Glossiness nifskope shiny/wet effect disappears on equip/unequip armor

Hello, i've been using nifskope glossiness body effect for years and today it just stopped working, so basically after i load game everything is fine, there is shiny/wet effect and then whenever i equip or unequip armor it disappear and body is mat, and when i enter racemenu - shiny effect is back and then again disappear. I didnt install any mod today only changing some ENB stuff and graphics settings but im pretty sure i revert it i even removed enb to make sure thats not the problem. 

 

-Tried without ENB.

-Tried to disable every mod.

-Same problem on new game.

-reinstalled whole skyrim. 

 

Any idea what might cause it? Thanks!

I'm starting to think it's not skyrim problem i mean there might be something wrong with my system and because of that i have this problem, it doesn't make sense but once after windows update my skyrim wont even start so everything is possible.

Changing the nif will never have an effect on armor.  Almost every main body clothing has a separate nif for the body.

 

Best way to have the glossiness effect work correctly for your character regardless of clothing is to make the edits using the ENB's specular effects and using textures.

NEVER TOUCH MANUALLY THE NIF FILES... until you know WHAT are you making and WHY...

 

If you want change the reflection and glossines use a mod like Wet Function Redux for make it. You can have:

Wet Function Redux is the ONLY mod that i know can make that in real time in all body models not matter if you use CBBE, UNP, Cosio, Mature or Real Women.

 

You NEVER can make that MANUALLY because almost every armor have the body mesh inside the armor model and you must edit MANUALY every armor model in base 0 and 1 for enable the effect. Aditionally, the effect is ALWAYS active with the same intensity. When use Wet Function Redux you decide the intensity and you are free for aply it only to player, followers or all womans.

Well i exactly know what im doing dont worry  i only edit body mesh like i said i was doing it for like 2-3 years for both naked body and every new "armor body", anyway i just found out what was causing the problem and it's Racemenu and NetImmerse Override non of them can be enable otherwise problem is back, unfortunately  these mods are quite important so i need to figure out how to fix it, will start with removing them and clean save from scripts and then install them again.

When i was trying skyrim without mods i only untick esp so meshes were still active so thats why problem was still there.

I can not understand WHY you make the hard work of MANUALLY modify each nif file when you have a mod, published 3 years ago, that AUTOMATICALLY make exactly the same.

Of course, Wet Function Redux not have any problem with Racemenu or NiOverride because is a REQUERIMENT and use some special functions in NiOverride for DINAMICALLY change the effects.

I might check this out but looks like nifskope is not even a problem here even if i removed all nifscope body "modifications" basically build new meshes through bodyslide and the only body effect are default fair textures - they are still disappear when equiping armor basically whole "body texture effect overall" disappear.

 

 

So i found out that nioverride.dll causing the problem. Now i need to figure out how to fix it since its quite important plugin if i'm not mistaken.

Verify if your problem is related EXCLUSIVELY to one armor model or group.

Maybe you are ussing an SPECIFIC armor that have SPECIAL textures and not use the normal body textures.

The DLL file nioverride.dll does NOT do ANYTHING on its own. It is a component of RaceMenu and is used by many mods.

If your problem is solved removing the DLL only can be because OTHER mod are calling the dll for make things and are breaking your body model.

Everything you have posted since this is a clear indication that you have no clue what you are doing.

 

nioverride.dll is not the source of whatever problems you are having, and yeah, its pretty important.

Ye you right maybe i dont know what exactly im doing but i know how to do it, and never had any problems, and even now it's not the problem. 

 

So i run game with racemenu,skyui,xpmse nothing more and same problem -> removed nioverride.dll no problem, there is also ini file for nioverride maybe i should change something there. I really dont know why it even started to act like that.

I know, that's why i want to keep nioverride.dll and figure out why it started to act like that after years and fix it.

If you only have 3 mods installed, of course, the problem can not come from OTHER mod.

And my only explication is TRASH in your installation or a bad configuration file.

 

First DELETE your INI files -> Skyrim.ini -> Skyrimprefs.ini and launch the game for generate new INI files.

Download, install and run BethIni for manage your INI files.

 

Second, remove/uninstall ALL yours mods and verify you game data folder for files that must NOT be here.

Send it to trash bin and activate/reinstall yours 3 mods. Disable ENB because maybe are you giving problems.

Try again in game and report results.

 

If problem persist say us WHAT manager are you ussing, NMM, MO, MO2, Vortex, because the next steps can depend of it.

Yesterday i downloaded completely new skyrim (renamed my main skyrim folder then downloaded new one) on new one i installed skse and now i tried with these 3 mods no enb, just skyrim, skse,racemenu,xpmse same problem i use Mod Organizer tried to put nioverride.dll and nioverride.ini to skyrim folder and remove from MO didnt worked,also reinstalled skse,reseted ini's.

 

Damn it's crazy and doesn't make any sense. 

 

I can try install these mods manually and dont use MO at all

Probably, the NEW installation of Skyrim not solve the problems because use THE SAME INI FILES.

 

When you use MO the game use the INI files your MO profile.

If you are making all that changes in THE SAME PROFILE you are ussing ALWAYS the SAME INI FILES.

If you copy you OLD profile over a NEW profille carry the SAME INI FILES.

Aditionally, i presume you are making test in a NEW GAME.

One of the first things that you MUST make when have problems in Skyrim is START A NEW GAME and verify the problem for determine if the problem come from the savegame, from the mods or from the installation.

 

If you are loading a savegame maybe can have some bad thing stored and can give you that problems.

I used new MO profile with new skyrim installation, anyway deleted them launched the game then used bethini to set them - didnt worked  

 

I mean i'm not some kind of guy that dont know nothing about modding, i've been playing skyrim with 250 mods for years even do some basic scripting but this issue is making me mad

So i tried new game and even older save and everything is fine at least for 1 min i will keep testing. Weird i tried new game before and it didnt worked, anyway thanks for help!

Ok, so after hours of testing im pretty sure it was some kind of save corrupted problem because on older save (1 day older) everything is fine. I obviously tried new game/older save before but i did it without restarting game so basically if i load that broken save and then load older or start new game - problem was still there but if i restart game and then start new game or load older save - everything is fine.

 

Why? I assume everything started after i tried to change character preset through racemenu then something simply fcked up, i didnt change character preset for months that's why i think it might be problem because changing that preset was basically the only thing i did that could cause something like that.

You have learned a common problem in Skyrim. Is not very spread but is know time ago, specially by players that use the vampire race. You can find hundreds of web pages refering the problems when try change hair style in vampire races. Of course, your problem is not related to vampires.

Your problem has happend because the game not make a FULL restart when you load a savegame and can make diferent things in special circunstances, like vampires races. The game get a lot of thing from their internal memory cache for save some processing time and some hard disk access. Normally, that is not a problem but when you have a DAMAGED savegame you can carry bad data.

 

Only a bit of players know that exit to the main menu have exactly the same result that close the game and launch it again. And of course, when you have problems in the game you must must make test in a NEW GAME because is the only way for be sure you not carry problems.
