Will try once more later tomorrow:  uninstalling everything and reinstalling again, since well, i dont have anything to lose and everything its already downloaded, if that does not fix it i give up

Edit: Reinstalled the Rudy fixes, one of the archives on MO2 was corrupted (error reading the archive) i think that was the error, but im still going to reinstall everything to see if i can get around some stuff that that i dont like, sorry for tipying so much im sure you already have a lot going on.

Hello everyone,

 

i followed this guide for the last two weeks to get my Skyrim game to the same level as shown in the pictures. First of all i wan to thank you for the time you've put in to make clear and easily understandable instructions.

 

Sadly im stuck. I tried to follow the guide as good as possible. Im currently at the "FINAL" part. The problem is installed rudy's ENB but when i go ingame. The SKY and is super birght and everything looks washed out.

 

Do you have any idea what i did wrong? A reason could be that i at first misinterpreted the guide and installed the "MANUAL" part of the Rudy ENB via Mod organizer (add to archive).  I only now realized my mistake. I then copied the files from the manual part into my skyrim root DATA Folder. Maybe i have to resintall Cathredals Weather PART I and PART II again?

Hello there, i created this account to ask this since im a bit confused with something:

I already had my skyrim up to date with this guide a good time ago, but i updated my pc so i have to start the whole guide again. This is my first post since the last time i had a friend helping me but not now, so i apologize if my questions sound dumb. I try to do the best on my own but sometimes you just have to ask.

@Aylis When installing Dyndolod... gamer Poets recommend it to have it like this  https://imgur.com/tmQpjoT  but i do remember that when i used it like this it caused some lods (especially on buildings on Solitude and WhiteRun) to flicker like a bad ported game, what would you recommend me to pick? And im sorry the very dumb question, im still learning. 


And Majestic Mountains  .. should we pick none for the sun direction since we will be using ENB? what you recommend?

Edit: So i think i fixed most of my problems with the trees, they still look a bit iffy for me but im sure thats just me now, the only problem i have left its the weird glow/reflection at the shore on lakes, besides that i think its all good? i may swap back to large lush trees out of preference, but nothing else.

I'm honestly not seeing any major issues, they are foggy? as in they are not quite as.. detailed as they should be. It's hard for me to get a random concept into usable words, sorry.

If you didn't overwrite anything in cathedral weathers with the enb, you should be fine. you can also enter the game hit Right shift + enter. it will bring up the enb interface. Adjust brightness down to what it should be, and remeber to hit save profile and then apply changes to save the settings. And please edit your post to put photos/screenshots into spoiler tags please. This is what my skyrim data folder looks like, don't ask about the one above it.. it looks pretty janked

yep, but as i said avobe i have problems with certain colors (not totally color blind, just a bit) so i dont know if its just me or they are indeed looking "foggy" (no matter if theres fog in game or not)

first of all thanks to @Aylis for this great guide, it is very convenient and works great, I installed everything without problems and even the game starts without problems. With this structure I was also able to install other mods without problems, excellent. Thanks also for the advice to not use "loot". Thank a lot !! ???

 

 

I then have a question:

If I install a new mod during the playgame, do I leave them at the bottom of the load order or do I move them?
How do I deal with mods that have an ESM?

What the guide means when it says not to use LOOT is "Don't use the Sort Plugins function of LOOT". It's still advicable to run LOOT to see if your modlist misses any patches.

 

As for your load order, esm->esl->esp/eslfied esp. After installing new mod, put your new mod in the correct category (Foundation, UI, Skse, ....) then run Wrye Bash -> rebuild patch. Wrye Bash will tell you if there is any missing master due to load order.

 

@Aylis The author of Shield Sister Re-imagined also release other npc overhaul mods such as College of Winterhold Re-Imagined, Jarls Re-Imagined Redux, Serena and Valerica.

Sorry i didn't knew how to mark picutres with the spoiler tag. Fixed it now. I tried to reduce the ENB Brightnes setting from 1.00 to something which looks good. I stopped at around 0.45. Indoors it looks good, but in the outside there is still, like a white tint over everything. A bit foggy.

thank you for answering. Sorry for the mess i caused. Now i reuploaded the pictures and tagged them as spoilers. Should be fine now. Still trying to fix my ENB.

 

On a Sidenote, i finished your guide up until the part of the WYRE bash patch. I started the game up and wanted to see how it perform, before i do it. Sadly i sometimes CTD when i load exterior CELL. But when i choose to spawn in the wilderness with Alternate Start mod, i don't crash. Tried to teleport me to Whiterun with the console command, but again CTD.

 

On open plains and woods im fine. But in Cities (Windhelm) my performance drops drastically. Seems like my PC can't handle the list. Should i finish the guide before trying to improve my performance by installing smaller 2k textures etc?

 

My Set-Up:

 

21:9 Ultra Wide screen - 3440 x 1440

i7-3770k CPU

Radeon Sapphire Nitro - Vega 64 (8 GB VRAM)

16 GB DDR3

On a Sidenote, i finished your guide up until the part of the WYRE bash patch. I started the game up and wanted to see how it perform, before i do it. Sadly i sometimes CTD when i load exterior CELL. But when i choose to spawn in the wilderness with Alternate Start mod, i don't crash. Tried to teleport me to Whiterun with the console command, but again CTD.

 

On open plains and woods im fine. But in Cities (Windhelm) my performance drops drastically. Seems like my PC can't handle the list. Should i finish the guide before trying to improve my performance by installing smaller 2k textures etc?

Did wyre patch told you about any errors? Because you cant ignore those errors.

In the load list i see SKSE marked as a mod (since its inside the list itself) you should install it directly into your game, its as simple as copy the files and drop them into your game folder, then add SKSE (launcher) as tool inside MO2, always launch the game from there.

Cathedral weathers has nothing to do being first mod on the list it should be first on the Weather and Lighting section

I dont see neither Terrain LOD , DynDOLOD Texture Output, DynDOLOD Output , Ambient occlusion (<all of them generated via tools)

That alone is more than enough to make your game CTD or be weird, let alone being actually pretty/lag free.

and overall i see a ton of mods missing (i didnt check one by one but im pretty sure just at a glance theres TONS important mods missing) and the mods that are installed are all over the place, are you sure that you followed the list mod by mod install by install, top to bottom and didnt move anything? Did you read the description of each mod plus anything that may be relevant to the installation in the guide? 

as a side note: Use separators on your MO2 (the yellow lines with category names) they make trouble shooting SO MUCH simpler and easy (Right click > create separator)
and name every mod not as the come as what the name wants to be named, rename it to what the guide calls it to make it even easier to troubleshoot.

Oh god,

 

i just realized that i made multiple mistakes. First of all i didn't install SKSE to the Skyrim game folder. Then i was stupid and didn't realize that i should rename all the mods instead of merging them. I literally merged all the patches and everything what prompted me to overwrite... It's a wonder that the game even runs.

 

Next huge mistake i accidently pressed on the "sync plugins" button which completly altered my load order...

 

To your information -  I did not yet creat the wyre bashed patch, neither the DynDOLOD Texture Output etc. I just wanted to check if everything is running fine. Instead of adding hundreds of mod and hoping in the end it works.

 

- Lessons learned i guess....

Could you send me your load order, just so i can compare it to mine. That would be great. Weird thing is besides the problems with my ENB, everything seems to run fine. Well Skyrim takes up 15 GB of RAM atm. But i guess that gets better when i actually finish the guide. My play is to finish the guide. And see if it works. @Mittelat Everything you did was something literally everyone has done at some point when they're learning how to mod. Don't get discouraged and don't feel like you did something dumb. You're learning, and modding this game has a steep learning curve. Easiest way to recover from clicking that ****ing sync button is to find the top mod in the list, right click it and send it to the bottom. Repeat until you've done it for everything and you'll be back to the proper LO. Sounds worse than it is; it'll probably take 30-45 minutes.

@wollboiThank you for the kind words. Even though i'm not new to modding in general, i'm quite new to Skyrim modding.  So i have to learn quite a bit   thankfully there are great guides like this one from @Aylis.

 

Could you elaborate a bit more on the fix for the "sync button". What do i gain from sending all mods back to the bottom? Doens't that also screw up the list. Also do you have an idea why the "Cathedral Weathers" shows as "umanaged"? I must hae done something wrong.

 

If by any chance, you would be okay with meeting up on a discord server, that would be great. As i could describe my problem better, instead of just writing.

@hakto It only happens when you press two buttons at the same time? I noticed in your mod list that you've got plus next to FNIS Behavior. You are deactivating it after you run FNIS and Nemesis, right?

 

@Mittelat Basically you're moving everything to the bottom in the order that it's listed in Aylis's list, top to bottom. So when you're done moving them all, you'll have your list back in order. When you're done with that, you'll need to deactivate all your mods and activate them one-by-one to get your plugin order listed in the right way. Just make sure to follow along with the list as you do so that you keep all your plugins in the order the list specifies (mostly the text in purple).

 

Did you manually install Cathedral? I would just remove it an reinstall it. And I'm not sure what your screenshot is supposed to be drawing attention to. And not sure why you have SKSE listed in your mod column. You only need to manually copy those files to your Skyrim folder.

As wollboi said you can move mods one by one.

What sync does its that it makes all Plugins (Esp, Esm, ESL, esp marked ESM) move like you just install it (example below) , this does NOT accounts for manual changes you have to make on the list (for example Training Dummies, SnowyFarmHouses, and a few more).. example:

Mod3           Esp3.3       SyncPlugins>  Esp2        It gets organizated based on your Modlist, rather than whatever Load Order wants. 
Mod4           Esp3.2                               Esp3.2          Remember that this gets applied regardless if you need or want an especific Plugin to be higher or lower
Mod5           Esp4                                  Esp3.3          on your load order   
                     Esp5                                  Esp4
                     Esl1                                   Esp5  

What i did to make sure i didnt miss anything was uninstall EVERYTHING, then install it again one by one, that solved a bunch of stuff that i got wrong. It takes time but thats the best way to make sure everything is a copy of the guide. It also makes sure that no mod that you may accidentaly merged gets extra stuff that wasnt supposed to have.

Another recomendation its to name every mod as they are named on the guide:
If you install lets say Vtaw 4 it gets automatically named Vtaw, but you need and want to know exactly what it is, so you rename it as the guide, vtaw 4.

Dont install any custom mod (as in: mods that aint included on the guide, like some random armor) until you reach the "final outputs" (Fnis, nemesis, Terrain, Lods, etc) that way you can make sure that what is causing the problem its not whatever you added.

I dont know: if i where you i would uninstall everything and then start all over, (and even clean the game folder and download it again, in case you copied anything that wasnt mean to be copied into the skyrim game folder)

It takes times but its worth it, the game looks on pair with most next gen games and its just a different but better skyrim.

@Aylis Can i install this add-on for Trees Addon SE? (See the image below) i guess this just makes the Lods higher res, i have a 3090 so performance its not a problem.   Im just asking, i have no idea if its worth it or even compatible, thanks!

Sofia - The Funny Fully Voiced Follower link goes to skyrim LE version, a mistake? Because the follower is already ported to SE, not just once i may add.
