JobiWanUK Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I have auto-updates disabled but I'm seeing on Reddit that there's been a Skyrim SE update today that's made SKSE FUBAR again.
nufndash Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Did the update already happen? I am trying the "no update" fix found on Reddit and wondering if it worked. Nevermind, I guess it did. And setting the appmanifest thingy to read only seemed to work. I have no idea what other things I might have broke, but right now SSE is still working.
Ascian Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 It already happened yes... unfortunately, because i still had auto update active.

Can you please point me to that fix? My Skyrim already did update but for the next time I want to prevent it.
EvilReFlex Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 SkSE update is already out. https://skse.silverlock.org/

I'm not sure of all the rules about linking things here and I don't want to send you to a page that is unsafe, so I will just tell you how I got there. I just Googled how to keep skyrim se from updating. It was the first or second response on Reddit. But it looks like the SKSE people are right on it, so maybe it's not necessary. I don't know if it will screw up your SMP physics though. That is what gave me the most trouble a few updates ago.

Mister X Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Thanks, I found this guide to get an older .exe: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19658 BTW, here Vortex comes in handy: 1) download the .exe 2) put it in an archive 3) install it like every other mod with Vortex 4) set "mod type" to "dinput", so it overwrites the newer .exe 5) have fun with the older version until anything you need is updated

Church the Cat Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Now I just need SexlabUtil and SOS to be updated to 1.5.80 and I should be good. Unless they already have and I just missed it, anyway.
CrysisWar1234 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Fuck me... Enough of these pointless CC updates.
Vortec Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Does anyone know what was changed on this update?, changelog anywhere?.
teitogun Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 I guess I have no one but myself to blame for forgetting to disable auto updates It didn't occur to me that Beth would still release updates for this game. Can anyone confirm which major mods are broken by this update? I know SOS is, but what about sexlab and racemenu? Could they work with the new version without screwing up the save file or would it be safer to just disable them for now?

Kain82 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Aside from putting the game to update only when the game is launched. You can either backup the Skyrim.exe or download this easy to use program from Nexus which automatically backups your Skyrim.exe. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12480
Unfrog12 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Installed the latest version, not working...this is annoying. Edit: Got it working, forgot to replace the steam DLL. RM, SoS, SL Utilities and J Containers are all throwing error messages though, looks like I have to wait a bit until things get updated.
EvilReFlex Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Tried to rollback and also rebuild the ini files, but I get a infinite loading screen after launch. ?
thorn Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Hm. When I changed this byte in skee64.dll to 85h in hex editor, it allowed me to load my jslot preset. So, if you're really impatient, you can try it out. Or maybe you shouldn't.
