I installed a few mods and now it has turned all canine creatures such as dogs and wolfs into this red triangle with a white bit in the middle. is there anyway i can fix this without having to deleted and reinstall skyrim and all my mods?

Yep. You are missing meshes. If they were okay before then one or more of your new mods has probably overwritten them. If they were part of the mods you have just installed then something has gone wrong there.

the canine meshes are under \steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\canine    right? cause i looked at the mods and none of the new ones added anything to this foldier

What mod manager are you using?

Do you know your way around TESVEdit?

What mods did you install?

What about bears, horses etc?

My bedtime here. Hopefully someone will chip in or I will be back tomorrow.

If you have some form of BSA browser, you can simply extract the original canine mesh, and drop it into that folder, and your problem will be fixed. It's not actually a triangle, it's a diamond shape, with a big white exclamation point. It means you're missing a mesh.

If you have some sort of sex lab creature mod, instead, you will want to reinstall that mesh from the mod.

In that case you have screwed up.

A. You should be using a mod manager.

B. With the exception of Alternate Start, "that's all" doesn't begin to describe it.

C. You should be using a mod manager.

You have screwed up big time. Nobody here will be able to help you pick the bones out of that.

If you still did it by hand then 'everything is fine for now".

Many mods, for example, come with a FOMOD installer which provides you with choices for what needs to be installed. Installing by hand doesn't get you those choices. By 'choices' I mean either/or choices.

Read the module.xml in FOMOD folder. Then you have the choice - even with manual installation.

You know that, I know that but do you think the OP knows that?

Currently getting this but with horses of all things.

I don't have any mods that edit horses except one that I made which was working fine and only edited *shadowmere* of all things.

Now ALL horses are red exclamation points.

Disabled all mods that could even possibly do this, and still no luck.

Wtf

edit, new game no mods same computer. Still no horse.
