB actually are. XD

 

I can't really agree.  In fact to me CBBE's hips look much more like the actual woman, LB and UNB both have pelvic crests that are much too pronounced and make that area look "lumpy".  Some women do have that, of course, but it isn't necessarily more realistic.  LB in particular has an extremely unnatural-looking shoulder-breast region, IMO, where it looks like her shoulders are set too far back from her chest.  When viewed in game the breasts are too round and perky for their size; they have basically no gravity to them.  Once again, I have seen the rare young woman with boobs like that, but it isn't exactly the norm.  LB's body looks nice in a lot of ways, but I wouldn't call it significantly more realistic than any other.

 

CBBE's primary problems are with a waist that is a bit too pinched and breasts that are too round, but both of those are easily alter-able with BodySlide.  In fact with BodySlide, a tool that no other body takes advantage of to even half the effect that CBBE does, you can make CBBE much more realistic-looking than either of the others.  And to top it off, the Realistic Body System can use BodySlide combined with a SkyProc patcher to generate unique-looking bodies and select different textures for virtually every NPC -- because nothing is more unrealistic than every woman having the same-shaped body.

 

Nice job picking Luba as the example for "real woman", btw.  I'd know that figure anywhere.  I wouldn't call her so much a "real woman" as the living embodiment of female perfection.  There aren't many who look like her.

I've thought about that but never went deeper into this matter... However, now it seams logical... Though wouldn't different unique female bodies cause problems making custom armors and cloths for them?

 

Oh! You recognised her? Well, I was forced to use her as an example for she was the only one available at the time. But if you have a stock model or know a link to better looking nude female frontal photo - I'm all ears!

I ma not really into oversized breasts or butts lol. And I am not really into loli, but there are some things in there that i like such as the armors. I just want to use the armors from there without useing loli. If at all posible.

 

I will be building a new bc soon. It will have uber graphics that will last me a few years this time around.

I want to get the best graphics for this game hat i can while useing the realism you all bring to the game.

I am photoshop illeterate. I can only hope you guys will be able to help me with this if none of you don't

mind my noob questions.

Those pictures are from LB (Lady Body). It is another body mod, similar to UNP or CBBE.

 

LB, UNP, and CBBE all have different armors available, as well as textures for the skin. Some are compatible with some face mods (no neck seam) while others are not. LB has the least support, and it is the most restricting when it comes to options, unless you have the tools and skill to modify it for your personal preference.

 

CBBE seems to have more of the larger breast/butt support. UNP has some, and those body mods and armors are usually called UNPB (blessed).

 

CBBE and UNP also have 'slim' versions, which I prefer, as they look more realistic to me. 

 

Both CBBE and UNP have physics support, for bounce, if you want that. These are usually designated with CHSBHC or BBP.

 

The muscles, or gloss, or whatever effects you want on the body, are also body specific, and are usually just a texture overlay.

 

I like the 'loli' armors as well, and there are two different versions of them. One uses CBBE (monli) and the other uses UNP (CoTS). These mods use a different skeleton, to make the character smaller, but keeping the 1.0 size scale attributes for running/jumping/damage/etc.

 

Now, to make the game look good, and make the characters look good, you need to look at the textures of the bodies, find face packs that blend well with the neck, and decent textures of the armors you like. Using ENB will help a lot too, because you can modify the lighting, and other effects, while inside the game. Lighting goes a very long way in making something look great.

 

My current character is using a loli skeleton (CoTS), UNP based skin. I have included a CBBE armor in one of the screens, you can see it changed the breast area a little bit, but other than that there is no issue. Sometimes you can use UNP armor on CBBE, or CBBE on UNP, and there will not be a large change. The skeletons will support both. The body just changes a bit to accommodate the armor. Example: UNP has larger breasts than UNP Slim. If you use UNP Slim for your character, and put on UNP armor, your breasts/butt/shoulders/arms/legs will grow a bit to fit the armor, even if the armor doesn't cover all of those areas.

Those are pics of my Breton using Lady Body and the Lady Body armors.  LB does not have a long list of compatible armors and accessories, but what is available is highly detailed and beautiful.

Lady Body is not compatible with any beauty mods out there with the exception of Enhanced Character Edit, eye packs, and hair packs.

 

Also I'm running Skyrim 1.8 with ENB + Wintertide (quality) presets on Ultra-High settings.  My pc is only an i7+GTX560 ti running Win7.  So far no fps drops, but on certain occasions there are loading issues when changing cells or loading a game save.

 

I don't use Photoshop on my pics, only FastStone Viewer to do some color and light balancing.

I don't have anything against CBBE but saying that CBBE is a "your girl next door" body would be like claiming that this

I'm not even going to go into my usually forum rant about the differences between UNP and CBBE. I'm leaving my 4 years of art school experience in the closet and saying:

 

"CBBE = Pamela Anderson, UNP = Felicia day."

^{When Skyrim first came out, I used CBBE Slim... but it didnt catch on verry welll most modders were doing there thing with the reg CBBE but there were a couple real nice ones and I evan got Cherry's skeleton to work with it though I dont remember how .... And then UNP made its debate and ive been hooked every since... of course now I use UNPB, I just use min breast size most of the time and I get the body shape I want. Ive always been a UNP guy and I doubt ill use anything else evan if something better does come out, Dimonized always upgrades and im sure he will keep on doing so. IMO of course}

I'm happier with UNP. Nothing much to mess with, just focus on the gameplay, with the occasional photo-op in between.

UNP for me.  Stuffed_Bunny did a wonder on it with the Bodyslide and 99% vanilla conversions.

 

Though once all of Cal's vanilla conversions are done in the upcoming year or 2 I will likely change preference, no idea really.  For now though UNP is the best.

 

Wish someone would make a damn bodyslide for men though.

imo problem with mods like adec is it has no vanilla support, or at least that i know of, if theres no lore friendly vanilla support the body type seems wasted, goes for all body mods imo.

Though one question remains: what about vanilla body? Was it so bad and unbalanced that moders had to make a new ones? Or it wasn't and they fixed unbroken thing?

I tried all bodies but stuck with cbbe. I can't escape those amazing computer generated boobs, and even better when I can use bodyslide to push the body to its mature side.

For me it is UNP all the way, I tried them all also, I do like ADEC also but so few armors sets are a big downside.

 

As for realism I don't really care since theres no dragon in my backyard (thanks for that) but CBBE looked too barby doll for my tastes.

Prior to playing with CotS, I used UNP.  I have to say though, I have never seen the Real Female Body shown on the far right of the OP.  It looks pretty good!
