I suspect that because many Chinese, Japanese and Russian modders post on sites not as well known to us, when the assholes turn up from those regions many focus on them and start regarding their whole communities that way because of that and the language barrier, which is of course wrong.

Dunno. The concentration of, uh, special snowflakes on the nexus sites for example is a lot higher than anywhere else (when we are speaking of modding communities) on the internet. The nexus is mostly a western community if I am not mistaken and all the drama there is nothing compared to what the occasional japanese (or chinese, russian... basically everything most westerners consider alien) dude does when he feels like it's time to act like a douche. For every japanese dude that pulled his mods for no apparent reason there are two from the nexus who did the same.

 

Even stuff like charging money for mods is nothing new here, the only difference being is that I can imagine it's a lot easier to pull off a scam in china, being that most copyright stuff is managed in the U.S. and if some chinese dudes start selling Skyrim mods for money it is a lot harder for Bethesda to shut this down, given the language barrier (how many lawsuits in the US can read chinese?) and different laws in china. It's not because the chinese have a natural tendency to rip off people or any crap like that. Or that the japanese are inherently arrogant and selfish.

I think that it's simply due to the fact that' date=' very broadly, western aesthetics are shifting from [i']"the naturally overgrown"[/i] to "the artificially clean", reflecting an increase in the feasibility of maintaining one's personal hygiene and body care to higher standards.

Basically, a hairy, unkempt person would kind of clash with a clean and visually orderly environment.

 

Tell this to my boyfriend. His dick's got a bigger beard than his face. Same goes for his legs, Sasquatch has less leg hair than this man. I've politely asked him to maybe do something about it, and he reacted like I'd insulted his manhood. To listen to him, you'd think male Olympic swimmers aren't true men because they shave their legs.

 

Now, don't get me wrong, I like a decent amount of hair on a guy. A man with a beard and a good amount of chest hair is a turn on. But it's like guys take it as freedom to just let it grow however, and fuck you if you don't like it.

 

I guess hair aesthetics are divided by gender as much as nationality. Which is really annoying, from a woman's perspective. Why should we be the ones stuck with all the personal grooming?

You're not. Slowly but surely, I think some of us are coming out of the woodwork. Some of my friends at uni shaved, and I've shaved since I can remember. I've always operated from the principle that, if you want something on someone else, it is only fair to reciprocate the favour.

 

Been doing it for so long, that these days if I *don't* do it the hairs growing back itch like holy hell fire. I suppose shaving only makes it worse (thicker hairs and all that) but waxing is just outside of the question. And then you you boil down that men's blades are like £15 per cartridge, and it really isn't surprising that I stick to the girls ones, venus this and all that, a quarter of the price and you even get those little strips of gel and aloe vera and what have you on the blades

 

Now, don't ask me how we're having this discussion on a Chinese community always surprises me thread.

From all I know, most people in China don't have broadband internet access. So many of them depend on DVD version, just like this case. Just like some third world countries sold pirated PC game DVDs on the street, while they actually can download it for free in.......you know where.

 

I do believe the buyers of those Skyrim mods compilation DVD are not many. Smart people will went to Nexus and here. But there are always ignorant, lazy, children and people who can't read English who bought it. Just like most of us depend on someone to reupload Hentai games to English website.
