kapibar Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Modding Skyrim is so fun! You solve one problem and another one, even more irritating, takes its place. This time around black ball gags became invisible. The mouth opens like it should, the device locks, but it's invisible. I reinstalled pretty much everything, used bodyslide, but the damn thing still won't work. Little help?
Mez558 Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Strip your character naked, completely no clothes, armour, jewellery or Devious devices. Equip the gag, does it show up? If not, you're missing the mesh somehow. If so, then one of your armour pieces is hiding it. Normally can be fixed using the MCM menu of devious devices under Devices Underneath (I think it's called) Find out what armour slot the gag uses and what amour piece is hiding it.

In particular, make sure you build the items in the Unassigned category (a number of DD items hide in there).

The sliders don't alter anything that high. So what's left is missing DDA nif files propably, or load order done wrong way.

It seems that the nature of the problem has changed. Now it only occurs for standard size ring and ball gags and is exclusive for elves. Which is infuriating, since I'm using an elf character.

Could it be that the face import in racemenu is causing this bug? If so, it should be unique to your character. It shouldn't be hard to try it out on an unsuspecting elven NPC to see if it shows for them.

And it happened, so we can safely assume it's a race issue. I've never seen such issue.

Are you playing a custom elven race?
Zaflis Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Test items on nord characters, that's what devices are mainly made for.
kapibar Posted September 3, 2019 Author Posted September 3, 2019 OK, I'll test on both Nord and NPC when I come home.
kapibar Posted September 3, 2019 Author Posted September 3, 2019 @Psalam, @Zaflis, @Mez558 I checked and: a) On a Nord, Redguard and Imperial character everything is fine, the gags are visible b) On an Elf character or NPC - the gags are invisible, just as described in the first post So it is clearly a race issue.
evilblade Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Having the exact same issue here with gags on an elven characters.. Did someone solve it?
