wishbone346 Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Been trying to get the glowing dawnguard eyes while using a Serana replacer for quite some time now but can't seem to make it work. I've asked in the replacer's thread but not gotten an answer so I figured I'd ask here since you fine folks seem far more willing to help someone out. The replacer in question is the ever popular Seranaholic mod. I've done a little googling but all the ways I've seen for achieving this goal have failed. Anyone have any insight into how or even if this sort of thing is possible?
Yinkle Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Change the emissive color and emissive multiple in the eye shape bslightingshader node of the serana facegen nif file. Edit: you will need nifskope to do this. I tried to make the glow vary using a bslightingshaderpropertycolorcontroller but it crashed my game lol. I guess eye maps don't support this

Went with vanilla eyes option, Valerica is using black hair, and yes to the wrinkle option. And thanks a ton for the help. This is much more assistance than I was expecting with this subject.

Well, I seem to be running into an issue where when I add the glow, it glows *through* the eyebrows as well and looks stupid. I'm not really sure what's causing it. I'll keep trying to pin point the issue, but if I can't get it solved, I'm sorry for wasting your time I guess ;(

I know I saw some people mentioning that the default meshes with the mod aren't made for glow. I'm not sure if that'd be an issue, but worth a shot if you haven't already. And no issues, friend. You went above and beyond to help me here so regardless of if we figured it out or not, thanks. :)

After my initial failure, I also tried removing the branch for the eyes in nifscope, and copy/pasting the brach from a vampire that had the glow, set the node number correctly, and changed the file paths. This gave the look I wanted, but the eyes are too high in the face. Like I said, I'll keep playing with it, but I can't promise anything at this point. Sorry

Serenaholic is currently at 1.8 which among other things allows you in an install menu to change the eyes.

I use 1.6 because I prefer that look over 1.8. Personally I find 1.8 too cutesy.
Xion_04 Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Hi, I came across this beautiful conversation and I'm having the same problem. I just wanted to make the eyes of my Serana replacer (Selina mage follower or Serana replacer) glow as well. But apparently, I'm not an experienced Modder and I tried learning the basics, but it seems that my brain couldn't handle the huge amount of information (Nifskope, CK and so on). So, I was hoping someone whose really knowledgeable at this could give me hints/tips to accomplish my goal. Any help would much be appreciated.
