I'll be frank, at first I was not too wrapped up in the BF3 scene cause I dont usually play those type of FPS games with an online emphasis but its hard not to feel hype after watching some of the videos on youtube. Im surprised that gamers (gamers as in: someone who plays games for fun and not with an agenda) here arnt at least somewhat intrigued by it. Â Unfortunately for me the combination of EA+Origin makes my decision easy for me, I'll wait for bargain bin prices before buying it. Thankfully I have a healthy backlog anyway so its not like I will be left with nothing to play in the mean time. Â Here a clip to generate hype. Its fanmade and apparently the soundtrack is from Inception.

The trailers are awesome and I'm glad they brought back some dogfights into the game. Â I focus mainly on the single-player campaign so any issues surrounding multiplayer usually don't apply to me. And even if I do get into multiplayer, should there be any "problems", I wouldn't know what they are or otherwise I would just "make do" (like a marine, lol). Â If EA + Origin is such a big problem then I would recommend playing the console versions. Otherwise, you should probably wait for Steam to release it instead assuming you're fine with the whole Steamworks thing.

Daguy Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Hm, I actually had it preordered, but cancelled it due to a combination of Origin, lack of funds, and Skyrim CE coming out so soon after. Â I dislike Steam enough (though sadly am forced to use it to play certain thngs) and frankly with Skyrim (and then SW:TOR in Dec) I don't know when i'd ever find the time to play it. Â I will pick it up, but probobly next year, on a Steam offer.

People getting triple/quadruple billed, being unable to access servers, being unable to dl the game, getting no activation code, etc. If I do eventually pick it up, it'll be on PS3. Which is going to take a lot of getting used to, since I never play FPS games on console. Ever. Though, I do hear that flying jets is easier with a controller due to the way they programmed pitch/roll. Â for the lulz

LordJerle Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I rented it from Red Box the other day. Couldn't play multiplayer, but I did play the single player campaign. Too much like a CoD clone to me, which pissed me off, I hate all the CoD's after 3.
Presto Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Been trying to get into it for the last week and it just isn't clicking with me. Something about the graphics and how the enemies are so far away and you can barely see them makes the game rough for me to enjoy. I know its probably more realistic that you are 50+ yards away from the enemy in a real world battle situation but it makes the game tedious to me. Luckily I used gamefly and I can just send it back, I would've been bothered if I spent $60 on it.
Babychucker Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Been playing on pc, only issues I have had were some installing problems but it was an easy fix and playing online is amazing compared to Cod, some of the rush maps make this game insane. I have tried the console version briefly and I'll stick with pc being able to see everything much more clearly is really worth it.

Apparently when you sign it, you waive all right to hold EA legally responsible for anything that happens, say, you have your debit card or credit card info stored on their server for a subscription to SWTOR. It gets hacked. Your bank account gets drained, guess what? EA doesn't have to do shit, because you signed a contract that said they're not legally responsible for anything, even if it's their fault. Fuck that. "By accepting these terms, you and EA expressly waive the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action." And that's why I'm not buying any EA games. Period. Console, PC, whatever.
