radbomber Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 I'm having a problem with the Alternate Start mod and since the developer locked the comment section on Nexus, I'm going to try my luck here. So, whenever I go to start a new game on original Skyrim the screen still displays the start screen emblem and nothing happens. Whenever I start a new game without Alternate Start active, it works just fine. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue?
Grey Cloud Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Given that thousands of users have been using ASLAL without problems for several years, maybe the problem is at your end? Is ASLAL at or near the end of your load order?

I've even tried running the mod by itself and the same thing happened.
Grey Cloud Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 When you start a new game are you letting all your mods load and the MCMs install? Do you have any other alt start type mods installed? Do you have any mod's which alter the abandoned prison? Have you read the mod's description page for the requirements and incompatibilities? Post our load order here.

Post our load order here. 1. Not sure how to check that from the start screen (one with the game logo) cause I can't get farther than that. 3. No I don't have any modes that affect the prison (that I know of, might be an small affect of one of the mods I have). 4. The mod's page didn't list any incompatibilities and I have all the requirements (all the game's dlc). I heard that it also it needs the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch to work which I have (saw this when trying to find out why it wasn't working). Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
Zaflis Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Sort your load order with LOOT https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1918 It will also analyze your Skyrim installation for other problems, some which you have to fix but others that may not be that vital. Then follow instructions from
Grey Cloud Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 mrst's guide is an overly complicated waste of time. 42 minutes ago, radbomber said: Not sure how to check that from the start screen (one with the game logo) cause I can't get farther than that. My fault that, I should have scratched it. You should use LOOT to produce your load order - the 3 vertical dots at top right. Looking at it, it is a mess. A lot of the mods I've never heard of and most of the rest require a lot of work to get them to play nice with Skyrim and each other. Specifically I'm talking about all the BDSM mods. Also you might want to try without the HDT tails and hairs etc. HDT stuff is notoriously tricky to get right.

The weird thing is that the mods I have seem to work fine even though they are supposed to not work well together, its just ASLAL that I can't get to work right. The REALLY weird thing is that I used to be able to run ASLAL no problem along side them and just one day it decided to stop working and I haven't got it working since. Will try to start a game without HDT and see how that turns out. Edit: Didn't work out with not using HDT mods.

Also a conflict like that can cause evil things ingame. You could find out what mod causes this. My guess it's any mod that allows you to sleep in beds via animation? If that's the case you have a very old mod installed, alternative would be "Go to bed". Mods that change scripts on beds are bad! Unless LL approved ;D I won't go thru you pic gallery, but you can export LO's via nexus mod manager: NMM plugin tab => left side find the icon "export load order" => you will get an txt file => copy paste into LL (post best in spoilers) Also for NMM: Remember that it is not enough to deactivate esp of mods that have overwritten other mod files physically. You need to deinstall mods, don't just deactivate them.
radbomber Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 Thanks for telling me about the load order. On the count of the NOTICE. I actually found out that wasn't what was causing it. I tried running the mod by itself and that message didn't pop up in the console but I was still stuck on the loading screen. I forgot to edit that part out.

Yes but you have explained it in one line whereas that 'guide' goes on forever and includes all sorts of things which are not needed to achieve a stable game. Donthouchmethere's guide is much better.

leyre Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Stupid question: are you using the TAI command before sleeping?

I can't get the game to start is the problem. I click start a new game and then I'm stuck looking at the game logo and listening to the main menu music on loop forever.
Grey Cloud Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Have you tried this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/
radbomber Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 Alright after fiddling with my mods and uninstalling some of them, I finally got it to work. I deleted a mod that I remembered had a small interaction with ASLAL and it is now working. I think it was due to the mod being an outdated version because it is also working with the current version of the mod and after I reinstalled all the mods I deleted.
