TarnisMartell Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Hey guys, Â Im having some trouble lately. I cant load any saves anymore -it just goes CTD when at the end of the loading screen. I can however start new games and play pretty stable... but whenever I want to load another savegame -bang. over and then restart/ new game again. Â I really dont know why, this came all over sudden without actually changin anything. 2 weeks before this I switched from nexus to vortex, which hasnt been goin so smooth but it worked pretty well in the end. Â I am also having trouble with my ENB, when I load a new game I cant see anything ingame except for the eyes of teh character I m about to build. When I turn ENB off (shift+12) all works well. (loading issue remains untouched by ENB on/off) Â I dont know if these two things are related... but again: it all worked well for two weeks and then without me adding/chaging anything it suddenly stopped... Â Any ideas/experience with these things? I d be very thankful for any input. I hate to restart every time I open Skyrim... >.>

You might be suffering from saved game bloat, which is a different issue altogether. Â I can't help you with ENB OR Vortex since I don't use either.
Wolborg Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 If you try to load a savegame and your Skyrim CTDs, you can try this: Â 1. Execute Skyrim 2. Instead of "continue" or "load", press ~ to open the console, and type coc qasmoke 3. Wait until the game opens with you as default character in some strange dim room. 4. Press ESC to open the menu, click "Load" and load the savegame you originally wanted. Â Often this method helps opening savegames that wouldn't open the regular way. Â

The problem is not animations, it's how multiple cores are utilised by Skyrim. Load Game CTD Fix. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/85443
TarnisMartell Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 It actually was animations. I updated the devious devices, integration & expansion are the ones to disable to make it work again. But its kinda stupid having to do without it. Doesnt matter, better have it running without than having it not run at all thank you all for your advice!

It will be the number of character animations which caused the problem not specific animation mods as such. How many character animations does FNIS say have? Everyone has a different limit but try uninstalling one or two of your other (large) animation packs and reinstalling the DD mods. The number of creature animations doesn't matter, it's just the character animations.

The number of creature animations doesn't matter, it's just the character animations. it said something about 12.800 but I am quite surprised by the amount as I dont have a lot installed... but thats where my problems with vortex kick in. it doesnt really work.... whenever I deactivate sth, the plugins remain active. uninstalling doesnt work at all, have to do it manually too. which kinda is the basic job of a mod manager... pretty lame
