I'm going to say it is the trigger for the door. you are over level X and the trigger was trying to equip something on you. but you loaded a cell at the same time. same reason i had to drop DDL from mine.

And after reading this i'm probably going to nuke my mod list and just start over. other than a few outfit mods and LAL

Whew. 4 hours into reinstalling mods and i'm only at Area Patches. holy hell these are some big texture mods..

Edit 2: it's now 1:30 local timoe and only as far as the bottom of the NPC section. But i"m excited to see skyrim in a solid state of beauty. :P

Normally mod managers vortex and such have a downloads folder so you dont have to redownload the mod its already downloaded in zip form

oh i did. and it does. but there were about half of the texture replacers i didn't bother with as i was only worried about a pretty pc. not the giants, mammoths, charus, rabbits etc. and i didn't care about the LOD either, so i had 200ish mods. 70% had to do with the pc directly or npc like the guards armor replacer. so it's ok, i don't have x, go get it. do i have Y? no. go get it. do i have A? yes! double click install and go to next. i'm actually down to the LL section now. i skipped a bunch of small replacers for now as i'm not sure how much more i can do plus still install ENB.(which i've never done, but i'll assume there is a tutorial somewhere on it)

ENB are quite simple:

Manually copy the files from Boris (see the description of the ENB) into your gamefolder and then drop the extracted files from the selected ENB on top of that. Done.

 

Most of the configuration is already done and often it is only the strengh of the DOF you have to think about. And maybe the de-/activation of the letterbox.

Regarding the textures. Do you guys and gals want some sort of 'reduced' list which still looks good?

 

And another thing. Do you want a separate unshaved version for the skin? Kokan gave me the two required files so that shouldn't be too hard to make.

and of course skse is now saying half the ones i just downloaded are "incompatable during query" a couple have error codes but since skse is the only thing i didn't redownload new. i might need to do that now as well. i did run into a slight problem and don't honestly know if i did right, but obsidian weathers came with 3 files, when i downloaded the enb for oblivian the tutorial is saying to unpack several things but it only had 3 files like obsidian. so i overwrote the obsidian files. and dyndolod can't find a .ini file at startup. or a registry key... ARGH!!

 

Wait i may be an idiot. i forgot the 2nd part of the SSE engine fixes

1. You first have to run Skyrim via the normal launcher (aka without SKSE). Then the game will initialize and create the required ini files. Hmmm, guess i should add that to 'Preinstallation'… (Done)

 

2. That part is confusing for me. Oblivian? What ENB did you download?

 

3. Overwriting the Obsidian files? No, there's no ENB that i know of that would require that. ?

 

 

I got to admit that i'm doing that for so long that i can't really see some problems beginners might have (for me a lot of it is obvious even if i try to put myself in your shoes). So posts like yours are a gold mine for me to improve the thread. ☺️

HA! yes i'm an idiot for the skse64 errors. Apparently just because i have the mod downloaded doesn't mean i installed the right one. so i am working on getting done with that. i mean obsidian weather. the one listed at the top of your list under lighting. :P

Or i feel like i'm in oblivian or i'm just oblivious either or works atm 

Edit like number 5... ok,, got the skse stuff down to just one error which is the sound so i'll look at that in a min. i may not have the right patches. i've run skyrim through all 4 different ways. through steam, through the two exe files skyrim launcher.exe and skyrim se.exe. and now through skse64. wwe will see what happens

LOOK OUT THE REDNECK LEARNED A COMPUTER COMMAND!!!! It wasn't in big bold letter so i missed the ADD "-SSE" to the arguments line in MO2 ?

ok here is the breakdown of what happened in my 2 hours of "oblivion" ? 

1.if you happen to use the final option and nuke your entire mod setup like i did. make sure you also delete the MO2 specific .ini files and start fresh. 

2. run the standard skyrim launcher from MO2 so it will pull the standard .ini files. 

3. when you install DynDOLOD in the gears button. at the arguments line make sure you up -SSE in that line or it wwill always try to look for TESV not SSE. 

4. Verify which skyrim sse you do have by right clicking the skyrim.exe and inder properties find the build number. this number governs wwhat you get, don't be an idiot and think "i downloaded that last week it will be fine" and if you have multiple build numbers in a page. make sure you get the right one for your build. i HAD the wrong jcontainers thinking it was current so SKSE64 flagged it as incompatible.

5. read the directions. Don't be a redneck and think you've done it before its ok.

I would also recommend Bethini for editing the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files. I find it a lot easier to navigate and find things than using a text editor.

Just remember if you do use it, do it from outside of MO2, as it does not play well from within it.

Blackthorn is pretty bad in the mats section, you buy each "plot" for varied prices 10k for the tavern/hotel i think the cheapest is the book seller for about 1500, but then you "build" each shop. the biggest mats are things you can collect yourself like firewood rather than the vanilla game mechanic of logs. dwemer pieces for running sinks and showers etc

On a side note

@Kythana Audio overhaul has had a SKSE error since the beginning of the month (may) doesn't look like it stops it from working, but you will have an alert in MO2.

Define "unshaved" as in hippie hair? females that look like wookies? or males that look like wookies. or both?

i was having an issue with defeat just before i nuked the mod list, in my game it was binding the player, but then you couldn't get out, no struggle script or anything. you just layed there and shrugged your shoulders every 30 seconds or so. i sat there at the edge of a bandit camp for a good 10 real minutes and no notifications about struggling to get out, or an evil glint in the bandits eyes nothing.

Wow.. hadn't tried Blackthorn yet, but not sure I would. I got kinda burned on the massive amount of mats hunting needed for LC_noblehouse

 

As for the Audio Overhaul, I have the most recent version, 3.2.0, but i have not been getting an SKSE error in MO2 at all. I am using SKSE 2.0.15. What kind of error is it?

From what I've seen LC_Noble House looks alot better imo if it actually works I did see some people having CTDs randomly and some other people where getting lag from using the unofficial patch for skyrim se. But yea Blackthorn I was looking at beforehand

Well as far as blackthorn you actually don't need to collect anything if you choose not to, the author put in a cheat chest with all the mats you need.

it may have something to do with a skse error. it shows in MO2 on the Notifications, it says

The failed plugins are:

• Couldn't load SetVehicleFixPlugin.dll (MoreNastyCritters v11 4CSE). The last error code was 193.

• SNCTSave plugin version 1 (SNCTSave.dll, Audio Overhaul for Skyrim SE) reported as incompatible during query.

but thats all it is. a notification. but then i couldn't tell if the audio is working well or partially, i keep the sound turned down low enough you can barely hear the dog next to you. but damn i gotta get hadvar away from the pornstache he got stuck with. and i may have done something wrong but the males all look like they've been drug a mile down a broken glass road. on their face. Which is from the men of winter mod. going to try diversity and see if they look better. but on that if you use diversity the esp has to be loaded after cloaks if you use that mod as well. no idea why. but alot of people get the blackface of cloaks is below the esp for those people. balgruff, the imp just as you walk into whiterun (whoever he is battle-born i think is the last name) move cloaks above any esp that edits them and no problems

I'm talking about female pubic hair. We got a mod for that, but it uses an ESM. When i (try to) make it via texture it could free up one slot in the loadorder. Although it would be interesting to see what happens when it is combined…

I had something similar in the beginning when i was testing mods from here. But that didn't happen to me for some time now and i thought i 'accidently' fixed it. A fix might be rerunning FNIS (check the entry 'Animation') or because i got everything in the group LL installed atm. Sadly we can't check the thread for the mod anymore.

I would have to give the same answer as @kesryth.

 

 

Regarding the buildable houses. I've taken a look at a few of them. But some give problems with the landscape, got some gigantic rooms (not so realistic) or even swimming pools inside.

 

I've seen quite a few floorplans of existing real houses for the timeperiod that would fit TES. So often enough my reaction is 'Wtf were the creators thinking?'.

 

 

€: Dang, i need way too long to type stuff…

1 If i remember correctly that dll isn't needed at all (there was something about it in the support thread of that mod).

2 No idea where this is coming from. Never seen that error. Do you use enhanced blood and have the patch installed?

CBBE when you install it can put the hair on the puss. and in oldrym there was one that was a racemenu tattoo style. i forget the name but it was awsome to have a triple v shave in glowing neon orange :P 

Blackthorn manor is a 3 story house. top floor is master bedroom,, kids room, bathroom, and one followers room. middle floor is the main door, study,, dining room, kitchen and the second follower bunkroom. (6 beds) bottom floor (basement) is the armory and crafting areas. only thing missing is a smelter. but the blacksmith shop across the street (when you build it) has one. it will also autostore/auto load all of your mats at once. so if you need leather and moonstone plus orchalum you don't need it in your inventory. it loads when you activate the forge. 

sorry i'm still working on getting diversity tto play well with others in the mod list, i'll post screenshots if i can figure out how to in a spoiler

i have the .7zip file from the last build if you need it.

I see now why it takes so long. apparently quins patcher doesn't like diversity. had multiple gray face just in whiterun. made sure every mod quinns patched is above the patches then put diversity just below it, now i'm checking diversity vs cloaks of skyrim
