Admittedly, it was a silly thing for me to say since I wasn't really supporting the patches anymore and noone was asking me to anyway.

 

I just wanted to find a polite way to tell people to stop posting in the thread lol.

Maybe someone here knows what is going on. I know Corsec does not provide support anymore, but anyway.

 

I am still using the old patches with "real" devious devices. I do not seem to have issues with suspended stacks: Both "Suspended Stacks 1" and "Suspended Stacks 2" are empty in my saves. 

What I do have is an issue where DD tries to equip multiple sets of devices on NPCs. This of course fails every time as the NPCs already wear devices in those slots. The real annoying part is that every time this happens I get one of those error checkboxes "It is impossible to wear multiple harnesses simultaneously", which one has to click away with "Ok". 

 

Does anyone know the cause or a fix?

Unlike normal worn items, DDs use seperate items for the devices equipped in your inventory and the devices worn by your character. It needs to run scripts to read what items are equipped in an NPC inventory and then setup the worn items on the NPC. So when you enter a cell with new NPCs who are wearing DDs there are scripts that run on the NPCs to setup their outfit. The reason that multiple sets are being equipped on NPCs is that the scripts are being overloaded and then failing to finish the worn outfit, so it waits a while and then generates a new randomized outfit and tries again but it doesn't remove the previous outfit. This keeps happening over and over again until it eventually finishes an outfit. This results in NPCs wearing mismatched devious devices from the repeated attempts to apply new randomized outfits, which is how I can tell that something is wrong, it's not supposed to do that.

 

You won't see the suspended stacks at all times. If you enter a new area with a lot of NPCs wearing DDs you will get the suspended stacks in your saves very soon after entering the area. When I recorded the suspended stacks they were usually happening in the first 60 seconds or so of entering a new area. You can test this by entering a new area with a lot of NPCs in DDs and then making frequent saves every 10 seconds ro so. And then check the savegames in TESVESSE or another savegame cleaner to see if there are suspended stacks. You might not notice anything if you only have a small number of NPCs in DDS. I noticed it after I was putting most civilian female NPCs into DDs.

 

This is exactly why I switched over to using non-devious devices. In the long run this is potentially a game-breaking problem because it can prevent other scripts from running correctly.

"Unfortunately" I do not have NPCs with mismatched outfits. And I just tested again in Whiterun, where I got between 10 and 15 NPCs with devices and I still could not produce suspended stacks. CPU is a 5800x3d; it seems capable of handling this load.
So this does not appear to be the issue, at least not by the indicators I got. 

But something is clearly wrong - I guess I will have to search further. Or I could switch to non-DD devices.

Or more likely I get annoyed enough by it to finally do a clean new setup from scratch and switch over to SE, which is something I wanted to do for a long time anyway.

Recommended, I have like 700 plugins in my modlist and I can't imagine going back to 255 now lol.

 

It's been an improvement for me in every aspect except the need to port old mods over.

 

However I only have non-DD patches available on SSE, no 'real' DDs.

I remember struggling with "script heavy" mods in 2012 or 2013. Modern hardware has made Skyrim modding so much easier.

I've actually recently expanded the SSE non devious devices content so it now includes everything this is in the DD patch for LE. There isn't really any reason to port the LE patches.

 

Some items, such as the pet suit, ponygirl boots and breast yoke have to be DDs in order to get the animations to work correctly. Everything else works fine as non-DDs.

@Corsec So I happen to update DD to DDNG, using OAR and Pandora for animation. And now all the Hydra Slave Girl have their animation wrong. Armbinder, Yoke,.. etc all not working correctly. Do you have any idea why that happen?

I haven't updated the mod for DDNG, although it's on my todo list. Not currently modding Skyrim although I intend to come back eventually. First I've ever heard of Pandora. Does Pandora solve the problem of Nemesis not allowing creature sex animations?

 

Currently the Non-DDs use Zaz keywords for animations, so something must be going wrong with Zaz content. Maybe it requires FNIS and doesn't work with Pandora? You could confirm this by making a follower wear some Zaz items and see if they have the correct animations. If that theory is correct then anything that fixes Zaz animations in your game should also fix Non-DDs.

pa are paired anims, ofa are arm offset anims.

Ok, thanks. At least we have identified the issue. Does Pandora support OAR animations and the animations for normal DD items?

 

If Pandora can support animations for the normal DDs then your issue should be fixed when I eventually update Non-DDs for DDNG. But I don't plan to do it in the immediate future, I have a lot of lewd mods for other games still to play lol.

Pandora works better than Nemesis, it supports creature anims and OAR. Thus DD NG actually works quite well with it, because it relies on OAR and not FNIS/Nemesis/Pandora.

But as soon as some of the ZaZ anims needed - Pandora not working yet. Good old FNIS is still way to go to have all working.

Thanks for informing me! I ignored Nemesis because of the creature incompatibility, so it's good news that a new mod can support everything.  Does Pandora work with the latest generation of combat animation mods? Those are intended to use Nemesis rather than FNIS.

 

I've got a long todo list for when I start Skyrim modding, and I'll be updating all my patches then. But don't wait for it, because it will be in a few months at the soonest. I'm not in a hurry, I have lewd FO4 and Bannerlord playthroughs I want to finish first.

Due to the problem with pa and ofa anims there's quite a number of mods reported to be not working correctly with Pandora, this is why I'm still on FNIS and carefully watching Pandora. Until the issue I've linked is not resolved - it's too early to adopt it in my opinion.

Thanks for your patience. I think I got PTSD lol from all the time I had to spend debugging Skyrim modlists and dealing with all the CTD, it's given me a mental block for that game. My ratio of modding time to playtime is like 10:1 lmao. So I'm still burnt out, but I'll probably make my way back eventually.
