Lots of people use reshade. I have it, it's active. But I never really figured out quite how to use it and didn't see a notable difference when I got it running. That said it might be doing something different and I'm simply not aware of it anymore ?

I've heard sweetFx is easier to use and is less of a impact on framerates... just haven't tested it myself yet

I use reshade 2 years ago, but I dont like the change on the menu, the hud. Plus the result is a bit strange because of the contrast. Maybe it is better now, but I like my game vanilla for now.

@lanmi81 A side note - the piercing is not exactly properly weighted, so it may require adjusting the sim's body proportions for the best fit - it is positioned for slim to average body type.
