op load the game, load his save, move a little, save, move a little, enter ctd zone, and ctd again (what he tried didn't work? complicated to fix ctd relying on luck)

once that was done, you start installing mods

only way to make those null disappear, either you delete 47 from broken save, to load newer version in that save

either you just restart a new game (why bother for a save outside helgen)

step is supposed to be a guide on how to mod skyrim (but unless you come from console, you won't learn much)

spo it's a list of mods to install in an order for the game to look like the screens

it's not lazy edit... it's dirty edit

you click on alga instead of aela, you close alga, do whatever to aela, save your mod, you have alga in your esp, unmodified (a dirty edit, record that was put in the esp for no reason, and is useless)

doesn't that mean you are supposed to click on new game after installing those mods

so you don't save after helgen, install those mod, load your helgen save, and... surprise

if you remove mod x, there's no more mod x to load mod x stuff from your save, deleting that do nothing in game (it make the save smaller, but messing with the save for a few kb... leave the save alone if no reason to mess with it)

mod x was replacing a quest reward with mod x weapon, that stuff is from skyrim.esm, it wasn't deleted, it's still in your save (deleting mod x leftovers didn't remove its edit to other mods, so you haven't really clean your save from mod x, bad idea to trust that blabla)

Guys, the only mod that caused ctd to my game was a corrupted download of TKAA. I have already told you. I solved that problem 3-4 days ago. It was a conflict with "Interesting NPCs" mod.

 

The only ctd I experienced after that was yesterday, because "Defeat" mod has gone mad and probably have corrupted my save thanks to the broken Lydia.

I have sorted the mod list with LOOT as you suggest.

 

Btw, my computer pc specs are:

- AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Quad-Core Processor

- 16,00 GB RAM

- Nvidia GTX 1070 8 GB

- Last build of Windows 10 Pro

 

What I don't understand, and probably is for my poor english, is where are you going with this? xD The discussion derailed a bit, and I sincerely don't understand what I should do.

Sorry, Zep. You are seeing a longstanding issue being discussed on your thread. I am afraid that you are correct and I am having difficulty sorting out the forest for the trees. If you would be kind enough to express again what problem you are currently having I will help you chase it down if I can.

tkaa it's kids that have a head generated with femalehead.nif

3dnpc (and any mod that haves kids) come with vanilla kid head in the nif

 

game won't find headpart brow in that nif (it's on vanilla kid texture, those races were given nord stuff, those kids can have scars and beards now), so it ignore the nif and generate a head for that npc

and the ctd... there's some choice

npc mouth morph is 6, edited race have mouth 1,2,3,4, ctd because game can't load a mouth 6 on that npc

npc have unedited headpart x that have edited extra headpart y, ctd because x is the same headpart type as y with the mod

unedited headpart x nif have a bone that doesn't exist in new skeleton, ctd

 

fixing that ctd do nothing about the rest, it's just the visible part of the iceberg

 

you start quest x, objective was "kill npc y", now you have "kill null", you can't do quest x

script was supposed to remove essential flag from npc for you to be able to kill him, script no longer do it, npc stay essential

not because it doesn't crash the game it doesn't matter (problem have to make the game unload to load something to get a ctd)

Because I downloaded the bad version from Skyrim Beautification Project. With the the original one, the issue is gone.

I think that fixing that issue, is one less issue. The iceberg will be melted a little bit at a time.

The game works just fine. I don't have brownish/grey faces for NPCs. I don't have anymore specific areas that cause ctd.

 

I appreciate your explanations, but I don't understand what you suggest me to do to fix my possible other issues.

As I said in the first post, some plugins are disabled and merged in one esp.

 

Load order is a long and tiresome subject. For the most part it is best to run LOOT (the Load Order Optimisation Tool found on GitHub) and use that load order. However, while it is a good algorithm, nothing is perfect. Any mod that is causing you issues is better moved down your load order (the lower a mod is in your load order, the fewer things overwrite it. That means it is less likely to be fouled up by other mods). Of course, the flip side of that is that the mod that you move further down your load order is then more likely to cause issues with other mods. Ultimately, it is still trial and error. To summarize: run LOOT. If that load order gives you a problem with a particular mod (in your case "Defeat") move that mod further down your load order and start a new game. If the problem persists, move it further down still. Continue until it comes just before "Live Another Life" or the problem is resolved (or you can live with it).

Yatol's explanations only ever make sense on planet Yatol.

 

Defeat can and does causes problems. No easy answer for that one. Personally, I gave up on it as it's not something I used a lot.

 

LL mods, generally speaking, can go where LOOT puts them - they are just mods.

 

If you are trouble-shooting, first thing to do is take the merges out of the equation.

 

Do yourself a favour and go through all those esps with 'fix' in the name. Look at the mod which needs the fix and find out why it needs it; is there an update which eleiminates the need for the fix; is there an alternative mod which does the same thing only better?

I appreciate your explanations, but I don't understand what you suggest me to do to fix my possible other issues.

if you wait to be on that quest MG07, and 47011DCD not being able to do 47011D86 is a problem, whatever you do to your load order won't apply in game

that quest is in your save that overwrite your fix

you can't load your save in tesedit (ess don't have same header as esp), to fix that mess, you have to search 47011DCD with savegamecleaner, to put the fix in the save

 

a step you don't add if you fix that mess before seing it in game

and fixing all that mess at once, it's faster than waiting to have one, fix it, waiting for the other, fix it

 

you have the id of the problem in the log, copy pasting that in tesedit isn't hard

mg07 is from skyrim, you can compare skyrim.esm to mod 47, and if there's 00011d86 in skyrim, 00 became 47 for some reason, and you will much 00 that became 47 with check for errors (if there's too much, get rid of mod 47)
