Darth I checked with a member of the Ivy development team, and they reminded me that Reginald had posted stuff on Nexus at one time, before all the modpack BS and he was part of the Nexodus. I would say to check the discord for a newer version, its and excellent mod all in all.

Question, what kind of pool party do you celebrate on  tables? None? Don't you even play pool at all?

Well I really hate these vanilla pool balls/tables. Nice together with Crimsomrider's Unique Furniture:

Realistic Pool Balls HD and for more table variations Pool Table HD Variants just a few .dds files.

You can modav your carryweight, use Unlimited Fast Travel - F4SE and/or Salvage Beacons.

Craft station at settlement, assign settler, craft beacon at chem, deposit loot in any container,

put beacon in that one, pop-up menu asks for owned settlement/workshop location.

Basement Apartment (Goodneighbor Expanded) is a target location as well as FH and NW.

Miscellaneous quest toggleable, quest marker for container location.

Pop up message when delivered to workshop, retrieve beacon there.

Cons, settler stays 24/7 at com station and distance/delivery time calculation malfunction

with Mechanist Liar and Vault 88 (team is sent from Sanctuary to Quincy instead of Vault 88).

Jamaica Plain is a lot faster but no team from 88. Minor issue, 3-4 stations FH, NW and C is

sufficient for Salvage Beacons.

Just have a nice pool party and don't carry to much nonsense!

Just an update, I talked to the MO on Red Rocket, he told me thank you for the heads-up, and that he would talk to the site about removing the mod, since they didn't have permission to host it.

So thank you for the heads-up

@DarthNyriss same MO makes Ivy and the Red Rocket Basement, there are actually 2 different mods for the basement, one is furnished and the other one isnt, you can use both, i found them on discord

I can send you a discord link for it or post it if anyone wants it

Combining my icon patches seems to be a bit more difficult... So i'll combine the non-optional mods of each group. Lets start with armor (delete the patches with 'armor' before installing the new ones):

Combined Armor - Icon Patch.7z

Combined Armor - Optional loose patches.7z

As the patches contain no scripts they should be safe to replace on an existing game. Simply ignore the warning at the start. ?

This will save us ~20 separate patches.

AND reginalds prefab shackfest is on there as well. But then again IVY is on a russian site along with A.S.I.A. and Droids of the Commonwealth with no credits to trykz, whom i am a little miffed at for removing A.S.I.A. and droids from LL. I just have my own DL from before. but I can't use it since I have no idea how to convert the body to fusion girl, the skin looks way messed up afterwards (like a cbbe skeleton with a unp skin in skyrim) since ALL of that mod uses hand built skin textures for cbbe. It's disheartening since i enjoyed playing as a synth who didn't worry about such things as radiation.

What do you think about "Player Comments and Head Tracking" https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22166

It seems very nice and still updated

It adds a level of immersion, but you need to watch out for the scripting on that one and say SS2(script heavy) as they both firing off at the same time will make you thin about your life's choices while you wait

And yes I've used it in the past and like it but I am trying to get SS2 do work without total chaos, so I skipped it this playthrough

I've been to Reginald's Discord. found just the one unfurnished version.  I'd love to find the furnished one.

Can cause CTD as it is incompatible with some mods in the guide.

Plus the comments get annoying very fast.

I talked with S4iS3i the creator of the "Look At Me" serie and he says that it will not bring back the "Look At Me - Minutemen Edition". He recommands this mod instead : Far West Minutemen. He replaced his previous mod by Look At Me - Goodneighbor Edition.

Also I am trying to understand ECO and I don't want my crafting to be overpowered. What config do you recommand ?

Hi Aylis. First of all there's an enormous amount of work put here but I think the title "fallout-iv-for-beginners" is a bit misleading ^^

I tried two times to follow your guide but everytime something is wrong. Last time I had horrible stutters at every cell loading, 2 to 3 sec in wilderness, up to 5 sec in towns, that was juste unplayable. I didn't manage to identify which mod caused that, but there are countless occurences where I could do something wrong, due to the lack of explanations.

For example, about Buffout:

- should I install also the TBB redistributables ?

- you don't talk about the prerequisite, xSE PluginPreloader F4, should I add it, or not ?

- You also wrote "Don't forget to set the 'MemoryManager' parameter to 'false'." Where that comes from ? I cannot find it in the mod description, did I miss something ?

I will probably have many more questions as I won't give up modding this game, hope you will be kind enough to help a total newbie !

Magma so some answers

Yes to the TTBs (need that for Buffout to work)

Plugin Preloader is superceded by Buffout.

The set memorymanager parameter is found in the Buffout Mod folder, I believe it's the text file, it reads memorymanager = True, that where you change it to false. And keep asking questions, no one here is going to critize you for it. It's the only way we learn and get familiar. One thing remember that with MO2 you can add / remove files by just unchecking the box on the left panel, so you can find out what causing you grief.

Magma also you need to be aware of what hardware your machine has. For instance you really don't want to run lots of 4k textures unless you have 8gb plus of Vram. Also a lot of lag is related to script heavy mods, like Sim Settlements 2, where when you load into a cell the scripts running for objects in that cell has to load, the more objects the more scripts the more lag(stutter). That's only one example of lag, but you get the gist. Game resolution is another, a simple thing like changing the default game graphics from Ultra to high can make you go from lag fest to cheetah mode.

Simplest answer if you don't want overpowered, would be to disable legendary crafting. This will basically put you at the vanilla state of having to find legendaries and use them as is.

That said, having Legendary Crafting enabled will not itself make for overpowered game. You have by default a 50% chance of getting a "chip" back when scrapping a legendary item, which once you collect enough of them you can use them along with other components to create a legendary mod of your choice on whatever armor/weapon you want. This would allow for more customization of a favorite weapon, but relies on getting the chips needed. That is configurable in the MCM, so you could lower the chances or increase (to a maximum chance of 100%.. i think its a 1 value in the slider would have to check)

Thanks, I think my hardware won't be a problem (i7 7700K, GTX 1080 and 32K Ram), still I stay with 2K textures max for pretty much everything.

I finished to reinstall everything up to the textures part, I tried a quick test and the game runs smooth at this stage. I will continue to add mods and tests until I find the culprit.

Quick question: "additional body textures", there is no option for fusion girl nor bodytalk. Should I pick textures for the 2 genders of ghouls and the old women? if yes, should I pick CBBE or EVB ?

Also be aware the 1080 is starting to show it's age and once the GPU prices come down to normal, replacing it would be my first upgrade. That said, older games struggle with newer CPUs there are some threads/ mod  to allow the use of Vulkan Physics with those GPUs.
